Is it really necessary to do open box review? Everybody does this, and this has been done already. The kg935 is a fine radio and much better than those cheap baofeng. I have one and love it, also have the kg1000g. Also you might want get the Nagoya 771 antenna for radio, great antenna than the stock one.
I think it is very necessary. Do you really want to base you first impressions of this radio on one person’s view of this radio. I like to read as much as I can and watch as many videos I can on what it is I’m looking for before I buy. And another thing is why would you make a comment on my video like that, basically insulting my video and then try to give me antenna advice. 🤔
@@jeremiahtorres6297 Those who hate unboxing vidios and would rather watch one that does not, are kidding themselves. The other vidios still show the items from the box one at a time anyway. How long does it take to remove the plastic bag while you talk about it? No difference because the other guys talk about it too. Maybe a little O. C D. kicking by the unboxing haters???
I’ve been rocking my beofeng for a year. Learned a fucking ton. Now that I’m confident I’m thinking of picking up the kg935g. Seems like the best gmrs ht money can buy
I did not have much time to watch your video and I scanned through it. I will watch it again. What I did like is your honesty about what you are thinking. You have my respect. Do not change how you do your videos. Two thumbs up.
There's a separate configuration area within the software that should let you set all the configs like brightness, color, etc. If you're not adjusting that, only adding/changing frequencies (and you didn't read first from your HT) then you're just over writing your current settings with the defaults. Sounds the case, but probably you checked it out.
I have this radio and I agree that the interface is a little "clumsy". However, I agree with your assessment of this radio. It is a good little unit; I see that there are comments in here saying to get a better antenna. I did that, as that would be the about the only real improvement that could be made after you get the radio.
Thanks for the review and especially comparing to the baofeng. I have also looked at the radioddity gs-5b and keep coming back to the kg-935g. good review!
This radio does alot kool stuff. just ordered it todays bought uv 5r a month ago just see if people used airways. i can wait to get on air with radio. Great review
@@jeremiahtorres6297 I’ve heard the police a going to digital I think 💭. I know for sure I read in article that police radio broadcasts will be delayed by 15 so criminals can’t take advantage of know what the cops are doing right away . At least in Louisville Kentucky I found and article . Also you might wanna read how police are going to digital .
@@DARTHDANSAN yes the police here in Allentown where I live went digital back in 2012 or 2013. But all the surrounding cities still use analog. Most of them in the higher mhz.
Instead of clicking the buttons, can you not simply hold the arrow button and let it advance on its own? Love that the top controls are stiff to turn, my Baofengs turn so freely that they're a nuisance if the radio is in a pocket... Can't you input the FM broadcast freq directly when the search gets close to what you want? I have the UV9GX, few reviews on it. Looking for basic operating instructions. I have 2 Wouxuns (one's an AM-FM CB) and this one since I'm mainly interested in GMRS. Have several (14) Baofengs, and 5 Uniden scanners. Ready for just about anything, just need to get proficient in the operation of the equipment. Thank you for your review of this model Wouxun...
The one thing I forgot to mention in the video is I have a person who I communicate with on one of the repeaters who was using the baofeng uv-9g and I could barely hear him on the repeater. Then one day he was loud and clear and he said he was using the kg-935g. That’s when I knew I wanted that radio. So I snatched it up for that reason. The baofeng radios are cheap so it’s easy to buy the new ones when they come out. But the wouxun is definitely a better radio. Better features and well worth the money. You won’t regret it.
Thanks again for another great video review. Thank you for not including an unboxing. Hope you someday show us a a simplex range comparison with the Baofeng UV-5G (X)
Here is something I learned about both radios. The Baofeng UV9G will not take an aftermarket antenna since the diameter of the collar around the SMA is too small for a 771G, this is a design flaw Baofeng admits to. Use your 771G on your 935 the use the Wouxun antenna on the UV-9G. It will fit the UV9G and it works better than to Baofeng antenna. Both radios are good, just comes down to you get what you pay for.
Just came across your video and seen you are from the Allentown area. I am in reading and am trying to see how far I can go and hit the blue mountain repeat might have to hook up with you to test that out. Great video by the way
Really can't wait to get mine now lol. I just paid for my gmrs license last night. When you got yours, how long did it take before your call sign showed in the fcc registry after submitting the application and posting payment? I know I have a couple weeks or more to wait on the radio but I'm just curious.
If you paid for it last night then you should be getting the email by tomorrow I would think. That’s about how long it took to get mine. You can use it right away. But it will take another 24 hours for it to show up in the mygmrs.com database. Once they can se it you can register to my gmrs and get access to all the repeater tones across the country.
Can you show how to program police frequencies? I'm not quite sure how to do it and not sure if you only put in the frequency that is on radio reference or if you have to add a tone.
I don’t have that sulcata anymore. But I do have another one that’s 5 years old and will be putting videos up next year in the spring when we put them out in the yard to feed. We also have an Indian star tortoise that I will be putting videos up of too.
Not the Allentown police department. But Some of them in the surrounding areas and the sheriffs office. I listen to the Whitehall police department mostly and I can hear the Lehigh county prison.
Anyone else having an issue with this POS not being able to receive repeater reception? I’m less than 2 miles from my local repeater, and I have other HT’S that compared side by side can receive AND transmit to /from them crystal clear. But this thing…. Just sounds like crackled noise and that’s IF I’m lucky enough to even get a signal at all! On simplex I get AWESOME clarity even testing at fairly long range! But if I can’t get repeaters on this thing…. How is this anything more than an overpriced, over-glorified hello kitty walk-in talkie??
You are the first person I ever heard having a problem like this with this radio. I would call buy two way radios and talk with them about it. You may have gotten a bad one.
@@Lobsterman5481 When you download the software there should be two things to download the CPU which is the program is software and also a driver for the connections make sure both are downloaded
