Great review of the KG-935G. I have several GMRS radios and hands down the 935-G outshines them all. It talks and hears better than any of the others. Features are fantastic. The screen can be a little tough to see in bright light but is fully usable with a cupped hand. Antenna is very good. I ordered a second one for another GMRS radio. The only two things I wish would change or be better is that when you lock the radio, I'd like the ability to still change channels with the knob on top. The second thing is I wish the scan speed was faster. Scan speed is very important. Be sure to order the "AA" battery holder to replace the Lithium Ion battery if you cannot get to a place to charge it. "AA" batteries are available everywhere. My favorite analog ham radio is my Yaesu FT-60. Super fast scan speeds and 10 scan banks. Very wide scan range with the AM Air Band included. Best front end on the market and it's tough as nails. It's about IP 66 as to water resistance. Thanks for the review, it was a good one !
I'm new to GMRS, had my kg935 for a few months and had issues with hitting repeaters (offset +5Mhz). I can hear people responding to each other but every time I PTT, I get no response. For weeks I've been trying figure out what am I doing wrong or could there be something wrong with the radio, resetting the radio several times. I notice pressing the mode button 3 times gets me to the factory listed frequency. I suspect 1st press is the offset frequency, I reprogrammed, mode 1st button press with the offset frequency...low and behold it now works correctly. I can hear and, now talk. I'm in your State.
Right on yeah sometimes it can be kind of difficult to figure it out a little bit confusing. . I know if I step away from it for a little while I forget about it and I have to go relearn it all. Also sometimes it's good to find someone with a little more experience they can help you figure things out I know probably where you're at there's lots of people more than willing to help you.
I just got the kg 935 and it doesn't work correctly. The top bank is the issue it scans slower than 5he bottom bank and will show a transmission on every channel but no audio. Is this a setting issue or should I send it back the bottom bank works as should
@@davidbird7540 You sir are correct. It does not do both bands at the same time I am mistaken. I think when I saw the comment I was thinking of the Wouxun kguv9d mate. So no it does not do it at the smae time but of course it does scan both bands just one at a time. Sorry for the confusion. Thanks for the comment guys.
@@joegrace5818 Or, are you talking about the beep when you try to key up on a frequency that is not GMRS ? You get a loud beep if you try to transmit out of the GMRS band. The radio will not transmit outside of the GMRS channels.
