*Fascinant, envoûtant, transcendant... les épithètes tournent autour, mais sans pouvoir définir l'intense sentiment que j'ai d'être envahi corps et âme par la beauté de cette chanson de Wovenhand.*
The awesome & creepy cover of Bill Withers 'Ain't No Sunshine' from The Innocent Man on Netflix brought me here... 🤔 Flickers of Cave/Cash/Irish Rebellion SONGS in this one... WOW! 🤪 Woven Hand 🖐️
This fear is only the beginning All for the loving hand Yes, I smile and I agree It is a good night to shiver A good tongue might make it right All I've said above a whisper There is a sorrow to be desired To be sorrow's desire What they say is true It is a dirty blue This color around you You're curled up warm In your own little corner of Sodom Did you agree to believe This fall has no bottom? There is a sorrow to be desired To be sorrow's desire All we move by the book of numbers I'm held together by string I hear not the voices of others The bells of Leuven ring Fear not the faces of brothers I've come apart it seems I see not the faces are covered I'm in your amber ring Your amber ring
I always interpreted the meaning as the sadness of depravity. People (porn 'stars' for example) selling themselves for financial gain and out of a desire to be desired, or those that avail of this vice as equally sad for desiring such fleeting passions. Just my opinion though.@@mitrahispana4119
The video clip is from an animated short film entitled "The Hangman" from 1964, which was based on a poem by Maurice Ogden. You can watch the original here : www.archive.org/details/the_hangman_1964 .
This video reminds me, just in SOME way and to the CERTAIN degree, 'The Wall' by Pink Floyd. Only in just a certain degree, as I said. I mean the way things (well, System, so to say) tend to live it's own life, grow up, spread out, get distorted and turn into their own morbid parody. I mean I'm aware of the huge distance separating apart the two mentioned conventions, still there's something common in aesthetics, what I am barely able to verbalize-convey in English.
@@harasessrog562 I'd have said it's a teeny bit like Batman: The Animated Series but this is perhaps where the inspiration for that show came from. Thanks for the info! :)
