Adam Rupp's (the beatboxer/vocal percussionist) tremendous snare cadence and Air Force jet flyover at the end just take this over the top! 🔥❤💯 I can't believe Lee Greenwood still sounds so great in his mid-70s!!
I'm here because you chose to highlight this powerful collaboration. I really enjoyed your reaction, and hope you will join the Home Free fans (called "Home Fries") down a long road of vocal wonderment. Their voices are individually great, but come together without instruments in unbelievable harmony. Their song choices show a long history of respect for veterans everywhere, anti-racism, and just pure love. On that note, I'll say that the ugly racism going on now is the product of a minority getting too much political power. We Americans (the other 70%) kind of fell asleep at the switch and didn't notice how much malice was creeping into our offices of power. I believe it's not too late to redeem our reputation across the globe. Thank you for spreading the words of peace, love and freedom.
That's how tyranny operates my friend. It whispers all problems can be solved if you just trust that voice. By the time your rights have been torn away its obvious a revolution is necessary to regain them. All the best from the UK
You'd love a Home Free original called "Land of the Free"! It was written by Tim Foust (the guy with the deep bass voice). It's a fantastic song and video! 🔥❤💯🇺🇸
Lee said he had more freedom in this arrangement than he did the original and it was his song! There is a video about the making if this rendition of this song.
This group is amazing. They do a lot of country and are (obviously) not afraid to show their love of our country. They have a whole album of patriotic songs, most covers with a few originals. One original is "Land of the Free." They also cover "My Country Tis of Thee," "Travelin Soldier," "Brothers in Arms."
Oh thank you! Home Free is awesome, you simply cannot go wrong with them, I haven't heard a bad one from them yet. It is even more wowing when you realize that Lee Greenwood was up in his mid 70s at that time and still has strong pipes and the only instruments are the guys' voices.
Lee Greenwood still has an Amazing voice as does The members of the Air force choir. I am a huge Home Free fan. A Home Fry completely. The instruments you heard were from Home Free's voices. Mainly Adam Rupp. The deep voice was Tim Foust. I was never a fan of A capella. But these men changed that forever. This song always makes me emotional and gives me chills. Thank you ☮️
I surprised my husband with this as our first dance song at our wedding. He is the most patriotic non veteran I’ve ever known. Due to concussions from sports in high school he couldn’t be medically cleared to be in the military. Every year around Independence Day we hear the song and it always takes us back to our wedding. We saw Lee Greenwood perform it last summer and were just feet away from Lee. It was incredible. I am getting nothing done just watching the videos! :)
@@heatherlea6825 yes, I thought I heard somewhere that Lee said he never veered away from the original. The runs and the extra really brought it to a new level. For a man in his 80s he still has some serious pipes.
Seeing so many Brits bashing the USA on social media lately, it is refreshing to find someone who undrestands and appreciates our patriotism. This earned you a follow. :)
Mikey, I LOVE HOW YOU REACT TO THIS & ANY OTHER VIDEOS!!! I am a subscriber because you don't talk and stop the video, you let us hear, then respond. YOUR MOM & DAD RAISED A GOOD MAN!!! ✌🏼🗽🎶❤🤍💙
Remember, there are NO instruments; this is all a capella, including the flyover at the end. The deep voice you heard was Tim; he has a 5 octave range.
I love this! What a wonderful collaboration with Lee Greenwood and The United States Air Force band. One by one such beautiful voices which match so well with the voices of Home Free. The fact that Lee Greenwood remains the center of attention I think shows a lot of respect for this great singer. But Adam Rupp tops it off with his incredible beatboxing/vocal percussion/vocal sounds. He is inhuman.❤️
Hi Mikey, Blessings! I think that God has touched this song, not only for Americans but for everyone who wants freedom in your own land. Be well. Greeting you from Florida in the US.
This is such a stirring song you don't have to be American to appreciate it. The addition of the U.S. Air Force band just elevates a good song even more. Incidentally, Tim Foust (bass) is from southeast Texas. Home Free has also collaborated with such legends as Kenny Rogers, Alabama, The Oak Ridge Boys, Peter Hollens, Don McLean and Charlie Daniels. Fall down the Home Free rabbit hole - it's a great trip! They sing almost every genre from goofy to gospel. Love from a new Canadian subscriber.
This song is amazing , the first time I heard it was the 4th of July fireworks , by the water in downtown St. Petersburg Florida, it was amazing to see , with the fireworks reflection on the surface of the water , and the people singing along , the American people are amazing , when it comes to this country , even thoughts it has its flaws it is a great country . And we may lose it to the radicals . And that would be very sad , but we are fighting back , to save our country .
Welcome to the legion of Home Fries. They have so man great songs out it's hard to just pick a few to recommend. Two that are a good comparison in the spectrum of emotions they can bring up are Go Rest High on That Mountain and Brother. The first is a very moving video, matching the love and mourning one has for a lost loved one. The second song has a beautiful message of brotherhood and supporting each other but it can be hard to concentrate on the when the video itself brings tears of laughter to your eyes. You might want to check out the videos they did while stuck at home during the quarantine. Each of them did their recording in and around their own home (in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Los Angeles, CA, and Nashville, Tennessee) for the footage to be mesh together in some fantastic videos, about twice a month for a while. See Quarantine, Sunday Best, Down to the Honkytonk, Meet in the Middle, and Flowers on the Wall. And then there's the one they did with Peter Hollens, I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For. This one is a good example of what reactors have to remember for videos by Home Free, Tim Foust, Austin Brown as well as their friends VoicePlay, and their bass singer Geoff Castellucci: Keep watching until the patron credits roll. Just because the song is over doesn't mean the video itself is. Enjoy!
There are still a whole lot of us...still patriotic and fly our flags and wear our shirts.....the news is a small part of who we are.....WE ARE STILL HERE ....GOD BLESS THE U.S.A!!!! Come visit...you will see :)
I was being deployed from Germany to Kuwait, Operation Desert Storm after Saddam invaded Kuwait. We had completed out processing, and we were on a German charter bus at Rein Mien Air Force Base, heading for the tarmac to board our plane. The bus was insanely noisy, we were all nervous and scared about where we were going. This song came on the radio, the bus driver stopped the bus and shut off the motor. Nobody made a sound until the song ended, and we all had tears in our eyes. This song sure brings back memories.
This is an incredible story, wow, honestly thank you for sharing it! I can close my eyes and nearly imagine that feeling sir. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your service! ❤️🇺🇸
Just came across your channel with this reaction to Home Free. Enjoyed your reaction and so subscribed. Home Free has a huge catalogue of videos of all types: patriotic, social concerns, country, jazz, about anything you might wish to listen to for doing a reaction. A suggestion, you might want to test listening with headphones. Be well.
This is a great version of this song!! Lee Greenwood start singing is in his late 70s and wrote this song years ago! Watch the Patreon making of this video where Lee and the producers share their experiences as country kids and how this song makes them feelH. Home Free is a very patriotic a cappella group! Listen to their original. “ land of the free”, “My country ‘tis of Thee!!”, “Only in America”! Great reaction!!
I'm embarrassed to say that I wish there were more Americans who cared about our country like you do! Sadly, we have too many that are "woke", and mentally gone! Luckily, there are still TONS of us who still love our country, and would fight and die for it! Very good reaction.
And what is "woke"? Caring about other who aren't exactly like you? Hmmmm, that sounds like the guys of Home Free. Maybe you ought to go to the country where your allegiance is for your nap time. Tell me, can you rad Cyrillic?
The military singers are The Air Force Singing Sargents…..an elite singing group🇺🇸‼️🇺🇸 Oh, the lovely Bass ….”across the plains of Texas”…is from Home Free…Tim Foust &, he Is from Texas 🔥❤️‼️
I know it's cliche to say but Imma sucker for a good soul. Appreciate your love for my country & for freedom in general. Your a solid individual bro 💪🏽
Lee Greenwood wrote and sang the original “God Bless the USA” back in the 1980’s. This song is and has been (my opinion) the 2nd most popular song played after our national anthem (“The Star Spangled Banner”).
Less than a year after 9/11 I danced at the pregame show at a New Orleans Saints game to this song. At the end we pulled an American flag shaped like America across the field. Everyone in the stadium was standing and crying. It was so beautiful. 🇺🇲
I wish my poor father survived the Vietnam War because I know he would have loved this wonderful video! He was only 19. Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful video with us! ❤❤❤
I think what takes songs like this to another level is this next generation has been posting videos abut how they think "we should get over 9/11 and it doesnt matter anymore." It makes me sick to know that they think this way and it makes me sick to know that they would NOT react the same way we did back in 2001. And the fact that their parents never taught them about it, sat them down and made them watch the news coverage of 9/11 as it happened with all the gory footage included. The people jumping from 100 stories up because they would rather that than burn to death or die when the building came down. These songs have soooo much meaning and thank you for reacting to it.
