Caped crusader hype loving the look of it so far

I have been waiting what feels like a lifetime for this. the man, the myth, the legend himself Bruce Timm of BTAS, Matt Reeves of The Batman, JJ Abrams of...you name it...along with comics legend Ed Brubaker and several others. I wish they went with the og BTAS animation style...that was a peak in animation, and that style would just be perfect in this.

Bruce Timm, you shall not let us down!

The catwoman suit literally looks just like the brave and the bold suit. I like the vibes.

The superman photo has been blown out of proportion IMO. Robert Myer Burnett from The John Campea show made an eye opening comment. He thinks the photo was a candid photo of David on set putting on his costume... not a scripted shot of superman getting ready for battle. Going back and reading Gunn's caption of this photo, this made a lot of sense. It also explains why the suit looked all creased up and unflattering. You'd imagine Gunn would never shoot superman hunched over putting on boots (or if they did, creases that show up on the suit would be CGI'd). Eitherway, my trust in Gunn remains... I know he will direct an awesome Superman movie.

I'm excited about Caped Crusader. Bruce being a patient of Harley sounds bonkers lol. Also, love the different take on Harley and seemingly Batman/Bruce that they are promising. Fingers crossed that we actually get some great story telling as it has been missing from DC animation lately......Crisis 2 OMG!!!!

I really like that perspective for the suit reveal. I hadn't thought of it like that (loved the pic from the start but never considered the reason why this particular photo). I think it works really well from that angle to set up what the movie is gonna feel like on top of what it looks like. Great vid as always Boba. Keep up the good work!

Lol it’s so funny from the film vs the book- in the book, it took Gandalf like many MANY years to do some research on the ring and have Aragorn hunt gollem. In the movie it seems like a few days

The colors are bright. Look at the legs. For people saying the suits baggy, whatever is in the sky out there is blocking the sun. Without the sun, Superman weakens, and loses muscle mass. I think that’s what’s happening here. He doesn’t look “enthused” because he’s exhausted, but still has to go save the world.

22:20 I get the sentiment James Gunn is creating intimacy through threads and Easter eggs. It's a nice touch. At the same time, maybe he could be mindful of not showing too much of the process. Like, a fitting analogy might be, we don't want to see how the sausage is made. Maybe keeping some of mystery is how we need to identify with a character like Superman.

Not a fan of making Harley serious but then Harleen the goofy part. Because then it’s a different character at that point. It’s like making Clark a super confident and charismatic team leader, but then Superman being a timid shy dork who only follows and doesn’t really lead… just a different character at that point. There was a Hunt For Gollum 2009 fan film.....man they took the same name and title....hoestly that was more faithful and i doubt the film will be as honoring the tale!

I'd be more than happy to see a Lon Chaney based Clayface in live action , better than a CGI blob and a better story .

I am so hyped about Caped Crusader! I was looking forward to it before, but finding out that it’s set in the 40s makes me even more excited. It’s perfect for noir vibes and detective stories, and I’m already loving what we’re seeing in terms of character design and color palette. I hope we get a sneak peek of what Gotham’s architecture looks like too. I love that they went in with the goal of doing something different. Some of the recent non-traditional takes on Batman have been really refreshing, and I don’t understand why some people have a problem with them. The Batman story is one of our great modern myths, kind of like how people used to tell stories about folk heroes like John Henry or Paul Bunyan or demigods like Hercules. The story is simple and powerful, and the character motivation easy to understand: a young boy loses his parents to violence and decides to dress like a bat to fight crime and protect others. We feel empathy for the boy and understanding for the man even though his methods are extreme. We have seen many different takes on Batman and many different innovations over the years, and I’m so open to the more non-traditional ones like this. I know some people didn’t like Winston Duke half-jokingly putting his name out there to be Batman, but why not? Why not put Batman in the 1940s, or have him hunt Jack the Ripper, or have him be an emo boy who listens to Nirvana? I love them all, and there is more than enough room for all of them to exist. If someone doesn’t like a particular take, that’s fine - there are many more to choose from and those people can just move on.

🚨 Let us break this Superman photo down. (Gunn confirmed the picture is in camera and has not gone through any post): I believe the pink sphere in the picture is Solaris. Gunn is inspired by All Star Superman: I believe Solaris was one of the villains in All Star Superman. Solaris has injured Superman and have blocked the yellow sun while fighting Superman; this is wear the damage on suit came from. I see a green light striking Solaris in the picture as well. Superman may be injured and weaken from the first fight. Green Lantern and others are distracting Solaris while Superman recovers. Solaris is overcoming the other heroes and weakened, Clark Kent witnesses they need his help. They need Superman. ⭐️ In this picture, a weakened Superman is putting on his boots for round 2, he beaten and injured but he is preparing suit back up to fight Solaris, who is blocking the sun, all odds are against Clark but he is the beacon of hope; he is Superman. Now in this photo Superman is preparing to give his all to save the other heroes and the world. ⭐️ I recently rewatched All Star Superman. Solaris and Lex plays a big part; and, I believe the other in heroes are replacing the fortress of solitude robots to fight Solaris. ♦️Solaris is a Superman Character. Solaris, the Tyrant Sun, has appeared in other comics: - Superman: DC One Million - Superman: Last stand of Krypton - Superman: Annual #12 - Superman/Batman #80-81 - Superman: Action Comic #782 - Superman: Man of Steel #115 - Superman: All-Star Superman. - I want to add, in the comic or animated movie of “All Star Superman,”Superman needs help from his robots to combat Solaris; Lex get power and is working with Solaris: 1. Well in the image James release you see a green light beam striking top of Solaris. 2. Instead of the robot, this is why you need all the other heroes; they replace his robots and are an integral part of the overall story. (Gunn said this) 3. Lex will probably trick the Engineer in finding the fortress. (Remember, there we report during the time of the Crest reveal, the Engineer was in the snow with Superman. She probably found the fortress of solitude and something to give Lex powers; and Lex some way made a deal with Solaris. 4. Gunn is taking inspiration from the New 52, All Star Superman and Superman All Seasons. 5. 🚨 Gunn should had waited and run the photo through post production before releasing to the public. (I think he released the photo without post because the media may get a bad picture.

Okay , as long as I know that boba is covering news of the lord of the rings franchise , I think that he needs to cover news of the upcoming the Warner Bros animation / New Line Cinema anime film tilted “ The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim “ which is slated to hit theaters on Dec. 13th , 2024 and will be distributed theatrically by Warner Brothers Discovery

The Superman outfit looks like he just got blasted by something on that upper right area. He looks beat here, maybe a screenshot from halfway through the movie, just before he gets back up and kicks ass!

People complained when Gun didn’t show the suit and then they complain when he did saying that’s not the picture that they want lol it’s a teaser image he no doubt wanted to peak everyone’s interest and not give to much away.

even if it is how they want to potrey superman in this movie like mr. Ivan says, then i dont want to see superman in the trailer and in the movie in all his glory and give punches ect....or else if the marketing of this movie is like superman flying, or show his strength ect... and then in the movie lois is the hero and superman is in touch with his inner sensitive thoughts then the marketing will be concider as a misleading one...

It's hard to capture it in an image, but it does just look like he's leisurely putting on his suit while people are dying by what ever that is in the sky. You can say we'll he's just calm, and using super speed, it only takes him a few seconds, I guess. I think it'd work much better with out the orb in the background though.

I hope Viggo Mortensen comes back as Aragorn for the new Lord of the Rings movie. It'd be very odd to see some other actor play Aragorn, especially when the events of the Hunt for Gollum happen just before the Fellow of the Ring.

They promised this would continue in the spirit of B:TAS. It doesn't. As for the 1940s Batman by Bob Kane... its unreadable and this is a poor take on that as well. This looks weak and cheap. One character's neck is as big as Bruce Wayne's thumb. His own neck is a foot long. Nice anatomy! Bruce Timm tried to make it easy... Harley redesign sucks. Over-powering her is another sign they just don't get this character.

Caped Crusader should find someone with the same voice as Kevin Conroy. I’ve said it since he died, but Kevin Conroy’s Batman voice needs to be enshrined as one of those legacy voices, like Bugs Bunny or Fred Flinstone

based on the casting I would say stylistically the superman movie is also inspired by the Fleischer cartoons

(And, I'm aware African-Amercan was class related back in the day... many had crossed the river and were described as "swarthy" instead of Black -- perhaps even Abe Lincoln.)

Really excited about Lord of the Rings. It is my favorite movie trilogy of all time. Didn't love the Hobbit but didn't hate it either. They easily could have made that into only 2 movies; there was a lot of fluff. Not sure how I feel about Andy directing but glad Peter has his back and will be with him the entire way.

My reaction to the lord of the rings movie went like this. A new movie awesome, Warner brothers: It's about Golluem, WHY?! . And that's where I've been since the announcement Warner brothers hyper fixation on him is really getting irritating and this movie does'nt sound like it was well thought out. No matter what people are going to know how it all ends because they need to connect it back to Fellowship of the Ring. And there's a good chance Aragorn will need a recast which will also piss people off. While filling in the gap does sound cool I don't think it's so big that it needs a movie to tell it, I want to see them do something past Return of the King already.

Is that Clayface? It looks more like Scarecrow from The Animated Series. If it is Clayface, I like what they're going for, I just feel like it's too much like Scarecrow (not to say that it looks bad, that design slaps).

I don’t know what the hell Bruce Timm is thinking? If Harley Quinn were to be intimidating she would not rely on her physical stature, she would rely on her intellect to be menacing. But that’s just The Joker. Literally that’s HIS character. The Joker manipulated the psychotherapist!!! THATS MENACING INTELLECT, he can absolutely control most aspects of what he is. He’s just literally insane, so he is the sometimes whimsical mostly scary one,(in most cannons). Harley Quinn was the perfect Foyil to that, a lot of the time whimsical and sometimes serious and scary. (but that makes her scary moments TRULY scary…that’s the point, the CONTRAST within her character) Stop trying to fix what ain’t broken, her character (the way it was made) is perfect already, literally her first appearance ever, he had to deal with Joker being an abusive boyfriend who threw her out a window, and she had to deal with the choice of whether or not to stay or leave after acknowledging that Joker gave her this new life of freedom and crime that she loves so much, setting up this perfect character growth. What THIS is doing is literally just making The Joker a woman. It might not be intentional, but you and the creators of this show just aren’t thinking this through.

I have to admit I was more hyped before those reveals. I’m a bit worried now, or disappointed, I don’t know. I’ll check it out anyways, and I can only be positively surprised going forward.

Backlash on the reveal was warranted IMO. The suit is fine as most seem to agree. I totally appreciate what Gunn was trying to convey but this particular pic probably should have come along side a more cleaner heroic pic. With that said time to move on; if this is truly an All Star Superman that we will be getting IMO most will be happy. Now let's get a reveal for Mr Terrific, Hawkgirl, Guy and Metamorpho!!!!!

The LotR Trilogy is genuinely perfect for me so I'm excited but let's not act like Peter Jackson is infallible, his career since King Kong (which I love but isnt unanimously popular) hasn't been spectacular. Can completely understand the criticisms of Rings of Power but as a whole I think the first series is superior to the Hobbit Trilogy

sorry, but the whole “we don’t see Superman suiting up“ is total BS. Throughout most of his comic continuity, we see panels of him dressing in the Superman costume, whether it be in an alley in a car or a telephone booth, which most the time it is, but the point is that there’s no sense of urgency in James Gunn’s photo. the city is in peril and he’s taking his time suiting up in a skyscraper? The reason people keep putting that pose just on the Kent Farm as a backdrop is that it makes sense if he’s taking his time getting up in the morning to go fight all day. It just doesn’t make sense him being all chill while the cities in danger like that. maybe him taking a boot off the end of the day looking down at a peaceful world is a better version of this photo.

Andy Serkis directing and starting in a LOTR Gollum (my favorite character) movie - gets nothing but FUCKING YES! From me. The issue with Harry Potter has nothing to do with Harry Potter - it's the creator who's presence looms over the entire project. Plus with her personal feelings now towards Daniel Ratcliff & Emma Watson for their stance on her trans comments... I'm not interested in some 'reactionary' story from her that's going to completely exclude the leads (who if we're being completely honest, everyone literally watched HP for in the first place). Nah, I'm good on Potter if she's going to be over it.
