When I was 12, I listened to them on my Walkman every day after school while watching cartoons. When I listen to them, I not only feel 12 again, but also think of Alvin and the Chipmunks.😄
Such a beautiful ballad! "Stand Up Kick Love Into Motion", "Tonight", "Heaven Is", "White Lightning", "I Wanna Touch U" are other favorites of mine from Adrenalize! Great album from start to finish!
Love - I Wanna Touch You. Fun to sing out loud to and it has that anthem kick that makes your hand curl up into a fist as your shoulders and knees bounce. Yep, I’m gonna have to listen to it next now. 💃
"Two steps behind" is a good acoustic ballad "Miss you in a heartbeat" a good piano ballad. "High n dry (Saturday night)" and "Me and my wine" are good heavy rockers
I'll admit that they mellowed out as they got older, but even their ballands rocked. It's like you can 'see' them grow up in their music. You can see how they went from just ripping at your eardrums with some infectious beats and rhythms, then as they grew you can see the thought and talent that went into every sound they produced. From the background vocals to the transitions and it just amazes me every time how damn good they are.
My thoughts are similar. It started with Mutt producing their sound to the best quality it could be and them having to replicate it Live to the point it became them. They collaboratively produced the music and as they grew older their music matured individually and together. We experienced music right along with them. Def Leppard has always been about Sex, Love and Music. Started out with subtle but in your face rebelliousness then went on to the heartbreak and grief of ‘adulting’ and now they are older, wiser and remastered. 😁
The great thing about Def Leppard is that even their ballads retain that unique Def Leppard sound. As far as rock ballads go this one stands up. Off of the ADRENALIZE album in 1992, this album produced some really great songs - "Let's Get Rocked" & "Make Love Like a Man", which you reacted to. But there are songs like - "White Lightening" & "Stand Up Kick Love into Motion", "I Wanna Touch You" that are also highlights. This was just another one of the Def Lep albums that was great from start to finish.
Oh this is after Steve Clark passed. You can see Vivian Campbell in this video. I loved Steve, so sad to lose him so young. RIP Steve, hope you found peace.
The eighties, sex drugs and rock and roll!!!!! What a time to be young! So many great bands, such good music, that's what we lived for! Concerts, real music, live shows that changed the music seen forever!!!! And the power ballad, some of the greatest songs of all time!!! There's not one thing I could think of better than partying with 20 thousand of your closest friends!!!!!
I’ve always had mad respect for Def Leppard. I remember when Rick Allen was in the car accident that took his arm. He said he wouldn’t come back until he was BETTER than before and his band mates respected that and they did come back even better!
This takes me right back to high school! Adrenalize was my album. I played it nonstop, so thank you! You all are great, thank you so much and have a great evening.
It's so cool to see younger people appreciate the music that i literally grew up on (been a fan since i was 10 back in the 80s!). The're a band with multi-generational fans, and it is well-deserved because the music is great, plus they *continue* to make new awesome songs. What's even better is that when you go see a live show you're hearing a group of men that perform just as they do on the music you listen to at home--what you hear 'on record' is absolutely what you get at a live show, and it's a show without gimmicks because they don't need to rely on that. If you ever get the chance to see them, do it. You will not regret it! 😊
This is one of my all-time favorite Def Leppard songs, I feel this song so much. I've seen them in concert twice, once for the Adrenalize album tour, and the other time was the Slang tour. The fact that Jay loves Def Leppard so much makes me very happy.
Beautiful song... Legends!! No group like them... Just have their own unique sound! Thanks Jay and Amber.. love you guys!! Great fun to tune in to u guys.. You're a great couple and great fun!!
"Gods of War", "Don't Shoot Shotgun", "Hello America" and one you will love would be their cover version of a song by the band 'Sweet' (which we all know you love) called "Action"
Everytime you guys do Def Leppard I have to suggest again and again their latest stuff either “Kick” or “Take What You Want” - you’ve got to hear them in their 60’s trust me ❤
A ballad to chill things down. And a good one too. 1992..I was deep into life with my wife & soulmate then. Such a wonderful song to play when we went somewhere. Miss that girl SO much. 5 years on without her and its as raw as it ever was.
i show my kids your reactions.i love you and they do showing generations and all people great music!thank you amazing your family and this great idea and honesty you all show.keep it up!
Gods of War would be a great one. I'd also throw in "Undefeated", "Kick" "Fire It Up", "Take What You Want", "Hello America", or even the new versions of "Animal" or "Love Bites" done with an orchestra (also the "Gods of War" with the orchestra would be awesome).
Awesome song. If you noticed that the really blond guitarist Steve Clark was not in the video, he passed in 1991 when the album was done but the videos had not been made yet. They got a new guitarist. Still a great group.
Hi, I have commented before about you guys doing the best def leppard reactions, we all appreciate it! There is a particular u tube performance of " 625" in Japan from a concert on Nov. 4th 2023. This performance song is all instrumental, it features just guitars and drums, and they all play insanely. At the very end, when it's over, the drums start up. I have never seen someone with 1 arm, much less 5, I'm not exaggerating one bit, you might fall off your chair! I had assumed that after Rick's accident, he would never be able to do this again, it's just incredible. This particular person did the whole show and the best views of them, and the incredible backdrops, which feature scenes from some videos, like for "photograph" there are photos of them throughout their career, and "animal" has an amazing carnival backdrop. I saw them last year in Seattle Washington, and I'm going next year for def leppard, journey, and cheap trick, at least it's cheap trick where I'm going, in some states the band is heart, or steve Miller band. I wish it was heart in my state, heck, I don't even live in Washington, I live in eugene oregon, but it's worth the trip to see them. They have been together since 1977, and rick was only 15 years old. They were opening up for acdc on his 16th birthday, and drank a cup of tea with bon Scott to celebrate! I think Phil just turned 66, he's better than ever, and I don't know how they don't have arthritis cuz I'm over 60 and I sure do! , also, besides sticking with ri k, they also have been there for vivian Campbell, who has had Hodgkins lymphoma since 2013, he has gone through reoccurring, stem cell transplants, and many cancer treatments still to this day, that's part of the reason I love to see them. When they co-headline with someone else, they alternate who closes that night because I like watching them later that night, as the backdrop is well lit, and the equipment doesn't show up. That one in Japan was dark.(I thought joe sounded winded the first couple songs, my husband thinks I'm wrong. Sorry about rambling on, I just follow info about them occasionally. One more thing, I stumbled apon a abc news channel about rick. He isn't just a drummer, he's an artist who's paintings sell for 10s of thousands of dollars, with part of the proceeds going to wounded warriors project, and is also spending time with wounded warriors, and also raven drum foundation which he started years ago after the accident.he gets very emotional, and if you don't shed a tear, you're not human! It's on u tube.i got inspired to write all of this after seeing that Japan performance that popped up on my phone today. Keep doing what you do!
This song is like an anthem. "Have you ever needed someone so bad? Have you ever wanted someone you just couldn't have?" Why yes, yes I have. Story of my life. The last time I wanted to ask a girl out, she died before I had the chance. Yesterday was the anniversary of her passing.
DON FELDER - Heavy Metal ( Takin' A Ride ) from 1981 Spectacular Guitar Intro . And Spectacular song ever. DON FELDER member of. The group The Eagles doing his solo singing and fantastic guitar playing and in this song shows how awsome and creative his band is 🎸
I grew up in the 70s and 80s graduated HS in 84 and I think the mid 70s 80s and early 90s was the greatest time in the history of Rock, Pop, alternative and Country music of all time. Alabama saved Country music groups like Def Leapard Bon Jovi MICHAEL JACKSON and 100s more made being a teen back then so much fun not to mention the beautiful Big hair all the hot girls had . Bring back the 80s ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Adrenalize is hands down my fave def leppard album ever, EVERY song on it is great, its like hysteria 2.0. Stand up kick love into motion and I wanna touch you, white lighting. omg its so good
Good one fun fact this album was unfortunately done in a 4 piece after the tragic death of Steve Clark in 1991 but Phil helped channel Steve through the recording process and I'm happy how this album came out and continued til this very day
Two Steps Behind always makes me cry; not just the lyrics and delivery but also the orchestral strings in the background that ramp up the emotion. If you want me to like a band that I normally wouldn’t, put an orchestra behind them and I’ll give them a chance. IE: Metallica. 😉 I wonder if that thought crossed Mutt Lange’s mind.
That whole “Adrenalize” album from 1992 is awesome. This song I remember buying a cassette single of for like 4 or 5$ at Sam Goody in the mall. I was 13 that year. Great memories 😃
I thank you two from the bottom of my heart ❤.. as i sit in my misery and downing every pill i can take without overdosing here you 2 come to get me out of my misery even if it's just for a moment ❤ thank you
Check out ( T-Rex - 20th Century Boy! ) Def Leppard did this song in later years, but check out the original T-Rex first then you could check out Def Leppard's
I've noticed the two of you have listened to quite a few songs by this band. Have you ever listened to "Two Steps Behind"? That is one of my favorite songs by Def Leppard.
This is from Adrenalize the first album after the untimely passing of Steve Clark. Made as a four piece. Vivian Campbell, their current second guitar, appears in the video but was not on the album. The same way he is in the famous Whitesnake 87 videos and didn't take part in that album either.
Def Leppard lead singer Joe Elliott is in the documentary "Fanny: The Right to Rock". He talks about his favorite Fanny song "Blind Alley". Hope you will spotlight Fanny on Female Friday once more.
Def Leppard is amazing!! This album “Adrenalize” is hard for me to listen to because this was the first album after Steve Clark’s death. I can’t remember if you guys reacted to this song yet, but “Let’s Get Rocked” is off this album as well that’s a good rockin song!! 🤟🤟🤟
Hi Jay and Amber, AC/DC do indeed have a ballad, it's a song called Ride On, You need to check out the original with Bon Scott on vocals , it's stunning, Bon wrote the song himself 😄😄 This Def Leppard song is from the 1992 album Adrenalize 😄😄
Here’s an interesting selection to do a reaction to. It is a folk song from years ago. Mary Hopkin is the singer, and the name of the song is Those Were the Days.
They have some great ballads. Another song of their’s that you should do next is “Stand Up (Kick Love Into Motion)”. It is one of my favorites off of the Adrenalized album. This was their last big selling album. Changing music styles in what was being played on radio at the time had put a drop in the sale of their albums after that. They changed their sound for one of their next albums, “Slang” and it caused a lot of controversy with the old hard core fans. I even had a time with it when it first came out but I’ve learned to appreciate it now with time.
I concur that is such an amazing track. Really hope they react to that soon! To Be Alive off the Euphoria album would be another amazing one I'd love them to react to as well.
Good 👍. Written by Joe Elliott, Phil Collen and Mutt Lange. Produced by Def Leppard and the late Mike Shipley, RIP. No relation to retired MLB baseball player Craig Shipley although both are from Australia 🇦🇺. This is a tribute to their fallen member Steve Clark. 😢 RIP. Thus, Collen filled his role in addition to the normal role. Vivian Campbell joined Def Leppard. Too late for the recordings but in time for the tour. Thereafter, he became a regular member. 😃 Suggested video 📹: Stand Up Kick Live into Motion.
