Welcome to the world of Liliac (pronounced Lily-Ak). They are the masters of covers but they also have some amazing originals. Sam (lead guitar) is 24, Abigail (drums) is 23, Melody (lead vocals and sometimes bass) is 21, Ethan (bass and rhythm guitar) is 17, and Justin (keyboard) is 15. The Cristea family was from Los Angeles but moved to Georgia. The father Florin Cristea, and mother Nineta, were born in Romania. Both their families moved to the United States when the two were children. They met in the US and were married and began their family thereafter. The word Liliac is Romanian for Bat. They began as the Cristeas when Sam was about 13 years old. At that time, it was just Sam, Abigail, and Melody, as the two boys were really too young. They did covers. As they gained their confidence and stage presence, the crowds grew bigger and bigger until the police had to have them stop because the crowds were getting too big. They have turned down several record company offers to remain independent and control their own destiny. Papa Liliac (Florin) shoots and produces the videos and Sam does the editing. If you want to go in order, Crazy Train was their first video, then this one, The Trooper, then one of their originals Chain of Thorns, around this time Melody teaches Ethan bass so she can move around while singing. Hello my new young friend. I've been a little aloof lately. Looks like we have a mutual friend with CaptinFaceBeard. I think I sorta turned him and Heather onto Liliac. Welcome to the World of Liliac! This young band busked on the Santa Monica pier very young for 5 years every weekend. Look up Crazy Train for the pier footage. I first heard them on the World's Best show playing Rainbow in the Dark. MeloDia found DIO at 15 and he is her main inspiration. No one covers DIO quite like Liliac. For future shock check out their current Heaven and Hell cover. Vinny Appice (Black Sabbath/DIO drummer) has said she is the reincarnation of a female DIO. Check her out with Vinny at his Sabbath Knights show singing Country Girl. Liliac has covers, however they have 1 EP Chain of Thorns, Queen of Hearts album, and Maddness Album all originals. It's like the pier, you get a mix with them. Nice correction on their name. It means bat in Romanian. Their parents are Romanian born emigrated to the US as children.
