Andor is a slower pace for Star Wars but I enjoy it myself. The transfer on 4k is beautiful! The physical media chart was stronger for 4k this week. I hope it continues to gain steam.
I really like the 4K if you like movies feeling very digital and clean. Some people like film grain though so just depends what you prefer. How do you like your disc transfers looking?
@@megamikethemovieman I’ve never given it much thought. I don’t know much about the subject of transfers. However, I’ve heard that film quality can be close to 4K.
@@Eva01-jy2qu7pu9r True Lies is one of my favorite movies. I used to watch it with my father, who has since passed away. It’s possible that my fondness for the movie might just be associated with my memories of him.
Great update! I would be curious to see numbers showing how the boutique label sales compare with the mainstream titles. I realize it would be a smaller number but curious how they are doing.
@@megamikethemovieman I have Crimson Peak on the Way. I really had to cut back on buying the last couple of months. Last boutique titles were from Kino sale. Picked up The Boogens, Kindergarten Cop and Face/Off. We took a vacation beginning of month, so had to save money for it. Then on way home, got in accident and totaled car. Had to car shop again (quickly). So past couple weeks have been pretty stressful.
@@megamikethemovieman Thanks! I haven't watched The Boogens 4K yet. The last time I watched it was on VHS (which I still have). I loved it back then. So interested if it still holds up today. Hoping to get some movies done this weeke and get more reviews up. I have been slacking! LOL
What? No horror movies?😭 Well now those sell numbers look like 2024. But 4Ks look a bit high. It seems DVD tv series sales have taken a nose dive. Physical media sales in general the income? Still have ways to go before the dust settles.🤔
@megamikethemovieman come to think about it no there's not any horror movie coming out these days. I think a simpler version of Cemetery Man 4K came out I think but that's about it.
@megamikethemovieman you'll also find it under the title Dellamorte Dellamore. Some people say it's Michelle Soavi's best movie. It's a zombie movie of another kind. You should also check out his The Church which is my favorite of his movies.
Well the bluray & 4k sale charts are better. And I think the sales will get a little better between now and in July. Bc there are some big hitters coming. And there is some nice catalog titles that are coming out. Like narc & thunderheart & twister & Beverly hills ninja that will help drive some of the sales. But I think dune part 2 & Godzilla Kong 2 will be big for the bluray & 4k sales to jump up little more in sales. But there is still alot more room to make the sales charts even higher. If the small labels & studios just release more first time catalog titles on bluray or 4k
@@megamikethemovieman yes bc I have been waiting for a bluray release of thunderheart and narc on 4k & twister on 4k & Godzilla & dune part 2 on 4k. But I will most likely not get Beverly hills ninja on bluray. Bc i thought it was ok but not a movie I would rewatch or own
It blows me away that the majority of Americans (I assume these are US or US/Canada stats) still buy DVDs over Blu-Ray or 4K. I get 4K not having really high numbers. Not everyone is a videophile or has the right hardware. But regular Blu-Ray is so vastly superior to DVD and quite inexpensive and doesn't require high end hardware.
Ya I’m not sure why so many still pick up DVD. Do you think it’s because of name recognition alone? Like common people always just say everything is a DVD.
@@megamikethemovieman I really have no idea. You would think only poor people would still buy DVDs, but those people pretty much just watch Netflix these days.
Any sales are a good thing for physical media. Long live physical media. Surprisingly, the expensive Disney steelbooks are sold that good. Andor is boring, obi-wan kenobi is better but $40+ Disney has lost its mind again.
It seems the price aren’t keeping many people away which is why they continue to charge more and more. If I didn’t get them discounted through Disney movie club, I wouldn’t have got them at that price. Do you think other studios will start to charge more too?
@megamikethemovieman Idk Disney titles seem to cost more. Around $20 for a new title would be good. Other studios titles or less I hope that they don't do what Disney is doing. I think Disney is charging that much to make up for their flops at the theaters and no one watching Disney +.
@@djhaack9239 I get worried since Lionsgate raised theirs prices so much. Hopefully other studios won’t. Do you think more will switch to slipcovers if prices continue to rise?
