I remember before the fight, Chavez was angry at Greg about something he said so Chavez said he would not knock him out right away for the purpose of punishing him for a number of rounds, and he did.😢

Haugen himself said he wouldn’t have beaten Chavez but should have performed better. He was going through a lot of personal stuff and didn’t train well for this fight and it showed.
no.. he was in good shape.. if not, he would've been out in the first or second round... he had stamina, and enough oxygen to last all those rounds... it wasn't a supreme beating he got from chavez, h was simply outclassed.. in other words, chaves was much better.. and it became obvious.
@@jgar6643 It *was* a supreme beating, Chavez purposely avoided knocking him out cold so he beat up his body for as long as Haugen could withstand. To his credit, Haugen took the beating like a man and helped sell the fight, which became one of Chavez most memorable.
Greg came from Auburn Washington , he boxed there at the Auburn Elks club , best fighters in the state and most excellent counter punchers and it didn't work for greg this time around , AUBURN ELKS NUMBER 1 IN THE STATE OF WASHINGTON
Say what you want about Haugen but no one can deny his courage. Going into the ring with the vast majority of a 132,000 nationalistic crowd against you... Chavez is great but Haugen had guts.
