That thing's a blowtorch! Main duties; hunting and eliminating destroyers using radar and hydro-acoustics, and causing general havoc for everything else. One of these nearly cleaned my clock while in my Fletcher.
Great review. Your honesty about the ship is needed. The hype for it is real but I know people who’ve grinded to it, obtain it, and then loathe it. The torps are brutal too. Popping around an island in this to launch them is hysterical, though most likely suicidal. Good vid as always.

I’m running Scott with the perk that lets you know how many ships are targeting you it seems to help me get away because you’re right about it being a glass canon. Also it absolutely eats destroyers. Thanks for the review.
Almost have her unlocked. I'm at 72 now. Atlanta is a frustrating foe to face. When I see one of these things anywhere near me I make it a point to remove it from the battle, but that's not always immediately possible. When a player positions this ship well, it can rain an incessant hail of infuriating fire upon me, and my salvos have difficulty hitting their mark. When I get Atlanta I'm going DD hunting. Those mosquitoes are frustrating too. I like to play battleships, and since my cruiser shipmates seldom target destroyers, I've gotten pretty dang good at hitting them with my massive main batteries from quite some distance. I don't want to be shooting DDs with my BB, but it's necessary if I wish to remain in the fight. If used to counter the destroyers, I think Atlanta can be a real game-changer. Sounds like you will probably be there next week. As for the rest of it, you're right at the core of it. The Atlanta is the most-glass most-cannon ship in the game right now. Maybe the easiest to delete, but also an annoying little terror.
Worth noting that the design was originally intended as a leader for destroyer flotillas (as with certain Japanese CLs), and that the last few of this class omitted the torpedo tubes completely. Good video. Atlanta is an interesting ship to play, but an especially difficult one to play well. I think it functions best as fire-support for an organised group, preferably on Base Defense. On its own, it tends towards a very brief but often spectacular lifespan. Oh, and I have torp-killed a Battleship with mine (and survived) - but I got lucky.
The “Hot” lanta is right! It’s super annoying for anyone on the receiving end, but such a joy to rain fires down on other ships while at the helm! And wow what a cash cow! Love this ship flaws and all
People really underestimate low caliber AP like the 5 inch guns on Atlanta. On the contrary, if you shoot this AP at superstructures, it is almost guarunteed to have a full penetration inside the ship. This is especially relevant when shooting at quite a lot of the Battleships you see at tiers 5-7. And turning the broadside bow or stern of a close range Battleship to Swiss cheese can work as a last resort measure in a pinch.
I can relate, but it is the nature of the ship, and probably why Atlanta's get singled out as strongly as they do. I can remember desperately ramming my Colorado into an island to try to eliminate the ceaseless onslaught of fire.
I spent 250 doubloons on a Black Friday crate last night, opened it up, and an Atlanta came out. Needless to say I was shocked. It costs 11.25M credits on PS4.
I finally got Atlanta last night and about my 5th game I set a new personal record for credits earned. 760 k. I was using a credit boost but I use them on all my high tier premium ships. I've never broke 640k before. So, yeah, this ship can crank the credits. Edit - I was able to back it up with a 768k last night.
On t65, really hoping I get Norman Scott before hand. Also could you double check about burn it down XXL working on this ship? Gun caliber is 127mm, not 140mm.
You don’t have to fire your guns in sequence. Just double tap R2 to fire all guns. Also, do you think the atlanta will be available again soon? I’ve ran into many of them but it seems you can’t buy one.
I'm running mine with Scott at lvl 11 with lvl 16 Sims and lvl 12 Madden as inspirations. HP is at 29420 for the moment until i reach legendary status with Sims. Reload is steady at 5 seconds and traverse at 7 with a 13km range. I'm running Scott with Beyond Range, Igniter, Punch Through and Fixated but no legendary status yet. I can citadel cruisers at close range with AP with ease and probably even better with Yamamoto as inspiration but since Scott is my main cruiser guy then i use Madden instead of Yamamoto for the Pensacola plus i erase destroyers with HE no problem and its makes a lot of money and so as the Indianapolis, Kidd and Blyscawica. They're my money makers and I've got a video on my channel to prove it. As for parts I'm running ASM.1, PM.2 and TASM.1.
Mustang_ HR yes, i’ve could of gotten 7k but i got cheated using the New Mexico, i just need one citadel, the enemy ship had a full broad side exposure, i shoot a full salvo and majority of my AP Shells ricocheted, then after i get sunk by torpedos.
I use: Aiming Systems Mod 1. - far and away the better choice. Steering Gears Mod 2 - I'd argue the best choice since fire/flooding aren't typically what kill you, and my engine seems to hold up pretty well. Concealment Mod 1. - If for no other reason than the increase dispersion coming in. I could see an argument for Target Acquisition, but I wouldn't use Steering Gears Mod. 3.
@@toxicbarf1419 It looks like there's going to be an op to earn as much as 300 gold this weekend. If you can get that (not sure what it is, just that it will be hard) and all the remaining weekly renown, then I think you could boost the 1 rank that you'd need.
