Great review. Building a site in English, but I live in the Canary Islands, Spain and will do local business, so I need to have my site translated to Spanish also. Thanks so much. When I pull the trigger on the site, I will come back and purchase thur you affiliate links.

Hi Adam, Nice tutorial, but i find myself struggling when it comes to translating the Header section. i think it has something to do with the 'Conditions' because both are set to display on entire site... Can you please help me on how to get this resolved? PLEASE! thank you, great video

Thank you for the intro, but I think it should note a few more things in the setup options, such as where to store the languages. i.e. Domain, or Su domain, or directories, as this is very important at the beginning. You also say that it doesn’t do machine translation, but it does. You do need to do each string individually, but it is there as standard, or advanced translator. Cheers

Hi Adam, I am asked to translate a website with WPML. Due to safety, the client wants the work to be done on a staging website instead of the live site. He will then move the staging site to replace the live site. My question is that, wouldn't this cause issues with the registration? As the url of the staging website is different.

Hi Adam, even if I already purchased WPML, I am in doubt if to activate it or simply duplicate the website, but with the second language (Chinese). According to your previous experience, how much does it influence the loading speed? My site is on my cloud server and I do not have problems to increase memory or to use an even faster cpu, since to upgrade my server resources is just matter of one click (and few bucks).

Hello Adam:-) thanks for your video. When I use wpml with elementor something strange is happening. When I'm on the classic editor it gets stuck on the gear icon, but when I switch to the advanced editor it resets everything I've done in Elementor in terms of design and screen adjustments. I also have a few places I changed the translation and it returns the old translation. Do you know the problem and how can I fix it?

If you need a child theme you would need to have that active. However these days not everyone needs a child theme, most people actually don't.

Hi, Could somebody tell me how the memory usage of this plugin is? I have heard people complain about extremely high memory usage. I would be interesting in how the memory usage is after e.g. 6 months or 12 months of usage (small to medium website).

I have bought WPML and since then my page had slown down immense. Trying to figure out what exactly is the problem but I checked with some sql query tools and the main problem what slows down my whole page is sadly WPML. That beeing sad I'm building up my page and have litterally NO items NOR huge pics on my website

Thanks Adam. I am building a website with two languages: Arabic & English. In addition to translating the text, the pages should change alignment - RTL in Arabic and LTR in English. Is this issue taken into account when talking about WPML, Or maybe I should care for that separately?

Well, I didn't need to do anything. As the theme (GP in my case) has its rtl.css file with style.css file, whenever I added the language the pages aligned automatically to the right or to the left depending on the language. Sometimes we'll need to do some fixes and fine tunings.. But at this moment everything worked great.

Hey, thanks for the video. It's great as the other one, I watched. What does it mean that the WPML plugin is available for unlimited websites? If I have 10 websites, can I implement it in all 10 of them with just one purchase?

Yes that is exactly what it means Martin. You can use it on unlimited websites for you and if you have clients, for them as well.

That's sounds great, however it is strange. If I make one time purchase, I can resell it many times to others for half price. Not sure, if they think there could be such abuses.

You can even change the name and sell it as your own if you wanted. Read up on the GPL.

Because this video is a year old I don't know if Adam or anyone else will pick this up. But there is an option called Gtranslate which has what appears to be a reasonable pricing structure. Frankly I know little about it and have not used it. If anyone has an opinion on it, please share it. gtranslate.io/

Hello, Adam. I've not used WPML for quite a while now, and it seems to me like a lot of things have changed since 2015. :-) I am currently translating 100 product pages into two other languages, and the new methods has me puzzled. If I use Translation Management to bulk duplicate the product pages, I can't figure out where to manage them afterwards. They appear in the WooCommerce product directory of the language, but when i click 'edit' to open them, a bunch of tabs show up - but I just wanted to translate the text on the product... :-) If I instead go to the default language product page and hit the '+' to translate, I go through the same translation proces as in your video. But when I save it, the translation is nowhere to be found afterwards. I can see it is made by the icon, but I can't figure out where to see/edit the translated product page. What makes it more confusing to me, is that with this method, the translated product pages don't show up in the product directory of the other languages. I don't get it, even though the right procedure is probably staring me in the face. :-) Any ideas to what I am doing wrong? - Thanks for great videos.

You're absolutely amazing and i learned a lot from you. I have a question, i am using listfy theme and used wpml to translate the site. The listing categories seem to be duplciated on the homepage, even though they are only entered in once on the back end. Theyre duplicated for both languages ( english and arabic). The product categories seem to have the string translation in wpml, but i for listing categories, im not sure what i am doing wrong. any help for would be appreciated. site is lagaito.com

Great! WPML looks great, but for a lot of people Polylang will be enough.

Yes very true, especially if you are not using a page builder.

Even if you do use a page builder its pretty easy to change the text fast. I use BB with UABB and the UABB modules cant be translated with the WPML page builder addon.

does Polylang not support Elementor?

It does but in a different way. So the way it works with that plug-in is you have to duplicate the entire page, then go in via Elementor and manually change out all the text. The negative I see with this is whenever you want to make design changes you have to remember to make it on both versions of the same page. It's just not as manageable.

Great video, what about setting cross domain with elementor and wpml? I would really love to see that and the only thing I found about it was a ticket issue: wpml.org/forums/topic/cross-domain-issue-with-elementor-plugin/
