Excellent production! Bravo! The bad Russian guy with the huge stacks, the nice American underdog with an unfulfilled dream, the super comeback... I almost believed it was real :)) Great product advertisement, must be one of the best I've ever seen!
If you saw Mike play and win his bracelet , you would have seen the true friendship they had as Vince was the NOT so unbiased commentary. I loved how Vince, did not hide who he was rooting for. Still makes me smile.
Haha I guess i did not respond to your post, I hope they did get paid well. They brought so much to the game and truly educated us in ways of the game. As a team of commentators , they in my humble opinion did a lot to bring more people to the game.
@@trevormiles5852 yes I seen that. and I LOVED THAT. I hate when commentators have to be unbiased. thats no fun it was cool to see them have a voice and opinion too.
I was watching a WSOP event today and they had two annoying commentators talking about everything but the game. Conversely, the WPT events with Jim and Vince were so well done. You felt the excitement and other emotions by their voices. They were so informative, you could enjoy the match just listening to the audio.
I agree these guys taught me a lot and I got bold enough to open an account with pure play poker and absolute poker. on a free role I came in second out of 5030 and won some smaller ones. both went out of business I had some pays I lost because of was saving for a bigger cash out.
What are the values of the different chips? If you want new viewers to watch your channel...then post the chip value on the screen! Is that asking too much?
I wonder if it is against the rules to move your cards toward the middle like you are going to fold but have a single chip on cards as a protector. Venessa did that to try to gauge Anthony's reaction. Similar to a string bet I think.
It's angle shooting. Bad etiquette but not against the rules, as her cards didn't go over the line. I might have said something to her like, "Even with the card cap, you almost crossed the line there." Just so she'd know that I saw what she was trying to pull. Her greatest strength is also her greatest weakness: she simply can't stop herself from being uber-agressive. She'd made $8m up to that point with that style of play, but other players had woken up to the fact that she overplays her hands too often and calling her is profitable long term, as long as you have the goods, or you're not playing for your entire stack. She was ahead of the curve on aggression back when everyone else was playing pretty tight. That's what got her into the hall of fame; by being by far the most successful female tournament player. But, I'm not sure she has been able to adjust her game, as I haven't seen her final table to often in the past few years.
Selbst has definitely the worst attitude of any poker player I have ever seen. She seems to be poised at all times, ready to do the worst possible thing to harm the game in any way.
@@goatamongsheep4296 Her and Mike "The Mouth" are cringey and I can't stand watching either of them. Neither of them know how to adjust their game and then whine and complain about the opponent that beats them. How many times has Selbst said "They're targeting me! They're gunning for me!" She even did this to one of her good friends. She's an entitled brat and so is Mike.
Since it takes significant skill to understand ones' own shortcomings, it is not uncommon for the amateur to look at the professional AND THINK THEY CAN DO A BETTER JOB.
I think she is actually a good player but I find her very unlikeable with her arrogance , she acts like she should never lose a pot & everyone else is an idiot when they beat her.
I spend all my money on poker so I make sure I can never afford to travel on those expensive vehicles called airplanes! Plus, I help keep the planet green by giving all my money to poker instead of spend on the gasoline!
I totally feel that Vanessa's somewhat unorthodox play went against her tonight. The two hands that she went all in. Should have been played later in the game. Protecting her chip lead And a more powerfull hand to go All on. It lost her the tournament. Just my opinion ion.
Vanessa Selbst...main skill is going all in and relying on people not wanting to risk their tournament lives, then getting lucky when they do. Does she do anything else? Oh yeah, calling all in with 2 overs.
oh yeah. and winning. and think she is not playing anymore. My spider sense tells me she knows just enough to dodge some talents on the table but not really a great player. Says me who has not won 8 million dollars in Poker. More power to her, if that works for her.
@@trevormiles5852 Yes, but I think if you play poker full time you win some tournaments or get close regularly. Do you feel like she has made so much money that she decided she doesn't need poker anymore, or that she hasn't been doing much apart from losing for years and decided to run.
@@ML-sj3gi Or partner in life has enough money for both. or, like many of us, she may not be a one trick pony and has more than poker to fall back on. My unsubstantiated feel was when she went all in with A 8 and he had A j was that she was bummed out with a more of a How dare you call me, your supposed to fold. attitude . When she had good chance of winning she did not look the least elated she might win. ( did not feel like looking up exactly what low cards were but you get the gist) . loosing for years has a funny way of helping you make a choice to quit. I do not think she is good enough or personable enough to get endorsements. I can only imagine how the poker tour life is like. TBH I never really thought of the back life of poker tour life until i spoke to you.. Must be pretty interesting and one heck of challenge for a home family life. Thanks for new perspective.
Like at 38:45, you could easily distinguish the educated person from a , let’s say a “sales person” who would cheat and lie to u and put a mask on and sell u a Kia yet make it sound like a rolls Royce. When I play poker at casinos, u could easily see the guy who sleeps at the casino and the one who is there just to enjoy gambling. Cong Pham is that guy who sleeps at casinos.. like the facial expressions, the movements, looking up in the sky and acting like he saw some numbers, etc, just someone you think has mental retardation just by looking at his movements.. 😂😂😂
She a gambler its seems to me. You see that one cash game she played and lost 300000 with like 8 3 off suit. It was bad but she is good but just put alot of risk when she plays
Not really overraed. She just makes foolish plays. At the worst times. And doesn't wait to play the really good hands. She got lucky a couple of hands. But made two foolish all in hands that that caught up to her. The object is to protect your chip lead in my opinion, and only bet the strong hands.
