@@Knytewish I'm a speedrunner, and I play the game normally. I don't like that people use glitches of any kind in a glitchless category. Makes the whole thing look scuffed.
@@Knytewish I only do them live, and right now I'm working on a different project, playing every NA release in the NES/SNES/GB/GBC libraries. I've come and gone my friend :) Will still do some runs from time to time on off days though! My PB WITHOUT glitches OR quitouts is 56 minutes on NG+7, any%. Slower than the WR, but I'm actually not running any glitches :)
For anyone does not understand why some glitch are allowed. The general rule of thumb is: if some minor glitch does not skip bosses and only skip running time, it would be allowed. That is why the Farron keep jump is allowed. It does not skip any boss and only skip the ladder. same rule can be applied to the sword fast health regen glitch. It does not skip boss, only give you the option to heal as you run.
@@thedeadcannotdiehe's not gonna be able to wrap his mind around the meaning of glitchless and is just arguing semantics. People like that should be ignored.
The idea was that if a mechanic is used as intended but not the outcome, it is an exploit and not a glitch: Rolling trough damage is used to negate it - therefore, rolling trough fall damage is an exploit and not a glitch
On the farron keep ladder, textures unload, which allows the player to jump down. It is not a glitch, yet an exploit. Exploits do not count as glitches. Summoning Sword Master for Vordt is not a glitch for instance, it is just a game feature
Sage can't disappear if he still has one soul mass. It's very difficult but you rotate sage so the last soul mass stays attached to the sage and get the one cycle
i dont get how their sections are so much ahead in time usually speedruns are like 3-5 seconds ahead max. also how the time was like 20 seconds faster than the best possible time listed. did something crazy happen to make them go way faster
And that's only in Dark Souls speedruns, too. Other games that feature glitchless categories are verified to be 100% without glitches. But speedsouls is run by noobs, and they don't care enough to have any integrity. They even allow AHK scripts in some cases.
Definitely a glitch due to developer oversight. But people will make up mental gymnastics to shout you down because some people don't think it's a glitch, even though they are blatantly incorrect.
because that sword gives to him 2 HP every time he equip it, he does this to activate the lyod sword ring buff or just to have an safer amount of health
If you trigger phase 2 while standing behind where phase 2 spawns they cannot detect you unless you move out of the spot or hit lorian, lothric can still be hit
@@tyrgarion2730 Mental gymnastics. They simply may not have known, since that particular glitch is a fairly new discovery. It's a glitch, and the only boss in the series that doesn't react from direct hits when out of line of sight.
@thenamelessking375 I think there’s rules set by the community for each speedrun category and they must’ve majority decided that this was an exploit that did not count as a glitch
anri's sword gives regen to him every time he equips it, meaning he does that to fasten the health regen, it's not a glitch but an exploit and it's still valid to the run
amazing DS2 speedrun there. i know some people categorise it as ds3 because of what's written on the menu but for our categorisation purposes calling it ds2 makes more sense
the A.i can't detect him because he stands behind lorian so it froze. it will move if he hits lorian, that is why he only hits lothric, it's not a glitch but an exploit, know the differences
@@owaowa6860 In every other game, the only way to damage a boss, Elden Ring included, without causing aggro, is to use poison/indirect damage. Any direct hit causes the boss to aggro. BUT THIS ONE TIME IS AN EXPLOIT NOT A GLITCH FOR SOME REASON YEAH SURE LUL
Glitchless my ass. And before I hear the "exploit" excuse, what are you exploiting? Not exploiting intended game mechanics, that's for sure. You're exploiting glitches to circumvent intended game mechanics that would otherwise slow you down. 04:00 10:40 23:20 45:56 Apart from that, good run.
Pretty good run. But it is not glitchless at all. I also find it weird how every time they open a door and go back to the menu, they subtract time, I don't think that's fair.
The quit outs every 10 seconds just should not be allowed, at least not in the glitchless category. You are not saving time-you are stopping the clock.
@@DoceAvales I know. It still is wrong for a glitchless category IMO, as that is still using an exploit outside the normal bounds of gameplay, and not just using as a mandatory one off somewhere, but abusing it constantly. Doesn't make for an enjoyable show as well.
@@mazanakaUA I feel you my friend, I feel you, however many other comments just say that no major glitches that allows one to skip bosses are allowed, yet, I can understand your point
@@thestaubmob6877 I don't know if it's like this on Dark Souls 3. But in Dark Souls 1 you can see that, when you choose your character, it says "Play Time". I MIGHT be wrong, but there is no "PLAY TIME" in the MENU because you ARE NOT playing with ANY character and therefore, instead of PLAYING, you're in the MENU, this is why the GAME considers GAME-PLAY, "PLAYTIME", any doubts left?
this is not a glitch, anri straight sword heal tick procs right when you equip it, it restores a small amount of health but it is really useful since you're not losing time anymore with slow estus animation, the only downside is you have to do it while going straight because you can't turn while in inventory
A glitch is a glitch, minor or major. Whether the rules allow it or not, it's not glitches. You yourself call it a minor glitch, which literally means not glitchless.
@@nickmorrison9092he's not going to understand that because his definition of glitchless is different than the speed run category definition. He's just arguing semantics because how he defines things should be superior to how others may define things. He missed the "define key terms" of debate class and the definition fallacy.
