Speedruns are so funny to consider from a canon perspective Hecate is at the cauldron and Dora floats up to her like "MISTRESS HECATE!" She's like "Let me guess, Melinoe died in the first room again?" And Dora is like "NO. SHE FUCKING BEAT HIM"
Well from a canon perspective on fresh file there would be no "again". She would go out and come back on the first night and Hecate would be like you WHAT??? Edit: Nevermind I went to comments before watching the video
I know you skip straight through it for the sake of speed, but it's still pretty cool to know that there's unique dialogue if you reach Chronos without meeting him beforehand
There is! He doesn't recognize you and asks "Who might you be?" I haven't read through the whole thing, but there should be a couple frames with it visible in the run if you pause well enough.
Fun fact: They didn't in the first game, but when they saw how speedrunners were playing the game, they added one. So they were already for it when they made Hades II :)
pro tip, if you try using a locked exit in the 3rd region, it'll give you the arrow towards any unclaimed rewards needed to unlock them so you don't have to wander around looking for it
Yeah that a mistake to take, I wasn't aware at that point that Poseidon Legendary was locked behind story progression, so I just kept trying to find it.
Awesome run! Wish poseidon special spam wasnt meta tho lol. Question, why take the extra chamber in tartarus for poms? Did you feel like you needed more damage for chronos?
I had the Double Up boon from Poseidon, which currently works on poms, so I knew I had a chance for a quick 6 poms, which felt worth the extra chamber.
Theres still a lot of unbalanced stuff in this game really. I know first game had some OP stuff but it was ususally a near finished build, or bugs like "bad news" boon and Beowulf shield with mirage cast. here its more individual stuff thats unbalanced also the mana system feels not fully adjusted. Its early access, so we wait to see whats changed on that aspect.
I don't actually know how much the arcana cost and which would be valuable, but I think it is unlikely to be worth it since you would need to make up any time you spend farming
Firstly, I’m very well aware of you and I’m a fan. I would’ve never considered an Eris push, I love that idea. I also love this run because I’m a big fan of the Poseidon/Hestia duo. But holy bleep is Fields a wild card. I’m guessing you would’ve loved to not see the phantom? And then you had to have been nervous as all hell the last 6 seconds. My god. G fucking G, man.
It's for sure possible - another speedrunner, Sophie, has a segmented clear where she only died because of a bug with the instakill attack where she was inside the circle, and then easily cleared the fight after reloading the save. I'm sure that a full clear is going to happen soon, probably within the week. It's probably not going to be as fast as 3rd or 4th run for a while though, because of the hammers you unlock after the first run.
Do you think that a night 1 would ever be possible? You have to beat the 2/3s of the game without getting hit. I made it a few room in to level 2 on my first night but got hit once and died.
It's actually been done by a handful of people already. The run takes longer because you don't have hammers and you have to play a bit safer, but it's definitely doable.
It's random, but you have a limited god pool in Fresh File, so the odds of seeing a specific god are higher. I just got really lucky this run, although by the end I would have liked to see something other than Poseidon
From my understanding it's to do 3 things: -Unlock the hammers for your weapon (1st death) -Push back Eris from spawning in an earlier biome (3rd death) -Force a Hestia boon to appear as the first one (3rd death)
The gold leaves dont lead to each reward, in my experience. They can help you find the first one maybe, but the other ones don't have leaves leading straight to them
