Yamaha must keep their great job with WR250R and keep it a life for generations to come. I haven't see 2019 WR250R on their website until today. They even replace WR250R with the ugly XT250 as Dual Sport Category Cover/Front page. It seems like WR250R is going to die even though it is the best Dual Sport Motorcycle with a very good looking design.
I still have my YZ250F 02... It's been registered and set up for bush work since it rolled out of the shop. Done multiple Apline rides, desert rides, local rides.... Still on same piston and rings. Been well looked after, but it's also been ridden hard... Suspension is everything when you only have limited power. Getting my suspension done changed my bike like night and day... Didn't even feel like the same bike at all. Could ride it with confidence that nothing scary was going to happen..... of course you end up just riding faster, to the point, something just as scary can happen, but at least you can gather it up 98% of the time. Amazing little bikes.... I can't believe mines still drags my 105kg ass around so quickly.
Personally, I enjoy the camping bit as well, with bonfires, beers, bbq and the tomfoolery around. Of course the riding part is the main course, but some sides would be cool as well. *thumbsup*
Ah, the Finchley track. I did that on Sunday for the first time. The Howes Valley Trail back out to Putty Rd was fantastic, erosion mounds for like 30km to jump over!
Howes Valley Trail and Yango Track were so much fun. One of those erosion mounds is what caught out +Dualsport Hooligan when he jumped almost the whole hill and landed on the next mounds upramp
6:48 you can hear and then see me bouncing my suspension to show how much the swingarm is creaking after which +RidingWithTom says his bike has "literally the worst suspension probably here." haha If there was an award for roughest bike, I think I would have smashed it :P 14:50 "Keep on the gas." haha that's me I kind of got crossed up cause I had to go round the outside of the guy who stopped on the hill, the same guy who went off the corner. I think I need Teknik suspension.
You coulda made me look like an idiot, trying to race 450's myself like a cocky prick and crashing breaking my finger like a fool...but you didn't, you took the high road and left that part out, and I am grateful.🤣😁😆! Great videos Tom. You gained another American fan. I'll see you next year I hope mate
That biker who is in the middle of the road at 1.03- Dont ever ride that close to the centre line, guys when riding "normally".If mr car driver gets distracted for a spit second and "drifts" its all tooooo late at that speed-Not trying to be big headed ,i was a motorcycle courier in London for 22 years, these small things can save your life ,or your ass whichever you prefer...
Question for anyone that may help 😁 I ride a zzr1400 also have a z1000...I'm looking for a enduro not a new one just one for messing around in forest ect but also road legal 250 400 not even sure what size engine would appreciate some advice 😁 great vid ride safe guys from the uk 👍🏻🇬🇧

Hey Tom...been watching your (and Nerbs) videos for ages. Can you tell me what gearing you ran for your Simpson trip ....presume you are still running the same gearing for this ride too? Cheers mate....
Hey Tom awesome video and great riding,,enjoyed watching I bet that custom suspension was sweeeeeeeeet, cyclecruza is having his WR250r done (custom suspension) man that burger looked amazing ,,ride safe my motorcycle brother ,,LIKED (thumbs up)
so 2 questions...which has more power to hit highway speeds...and what can sustain 70MPH better. dont tell me none because my klx250 2018 can do it but its gutless and takes forever to speed up
RideWithWill I have owned both the klx250 and the WR250R, the WR does handle the speed a little better than the Kawa. 6th gear is very tall on the WR and doesn’t really do too well on long hills
That was great Tom, interesting about the difference between STD and technik suspension, still don't know if I buy a new WR and get all the farkles or a Tiger 800
this guys entertaining ! but my god he cant ride for shit ! 9:21 surely thats a troll ? i mean the man can wheelie but enough practice anyone can wheelie on flat surfaces
Latitude thanks I really like both. It will be my first street legal bike that I'll buy myself. I always had a thing for the wrs but didn't know the difference between the crf.
I have a 2015 CRF250L and it is hands down one of the most capable and profitable mules anyone can saddle. I've never had maintenance issues and the only necessary mod for performance was an FMF exhaust and Header. Some call it boring and predictable but I can chug up damn near any hill in first or second gear with no worry whereas a WR250R is going to be screaming to get up. Both have horrible suspension setups if you weight more than 150lbs but ergonomics and comfort on the CRF are superior to the WR in as many ways as I can describe. The only advantage of the WR is more available aftermarket parts. It also looks nicer in my opinion.
