Anderson Ranch Reservoir holds some of the largest Kokanee in Idaho and is conveniently located within striking distance of the state's largest city, Boise. This narrow and long lake consistently produces Kokanee in 15-19" range class with the occasional fish over 20". Low water years and reduced Kokanee numbers have made limits harder to come by the past few years but its still possible to more than 10 lbs of Kokanee in the boat without much effort if you dial in on the right location, speeds, and depths.

NIce! I've been fishing Anderson off and on for nearly 50 years. Got 150 9 inchers in two days once about 30 years ago. The chinook have been a blessing. The last couple years we've had to fight for them a bit. Good to see you get a bunch. Maybe the lake is coming back around.

About 1980, my dad and I once took home our possession limit of 100 fishing Friday eve til Sunday eve. Another trip we fished all morning to land 3 fish. He fixed lunch while I cleaned fish. I got distracted by a big pike minnow under the dock, turned back to see a seagull swallowing the first fish I had cleaned.

Thanks so much for this video. It inspires me. Im in a wheelchair now after murdering more than my share of Puget Sound salmon over the last 60 or so years and I have to ask if it wouldn't be helpful to tell people to sharpen even a new Gomogatzu hook, fresh out of the package, with a small stone before it goes in the water. The repeated lost fish on that Portside rod looked to me just like great hooks that hadn't been honed until they stuck when dragged across the back of a thumbnail. Needle sharp. It's just a thought from an old guy that loves what you're doing but sharpened hooks sure made a big difference to Possession Point Salmon from the mid-fifties until just a few years ago. Probably still do.

Watching right now. Not to sound like an school teacher, Paul-lie-na peak. Used to be one if the greatest lake for kokes. Was an epic battle years ago between Paulina and Wallow lakes for the Oregon state record. 9-10 LB kokes. You are fishing way back. What’s the speed for that lake? The Paulina sling blades fish fast. Had great success with them on Wickiup, before it became the sacrificial res for the spotted frog.
