I liked that what threw Ares off wasn't that Perseus would fight for his son, because he already despised Zeus as a father, but that a son would fight for his father, because suddenly, it was him who was the scumbag who should have been better, and that's why the fight suddenly went out of him.
That kiss on his nephew's forehead was a nice touch.... Fun fact, only a handful of gods actually liked Ares, his uncle Hades, goddess of Strife Eris, and his girlfriend Aphrodite goddess of love - yes, Hephaestus's wife.
@An Li how so? In some tellings she's another daughter of Zeus (he has a lot of children so I guess it's easy to get confused), and in others she was formed out of sea foam and Uranus's genitals when Kronos castrated them and threw them into the sea.
I think ur all forgetting that Perceus is a demi god. He's not as strong as ares no but he's stronger than you think. His head was being kicked through rock and it didn't pop like a gourd
@@lucio7331 he didnt tho. This was the most one sided fight I've seen a protagonist go through. He had to pull out the assassin's creed on Ares. My statement was just to say that people seemed surprised that Percy survived a punch from this man
@@battlefieldaddict8160 in Greek mythology no they can not and u cant have any way to kill then even if u stop praying but in this movie they are fueled by prayers without prayers they get weaker and lose their immortality but when percy jackson fought ares that was complete crap he could never beat Ares Son of Zeus and hera God of war and Slaughter
This is actually fairly ironic. Despite his common portrayal, Ares was actually a fairly descend guy. Most of his myths were recorded orally in Sparta, and about 99% were lost, but about 99% of the remainder have him raining Hell down upon ANYONE who laid so much as a FINGER on ANY of his children. Unlike most of the Greek gods, he genuinely cared about his demigod children. But yeah, guy famous for killing people who hurt his kids gets killed by a father who's kid he hurt? If that ain't irony, I don't know what is.
He did have a history of jobbing to demi gods. Heracles whooped him bad and a bunch of Illiad dudes beat him up. 1v1 he's terrifying but he cant plan fights for shit Athena got that half of the portfolio.
Dragonlover553 Just that Athena was smart enough to never go 1v1 unless she has a massive advantage or knows she'll win (or has daddy for backup cause they actually had a good relationship). Ares would just charge right in.
I'd say its more he was jealous more than anything. You can see he felt like Zeus never cared much for him, I mean the part where he said "so this is what a father would go through for his son" screams a lot.
@@_mi_ch_a_el__4699 Sure, demi-gods are much weaker than full-blood gods, but: 1. Perseus was a demi-god born from Zeus - meaning half of him comes from the King of Olympians himself, making him much stronger than most average demi-gods 2. Ares was hesitating here, as someone else pointed out in the comments - he likely could have killed Perseus with a couple hits from his hammer, but he instead dragged it out to a fistfight; even then, he completely dominated Perseus, of course - but he was probably testing Perseus' resolve and love for his son Helios... because Ares himself wanted to know what it was like for a father to care about and love and protect his son (the way he wanted Zeus to care for him) 3. The Olympians were mostly dead by Wrath Of The Titans, and they were already weakening in Clash because the faith mortals had in them was decreasing; by the second movie, most of them were gone, and the only ones that were still barely hanging on were the strongest of the bunch; Ares was also undoubtedly much weaker here than he was at his full power, which is why Perseus was able to resist him to a small degree 4. Ares probably wanted to die at the hands of his brother - he had no reason to keep on living because he was getting weaker, and his fellow gods were already waiting ahead in oblivion; while the father he hated so much was gonna die once Chronos was revived - meaning Ares had no reason to keep on going, and the only one strong enough to beat him in battle and personally close to him, was Perseus - his brother (and as for why Ares wanted to die in battle, that's because he was the God of War, obviously)
Ares could have killed them both easily. But in a way I think he wanted to die. Perseus was the favorite of zeus and ares hated it. Kinda like a middle child complex. You'll never be first born and you'll never be the youngest so he resented his brother the demigod even more. Half human of a creation his father loved more than his children.
Bagi kami orang hulu sungai jauh. Aku salut dgn film ini. Clash of the Titans menginspirasi di dalam Kehidupan Orang hulu sungai jauh. Ia keren dan membikin mata ku terpesona dan takjub di dalam berani dan takut. Melihat kejadian insiden aneh aneh di dalam Vidio yang ditonton tersebut. Nyata seperti menghayal, menghayal seperti dunia sungguhan.
@@brayden1892 no just watched it looked like he wanted perseus to beat him. He even finished himself off by grabbing and thrusting the spear threw himself it was like the hole fight he was testing perseus to see if he was worthy and continuously punished him but wasn't trying to just kill him he could of done that all different ways he literally starts the fight disarming him and dropping his own weapons and then just brutally throws him around until he sees he wont give up n that it's for his son, but he definitely could have ended him any time it was more like he wanted to see what was so special about him. His half god/human brother who was favored by their father zeus and he didnt see why a half human was considered by zeus to be better which zeus even said himself in the beginning. Again I just watched it I'm not arguing just stating a fact about the movie n u clearly didn't get it cuz u thought that comment was funny. But he was correct.
they should make a third movie, simply based on the titles, maybe call it fall of the Titans? return of the Titans, rise of the Titans, war of the Titans, dawn of the Titans, any thoughts?
I'd have to rewatch it but, as far as I remember CLASH of the Titans is PERFECT. WRATH of the Titans is a shitty sequel that should have been good so we could have a cool trilogy...
If I may be so bold. Consider this if people wanted to differ from Athena's fighting style to that of her brother Ares. Pacific Theater. The Second World War. Athena would have orchestrated the battles of Midway, Guadalcanal, the island-hopping campaign, and other battles due to her immense knowledge of strategy and tactics. Ares represents what happened to Hiroshima and Nagasaki when Athena was withdrawn
You'd think Ares the god of war could look fitter, more muscular have fucking flames coming out of his eyes or something. This just looks like any random you fight at a bar on a saturday night.
In reality hades loved Perseus. Hades gives helm of darkness to Perseus to hide or more likely to get invisible alongside and adamantine sword (a Harpe) gives by Zeus.
I always wondered about the last moments when Ares touched his arm und actually stabbed himself. Did he regret what he did before or just accepted his defekt?
I was wondering about that too. It is a common trope in movies where the villain drives the blade deeper after being vanquished. But there's more than that here. I think Ares hated himself as well as just about everyone else, especially after seeing the noble sacrifice Perseus and his son were willing to make for each other, a relationship Ares didn't have with his own father, Zeus.
Was an amazing fight scene but I think a nice extension of films would've prolonged more epic fights... It would be nice to have seen not just Zeus and Hades fight Kronos... but also Athena, Artemis, Poseidon, Helios, Hermes, and many others... and more greek myth monsters/legends. I think with all that, they could've did 2-3 more movies after this one.
zeus was cruel he was the problem to everything. he sent hades to be god of the underworld. hades was evil to get back at zeus but zeus finally apologized. now hades is good also ares was pure evil cause he didnt feel zeus love in the movie.
Perseus is clearly not proficient in using divine weapons, maybe he should have just used one instead of dual wielding. It could have made for a more compelling battle.
Ares' death made no sense in this movie. I Iiked the movie, but it seemed the writers suddenly got lazy when they killed Ares off, or perhaps they had a character they had made too strong to have a logical death. Here he is...a war god with expertise and a long history of fighting techniques, and suddenly an untrained warrior and his little son took Ares down. It was rushed and made no sense. I have been developing the character of Ares in one of my stories, and I actually envisioned Dylan O'brien being that part with Morpheus as his father. I chose Kit Harington for the Morpheus inspiration. Then I created a multiverse where the roles are reversed because of this movie. After seeing Ares with this look, I wanted to write my Ares with a similar look. That's why I selected Kit Harington since he has Ares characteristics. It's funny because the multiverse Ares is darker, more savage, and powerful. I'm hoping I don't mess up and make him bigger than my writing like they did in this movie. Still, I did enjoy this movie.
Sungguh keren film Clash of the Titans. Sungguh susah membedakan nya. Apakah ini nyata atau tidak nyata. Tapi film nya seperti nyata tanpa ada sedikit pun tipuan kamera.
