timed world bosses locked to the wilderness, clans stay winning

I don't hate the idea of a world boss, not even one just in the wilderness. But I think in current form, this boss is only going to appeal to massive pvp clans, gold farmers, and bot farms. Don't love that it is highly unlikely for an average solo player to engage with this content unless they happen to be on at the exact time it's spawning (4 jobs, 7 wives, 36 childen, etc etc). Not that all content has to be made for the average solo player, but I think this one largely invites gold farmers and bots, with the scope of actual players being quite limited to just pvp clan players. Solo pvpers would not stand a chance if the worm spawns in multi, and then you get to wait however many hours hopping however many worlds to hope the next one spawns in singles.

"World boss" Yay that sounds f.. "only in 5 worlds, at a specific time and in the Wilderness" This sucks

"Can spawn in singles and in multi." - so the options for participating in this boss are: 1. Actually fighting the boss with the occasional PVPer attacking you; 2. Getting gimped by an entire clan and your participation is meaningless. Nice.

Yeah not gonna lie "World Boss" only in the wilderness is not a World Boss, that is a Wilderness Boss that is only on certain worlds at certain times. If you are going to do a World Boss do a World Boss, anywhere in the world, Wilderness included. Giving rewards specific to just Wilderness doesn't really seem appealing either.

Respectfully this is not passing in the current state, 1000 is way too much, the boosts are way too powerful. So you're gonna make a small subset of rich players even stronger? Nty.

I like the idea of a world boss, but it being only in the wilderness is a little bit disappointing.

Anyone else worried about clans camping or destroying everyone in multi??

I suggested combining the 3 wards into a mid-tier tribrid shield a loong time ago (on le reddit). It feels waaay too mid game to require 1000 teeth of some endgame world boss... I'd be more inclined to there being a Tzhaar themed quest which teaches you how to smith them together or something along those lines. This could explain why the shields in the wildy are visually the same as the tzhaar shield, (long lost tzhaar city under wildy volcano or something?) There's just much greater potential here that's being skimped out on. I do want that tribrid shield though

Looks like OSRS is going down the route of EoC. by the looks of this videos dislike ratio, players DO NOT want this.

2k Ether per tooth is 350k for one. That's like 70k ether dump per kc (12M gp). The weapon upgrades, if it's two item upgrades per 1k teeth, the total cost would be near 350M to have a buffed AGS/Darkbow? Like for real? Maths ain't mathing for me on this.

Putting this in the wilderness means it's DOA, sadly, but cool idea!

World boss idea, cool! Wilderness, not my cup of tea, but fair enough. "Spawns randomly and in limited amounts per day." Okay, so there's going to be huge clans that literally own this thing, and since my clan is small and not into PVP, I should probably not bother ever trying to interact with it. Nice.

Risk vs reward was not always how the wildy worked. that term was coined in 2015 for pvp updates.

Don't lock unique upgrades behind the wildy. This is the whole reason they added dragon pick drops to Volcanic Mine and KQ.

Whoever was the mod that pitched and suggested it should probably not be apart of the team anymore… he could barely contain his passive aggressive tone during the summit and as a paying customer is not someone I would trust to ensure the ideas he puts out are made for and benefit all his players, not just his own small community as he selfishly did

At this point pvmers so are so done with wildy bosses they have to bond a random scout outside a boss room to not get completely tilted and give up... Oh OK time for a pvm world boss in multi wilderness on only 5 worlds. Sounds great. And in multi. Completely inaccessible for a non-clan then. Fun.

I love this idea... Except this should be in exclusively in PvP worlds. Anywhere in the PvP world. Not the wilderness. It kind of defeats the "world" aspect to a "World Boss" if it's just in some wildy locations.

One of the best things about osrs is that I can log in whenever I want and do any content at any time. None of this FOMO scheduled nonsense. This is not the osrs way! We must stand united and vote NO!

Great, more things for bots and gold farmers to abuse. I dont hate the idea of a world boss, but putting it in wilderness is going to cut out a huge chunk of the player base. A single person isnt really going to interact with this since it will always be camped by clans

I think most pvmers simply feel outmatched in the wilderness, because the focus of their ability in osrs (pvm) doesn't lend itself to their survival in the wilderness - you can realistically only survive with some pvp ability. What if there was a wilderness totem you could unlock via pvm activities that disabled some aspects of pvp, to level the playing field a bit more for pvmers skilled enough to obtain the totem? Could only have some niche powers, like reducing freeze timers down to a few seconds, or granting a defense buff to certain special attacks. Could be unlocked through completion of an inferno-style wilderness pvm challenge

Maybe the first world boss shouldn't be in the wild. I enjoy pking primarily in OSRS but this seems like it would be cooler in non-pvp zones. Maybe add a different world boss to the wild in the future. Would love to see some more content for pures/1 def builds though. I made an obby pure and it can't do much outside of BH/Pvp World. The DWH update was great but that account build feels like it is just always a worse 50/99 pure. If you keep using mage/range too much pking in wild on an obby you just turn into a 50 attack pure gradually.

Not voting yes to a tree trunk boss

I’d love this boss if it had a random spawn throughout gielenor including the wilderness and was maybe incentivized to fight the wildy one with increased rewards. Being ragged while fighting a 10k hp boss while being teleblocked by the boss doesn’t sound too fun to me.

stop trying to add pvm activities in pvp. We pvmers do not want to pvp, get it through your thick empty head. Stop trying to lure us. Especially the ironmen or hardcore ironmen who have absolutely zero interest in pvp. All we get is an "ah man here we go again"

I would prefer a world boss outside of the wilderness.

my take: 3 times a day is obnoxiously limited, if they want people to care about this content in a game largely free of FOMO it should spawn once every 2 hours at least 2 should spawn, one in singles and one in multi so you have a choice & clans won't be able to lock everyone out of the boss if it happens to spawn in multi It would be great if we didn't create more content that *required* a clan chat and a wiki open to actually find and participate. There should be a way to find this thing that doesn't require you to have already fought it multiple times, esp for ironmen Fun concept, would give it a shot when possible, but as it's presented here I'm pretty sure my schedule would keep me from ever trying it out

Love this jagex! Absolutely love this Been hoping for something like this for a long time. I love the idea of a world boss and that lurking danger in the wildy I like the dens for the wildy bosses, but it kind of eliminated the chance of seeing bosses in the wild This is awesome

Really hating the idea of it only spawning at certain hours. I was stuck for several months in WoW because there was a "storm chaser" achievement that required a certain element in a certain zone and it just never seemed to roll during the hours I could actually be online. It's bad game design for a community that, like WoW, is getting on the older side and most of us have jobs.

Thought were trying to make it similar to deadman’s breaches ?!? Can’t we take calvarion & vetion, Callisto/artio, venenitis/spindel, and use designated worlds where they can spawn in several diff locations throughout wildy, TOGETHER, say only 2 each can spawn make them corresponding or mix it up and make it random, so could be artio/vetion or spindel/calliso, whatever ya get the idea. & increase their HP on the designated worlds, and keep similar concept proposed for new wildly boss with new weapons an drops and spawns.

I see a lot of ppl saying it shouldnt be in wildy. But you have to understand that if you are not in high tier gear - u wont get any kills. Just imagine if 50+ ppl in max pvm gear will attack the boss that means they are the ones that get loot. In wildy no1 would bring high tier gear so the gap between max main and for example med would be way lower so if you are not rich enough you can still try to get something. Also it would bring more clans/teams in to the game. Seeing wilderness so dead is kinda sad

Really cool, another wilderness PvM content experience!!!! You're going to have to put this in the game as an integrity change because I can guarantee you nobody wants this besides clans looking to eat PVMers for breakfast. Also, time gated content in OSRS is just not a good idea.

I used to run a Warbands friendschat in RS3 (they spawn every 7 hours) and it did start to dictate the lives of many of the people in our chat. People would stay up later than usual or wake up in the middle of the night, or do it right before work - waking up earlier than usual. It's not healthy content.

What a backwards idea. This is supposed to be a "pvp hotspot" that isnt meant for PvMers. But why make it centered around a boss? The goal of killing the boss better than others is completely completely at odds with the fact that you will have to fight off other players. If you get attacked by another player you have to stop attacking the boss which will be so incredibly frustrating as you watch others potentially get ahead of you in the goal of killing the boss who arent being attacked by a PKer. Not to mention this is prime fodder for clans to lock this boss down unless youre paying them. You guys havent learned anything. The wilderness remains a 1 dimensional shitstain of forgotten content, too bad because the wilderness should be the best part of runescape.

So no to fomo, sorry jagex this is a miss. Only bad idea in the whole summit, otherwise golden updates

Why not make it spawn worldwide with a buffed version for when it spawns in the wilderness. This way, you still bring some people to the wilderness.
