There's no depth in sound. Real wrc cars sound really agressive. In wrc 10, cars sound like a vacuum without any effects. Maybe the engine and tires sounds are better but there are many different aspects in real life which decide how beautiful and interesting rally is. We need to hear suspension, turbo flutter, antilag system, braking and much more. Another problem is depth of the sound. I want to hear the car coming from the distance when the sound start to be more agressive and loud. Last thing which is so annoying is really poor engine revving and exhaust sound. I know that sound is the most difficult thing to do in the whole game but we need more attention from devs in it.
You've perfectly resumed how the sound should be, all these different components that make Wrc cars so special, suspension, exhaust, turbo, etc... KT own the license until next year, after that we will have a new game made by Codemasters, and we know how talented they are
Yep, there's no real feel of connection with what you're doing, and the mechanical feel. Doesn't feel like high-strung revving engine, propulsion system, doppler effect of passing by cam in TV replay, etc, and the sound itself is weak, soulless, no depth, its artificial digital in how it reacts. Doesn't look like there's much of a chance that 11 will suddenly have good sound. I wish, so we got 1 good one from them before moving on to codies.
How would u compare sound with 9? And 9 vs 8? I have 8 and it's a mess of reverb, tiring, hurts ears. Do u know if 10 runs same as 9 on std ps4? Sound in vids in 9 seems similar to 8. But in 10 seems cleaner mb
@@jacquesjtheripper5922 Even if the sound is a mess in all the series, I prefer the sounds of WRC 10. They removed this ridiculous exhaust sound present in WRC 8 & 9. The "lol" engine is still a vacuum. The onboard sound while playing (not the replay) is not bad in WRC 10
Yes exactly, the trailer was a fake. I knew it from the beginning. The devs don't have the level for audio engine, since years now. Maybe another team Codm... 😉
Although to be fair, i listened to a video comparing car sounds of 10 vs 9, of a full modern wrc car, in the different playing views, on a good headphone, not just on cellphone, and it did sound crisper, more detailed at least, in 10. But in replays its still pitifull.
Hello Friends, thanks for Tuning in. Is WRC 10 (Final release) better than it's predecessor or the Demo ? In term of gameplay and feeling, I would say YES. The sound is better than the Demo but it's still bad, very bad compared to reality. The onboard sound while playing (not during the replays) is not bad. In WRC10, there is more inertia and the braking takes longer, good point. You can feel the heaviness of the car (only on gravel for now, tarmac later). I play with the wheel and I tested with the XBOX 360 controller. More precision with the wheel, you can balance the car in the corners more naturally. Don't hesitate to reduce the steering angle and play with the sensivity and dead zone in the parameters until you get confortable. The replay could be better, come on, more ambiance, more spectators and close up cameras. Just watch how it looks in real life. Thanks for watching. If you like the video, don't forget to hit that like button and sub for more content. Cheers ^^
@@usefulidiot21 What? It's the opposite. You have it flipped. WRC had the licenses to make the real and actual tracks, while DR was inventing tracks in the "style" of real tracks.
@@kain0067 The only real stages in the WRC games are the super specials. Other than that, they just take the iconic look of rallies and put them together with made up sections of stages. Whereas, Dirt Rally uses actual sections of roads for their stages. You can look it up, I believe there's a post about it on RaceDepartment and maybe somewhere else, too. There's also videos on YT showing some comparisons between DR stages and real life. I thought most people knew this, but I guess not. edit: Steam is the other place I've seen the real life rally locations listed for DR, along with RaceDepartment. And the WRC games use real stage names on their mostly fictional stages while DR uses fake stage names on their mostly real stages (sometimes they change trackside details or the road width is different in certain places). Kylotonn just posted on Steam a few days ago why they don't make realistic stages in their games, other than the SSS.
@@usefulidiot21 Hmmm, I swear I'd heard the opposite, and even seen comparison videos like you mention but for WRC! Thanks and I'll have to look it up.
The engine sound lacks the "struggle" effect on it when the car is doing some crazy maneuvers. Plus other effects like the whistling, gravel hitting(the car) and other environment and car interaction sfx is underwhelming. In short, It doesn't feel like the car is traversing a rough terrain at all bc of the underwhelming "immersive sound design".
Hi guys! maybe agree with me. wrc game, has very bad sound effects. I think game makers should wake up and realize that one of the things that attracts the most in the first place is the sound of the engines! real life sound vs game sound? year 2021, few games bring satisfaction in this regard. A good example of cool sound effect is from the DIRTRALLY 2.0 game The sound effects are hotter and more aggressive, similar to reality. The company that invests in a good experience of warm and realistic sound effects will make a lot of money. Who doesn't like a good engine sound? including clear sound of all mechanics, bodywork, tires...etc makes all the difference! ❤
@@guibarros151 I agree, the sound is very important, whatever the game, even photorealistic, if the sound is not real, the game will look bad. You talk about Dirt Rally 2.0 ? Hopefuly, the creators are working on a new WRC. But we have to wait until 2023.... 😉
not even only sound..damage physics is like need for speed....3years old dirt rally 2,0 is still better and i cant wait for 2023 when finally codies have license for wrc
@@EnricoBluska Yes, Wrc 11 will be the last one for KT. Imagine they release the perfect game, but It's not gonna happen. They had the opportunity for years... 😁 Can't wait for Codies... The real spirit, ambiance of racing game
@@seanoconnor8135 idk man i dont play this with controller and for graphics. i play this for extreme challenge.. with no assists on.. something you will never
Hello friend, anyone know if wrc9 is better optimized than 8 on std ps4 as for smooth graphic flow? I,have 8 and it's just about unplayable, plus sound gives headache and hurts ears. Anyone compared with 9 and 10 too on std ps4?
@@jacquesjtheripper5922 Newgen consoles are just a joke with no license compared to the PC. I skipped this time. Last buy was the PS4. Next Gran Turismo is the only game that could interest me (with the PSVR2). I think "Stream play" is the futur, no need of power. Like Netflix for movies, no need of blue-ray, DVD, Divx...
It's a huge disappointment for xbox one these ridiculous WRC games! I will not buy any xbox one game anymore. Xbox 360 was the best console with better rallies (and games)!
I totally agree with you. This Gen console and games are ridiculous. I remember the Xbox 360, many games and new graphics. Now most of the games look like an update of the previous Gen. We can trust Codemasters for the futur of Wrc but we have to wait... 😁
