I've been in a wrecker for many years this type of recovery is something I've always wanted to do looks like a blast just good folks helping good folks having fun in the process your living the dream brother be safe have fun
I have to say after watching your videos that this is the best wrecker in all of RU-vid. That OBS Wrecker is pretty cool too even with broken steering.
Nice entertaining little piece of film. Your a good driver and kinda look like an OTR driver. No cussing and good footage! Besides the sea sick part lol
@@steverone7623 A century 412 i got from a dot auction on a 83 gmc 3500 with a 6.5 n/a, bw 4 spd, chelsea pto, 18 gpm pump and 2 braden pto winches one on the deck and one on the fr. bumper 5/8 line on both.
I just revisited this video and thought . Wow look at that little Jeep pull those 2 large gm trucks . Now I'm not hating . I own a GMC myself. But if that wasn't enough. They were wreckers. Jeesh! Great channel. Now back to some new stuff. Take care Jim
Give that baby the camera so she can make her own videos from her perspective. not only does she learn some great skills and hand/eye coorination but, she can express herself too!!
maybe mounts to hold "four" five gallon water jugs on the front bumper? about 165LBS added to front bumper area. water is about 8.3LBS per gallon, just carry the jugs empty then fill via mud-puddles as needed
This reminds me of a friend of mine under the influence and he spun a clutch in his ranger miles in the mountain trails. I had a suzuki samurai, i am a tree man. I had to hook block pulleys at the top of the hills and pull him up as i drove down. I had a blast i think you are having fun also.
I'd like to see a video of how that other wrecker's dual wheels are set up. I don't think they're better, but the outer wheel looks different than any I've seen for less than a 10 lug.
buenos todos tus videos, es interezante que solo con una configuracion mecanica casi basica de tu chevy "off-road wreckers" hagas todo esos rescates , y lo que mas me sorprende que es automatica , tiene bastante fuerza , saludos
and I like your videos please let you dry your wife that truck again that's a good video keep on getting the mud boys put a winch on the back you might need it I'm from millfield Ohio buddy we don't get stuck around here we went to yourself out
well been seeing your show for years now .....iv also got a one ton but its a 1964 gmc c30 with dullies ....my boom or crain what ever you wanna call it is at least 10-15 foot long those trucks are fun in the woods ..i lower the boom to fit under the limbs so not much woods for me
great video. Just goes to show if you over build...(hydraulic only steering) sometimes it can bite ya. Great real world wheeling and people! ! ! Cheers
Should put you a 4spd straight drive in that ol girl with a granny gear,, not sure what they are called in the Chevys but simular to the T-18,,, love the video's, keep them coming! Bad ass rig by the way....
@Baby Seatcover, Yes, I'm seasick now! :):):) Honestly: Abby did it very well, Congrats! It was fun to watch and I saw many videos taken by adults much worse. She easily made it better!
Never was a fan of full hydraulic, party due to a misconception of an incident I had when I was a kid. When I was about 10 or something I stalled out our IH tractor hauling manure down a hill. Well, obviously the power steering quit working. Well, I learned that day that, while "popping the clutch" can stall a motor, it can also start one. ;) Well, I had the mistaken impression that the steering was "full hydraulic" and I blamee my extreme steering difficulties on that. Still, I like the idea of a mechanical connection, which I think is required anyway if you want to be road legal. It also seems to be pretty common for people to just tap off the steering box making setting it up pretty easy. That tight squeeze in the woods reminded me of when I was a naughty young buck and _slightly_ less responsible than I am now. ;) I decided to take my jeep down some local park trails which were, of course, gated off. They had a nice metal gate and 4 x 4 posts spaced around it to keep out trucks. Well, they apparently didn't' think about Jeeps cuz I just drove right between the posts, lol. ;)
another good vid. that was actually some sexy stuff right there. I wouldn't have minded if you did a few minutes on that other wrecker, a walk around after you brought him out. was it just me or did it seem like the winch labored a little lifting it? was there something about that guys rig that made it heavier than it appeared? that would explain the winch laboring a little to lift it. good vid, keep up the good work.
Looks like you could carry weight plates for the front of your truck, in case of heavy tows like the Chevy wrecker. A little light in the steering... lol Thanks for another great video tho!!!
As someone who has a off-road rig and had to recover before, her sitting on the back of the truck within reach of those cables and chains is not too smart. If something broke lose, it can seriously injure or kill someone.
Actualy the chances of somthing like that happening is very slim to none given the fact that Her Dad knows exactly what he is doing and has years worth of experince Also his equipment is very well maintaned The cable is freash and Chains and Hooks are like new and are in pefect working order ...My Dad Owned and opperated a Towtruck I Used to Ride along and climb allover his all the time just like She dose and There was never a singal issue For the most part TowRigs are Extreamly Safe
It would if it was a 2.5 or 5 ton. The pulling force from the back combined with the extra weight on the front would put a lot of extra torque on the fram. Think of it like a seesaw. With too much weight on both side the middle will eventually break. A 1 ton truck juat isnt strong enough for something like that. Good idea though.
Why wasnt that wrecker on the hook in 2wd helping th BSF wrecker they have radios and are even tho he cant steer he could help go up hills rather than being dead weight
I heard a mention about pushing the sling not being fun, I'm guessing that's why the other wrecker didn't help push up the hill. Because the sling pivots in the center it would be very easy to push the wrecker sideways.
I've destroyed many pf them in various ways, from simple scored cranks, and spun bearings, to holes in the side of the block bigger than your ass after a night of drunken 'guess the size'... Pretty sure that when I was scooping up motor oil and aluminum frags and wristpins, i wasnt looking at my engine saying "Man, here I am, picking up the broken pieces, but you sure cant kill that thing". No, I wasn;t saying that cause it was fucking dead, done, annihlated, broken, fucked, desentigrated, raped, destroyed, locked, explodededed. Chevy motor + Horsepower = Wristpins on the floor and holes in the block. "Can't kill a Chevy motor." .......Bullshit.
Do you have a locker in the rear? I was just thinking with all that weight on the rear you probably don't need a locker plus it'd make it harder to steer when your front is that light.
Brother you should most definitely have a tv show. They have hundreds of b.s reality shows and this is by far better than those highway recovery shows. Hope you get something from your videos besides our entertainment and your satisfaction; )
