My uncle went upstairs during an air raid alarm in WWII and saw an enemy fighter being shot down over Senja island in Norway. He saw it glide down far away while billowing out black smoke. Years later they found a downed fighter in a lake. He had tried to make an emergency landing there. They were probably fighting to protect the battleship Tirpitz who was moored outside the city of Tromsø back then. In the end the Brits were able to bomb and sink the battleship, marking a great psychological victory over the Nazis.

I may be wrong, but I think you've got a stronger engine, so you can pull up harder than your foe, even though he can out-manoeuvre you.
