We returned to Wren Meacham Trail to finish dropping and bucking the potential safety hazard that was left after removing the obstruction and clutter, now that we could bring a fresh chain (and a clean saw!)
The Senix 46cc 4-Stroke chainsaw is quiet, very quiet, when one turns the corner on the trail one can't hear it which makes it better for working around people who are recreating on public lands since they are there trying to get away from the noise and stink of the city, so having a quieter saw helps!
Another neat thing about these 4-stroke saws is that they can be tuned at 2000 feet altitude and then one can haul them up one's back up to 7200 feet altitude and they work just fine, no need to re-tune them in the field. The 2-stroke Sthil's will do that when they are broken in and have a lot of miles on them, yet even with the 2-strokes there's some adjustment to idle or even fuel mix when one changes altitude, not so with these 4-strokes.
I purchased 4 of these and need to purchase 6 more so they can be distributed among the volunteer groups who have Federal chainsaw training and certification in the Angeles National Forest, or if they have attended my safety training and certification classes for use by Parks and Recreation.
Getting quiet saws in to their hands means less work for my group. :)
