How is it going now. I’m a freshman and I jst started. I’ve definitely gotten better considering I came to practice knowing nothing much tbh lol. My record is bad, but I’ve gotten my first attack and escape and stuff, so I’m improving. (Honestly, my team isn’t good and idk why) oh and also I’m a female and everybody plays on junior varsity and varsity. I don’t see the difference. Just go in with the same energy and don’t underestimate 👍
Man im coaching youth wrestling my kids are Boy 9, Girl 7, and another boy 5. Any tips for youth wrestling i think its a different animal. not as technical more about who is more aggressive some times. And my daughter wins quite a bit she just got more of a attitude and brings it to the matt even tho my 9 yr old is strong.
I just started teaching wrestling and here’s a rule I’ve been trying to stick to - teach concepts to kids, techniques to beginners, and details to more advanced wrestlers. Obviously, every level of wrestling should include pieces of all of the above, but concepts / games that can instill those concepts is great for kids

I'm thinking of starting wrestling but I'm like 160 5'11 and I've been told I'm gonna be going against people in my weight class but kinda scared because the wrestlers are like juniors and seniors and I know I'm gonna get dropped.
Different types of drills. Any move you want to do, you should practice. Start off by getting comfortable with the motion, then speed it up, and lastly drill it live with your practice buddies.
Anyone know where I can find a good leg sleeve with a kneepad? I recently tore my meniscus and want some extra protection for when I come back to wrestling.
