What gear do you need to start wrestling? How do you make sure you have all the equipment you need on match day? See what I have in my bag, the items I never forget.
Everyone starting wrestling make sure you bring every single item here, especially rash guard preferably in spider man color. This is vitally important to being able to wrestle.
If you look at the historical significance of headgear, and what Cliff Keen called in when he invented it in the early 1960's. He called it a "wrestling helmet" I call it headgear daily, and grew up next to the Keen family. Only 10 houses away. #wrestlinghistory
I’m a wrestler who started in the independence scene just 4 years ago, I wear the black adida wrestling shoes when in the ring, I have custom knee pads and shin guards. Most of the stuff in this video was pretty necessary. The mouthpiece is optional though. I chose to wear one but feel like I look kinda dumb but aye, protects my teeth.
although a mouth guard isn't needed I would recommend one because when I was younger I didnt wear one and got elbowed across the face pretty hard, it knocked tooth out and I had to get stiches.... Now that I think about it, I think that bastard did it on purpose.
You're right, you don't need a mouth guard, unless you take an elbow or a knee to the mouth and your teeth are busted out. Now, if you don't care about your teeth, gums, and jaws, you never need a mouth guard. REPLY
Nice, I love that the background audio levels down when "ear" harm was initially mentioned. But ever cut after the _ear protection_ was inserted with high background volume. Granted, this is the first time I've come across this channel, and seems like subs will be flocking in known -- time :) Feels like the joke was MISSED, when the background audio went UP, and AFTER you stated the ear protection information. Not sure if the background noise is meant to be a constant for all videos, but IF SO, this video should have been different - the opposite - as hearing was the initial _punch line_ with the ear protector information presented. The vid could have been the _odd man out_ but also tongue and cheek [at the same time].
Bruh what I have in my bag for wrestling for practice is.... -Gatorade -shorts -shirt -Headgear -Singlets -Wrestling shoes -Running shoes(because during practice the first thing we do is run 6 laps around the halls in school) -granola bar - an extra pair of underwear -and a towel to take a shower after practice God damn do you think I bring a little too much really though all of this inside my bag barely fits in my school locker which i have nothing in there at all😂
We have to run loops around the stairs which are like a hundred feet apart from each staircase for 15 minutes we sprint up jog down and run to the stair cases
Any tips on avoiding skin breaking / friction burns when no wearing a rashguard, and especially when wearing a singlet ? I wear regular cotton T shirts and skin always tends to get wrecked around the bicep armpit area. Sometimes wear two shirts to avoid it. Makes me wince imaginging wrestling shirtless/in singlet.
All I have is shorts, water, wrestling shoes , and shirts lots and lots of shirts Oh and some tape cause my shoes are falling apart but my coach always has some so I don’t really need it
Wrestling shoes are allowed to hit the Sidewalk at tournaments because what is you have a match on Mat 8 and you have to walk to get there. Wrestling shoes can hit the Concrete at a tournament.
I know some Experienced Wrestlers Aka Me who still dont know what to bring because I dont want to over pack But I still want to Bring enough water to last me for the 9 hours I'm going to at the damn Tournament.
I’m a girl trying out for wrestling I’ve done judo for almost 3 years which isn’t the same but does have similarities on some parts. Any advice for me ?
All grappling arts are similar concepts, about leverage and control. The rules are only different. If you know how to train, and drill Judo moves you have a head start. You can translate that to wrestling. Study the sport, watch high level coaches on youtube and find a good coach locally
Can I use futsal shoes or basketball shoes for wrestling training? I am a boxer/muay thai fighter and I wanna do mma but i cant find wrestling shoes in my country. Can they work?
I know its a little late, but im a wrestler, basketball shoes is OK, but it could ruin the mat. You could always find an online store and have them shipped
Stuff I keep in my backpack as a coach. Wrestling shoes Personal Water Bottle 32oz Gatorade Bottle Athletic Tape Nail Clippers Phone charger And snacks that I Confiscate from the Wrestlers.
Even tho i am a girl the wrestling coach wanted me to be on the wrestling team but i wanted to bring up my grade before but now wrestling is over and i have to go next year thank u very much grades
Who received the grades? If wrestling is the goal, focus on your academics FIRST. The same discipline good academics required is the same discipline needed to be a great wrestlers.
I just wear a hoodie to practice One it makes me sweat more and two I put the hood on during live wrestling so I don't have to keep putting and taking off my headgear😂😂
Chin cup is purely “cool” and less functional from my perspective. So chin strap. But personal preference. The key is just make sure you practice with it. It’s a variable you can control, why not practice how you’re going to compete? Practicing with it on is one more advantage over your opponent
qineappl e Rudis makes some great stuff, and are great for the sport. They just didn’t make the cut this time - email them and tell them you want them on the wrestling coach channel ;-) lol
