I think sometimes managers just make inexplicably poor decisions. Maybe they’re overconfident, or just prefer certain personalities in the changing room, and that can be really hard to take. The most important thing though Wrighty is you fought back into that England squad and showed your true class at the end of the day. A magical goal and experience to share with scholes, one to tell your grandkids when your pipe, slippers and rocking chair haha!

Paul Scholes was an absolute technician and it's a shame we had a stupid incompetent manager in Sven Goran Eriksen who tried to please the media masses by playing Gerrard and Lampard in a midfield yet Scholes was literally the orchestrater of a treble winning back to back title winning side for years. Absolutely stupid and that's one of the reasons they won fuck all in their so called golden generation. I'm a Man Utd fan but I've always liked Ian Wright such a down to earth guy and glad he knows the quality of Paul Scholes it's only Liverpool fans that think Gerrards better or Chelsea fans thinking Lampard is better.

Actually thought it was politics within England selection that's why you were left out but hey who knows all i know is that you should have been there in France. Ian Wright was born to finish, Yeah England did well blah blah blah but playing without Wrighty pissed me off as a kid growing up. As a white North London boy playing football at the Arsenal Soccer school behind the clock end every Saturday I wanted to be Ian Wright!!! No one else! I remember meeting him one Saturday when he was forced to train with the youth squad in the indoor pitch, it was like a dream come true. Quality player, top bloke.

I was very disapointed when England lost against Germany in semis in EURO '96. Because final with England at old Wemlbey would be something totally dofferent. But, u know, we had amazing support in final from English fans there and we were very unlucky in OT. But still, to this day (even I was 12 at that time), this tournament and EURO 2004 is still my best experience with Czech national team. EURO '96 was the year, when people discovered names like Pavel Nedvěd, Patrik Berger, Vladimír Šmicer etc. When underdogs like us made our nation so proud. :)

Wrighty for me was on of the best England strickers and they left him out for that tournament which was on of the biggest mistakes for me and even tho I’m a spurs supporter I love wrighty one of the best to do it , wrighty was like your pals dad from down the road and I remember the time I met him on Nike advert over hackney marshes gave us nothing but great advice and was a laugh 😂 had me crying 😭 with 😂 the whole day

Born in 94 and started to support arsenal mainly because of Thierry henry but man, I love wrighty so much. Lucky enough to have met him at an arsenal game and get a photo. Why this man doesn't have a statue outside the emirates is beyond me. Keep up the great content Ian.
