Writing a PERSONAL STATEMENT for Primary Teaching UK

I decided to offer my advice for anyone who is applying for a Primary Teaching degree and is currently in the process of writing a personal statement. This should be useful for anyone looking to start a PGCE or teacher training. I started my teacher training way back in 2010, so it has been a while since I have written a personal statement for primary teaching! Regardless, I think I have summed up some points that new teachers may find useful. Good luck Primary School Teachers!

I'm so happy to hear that this has helped! Which Universities are you applying for? Try not to worry about your personal statement too much. I remember being so worried about mine. It's important to get it right, but try to enjoy the writing process if possible! It's a chance to express yourself and show what you are looking forward to learning more about. Such a great video Katie, well researched and presented :) Love the examples of how to word specific parts of the statement! I'll have a think about maybe a video for some tips for secondary school, but some of these are useful for all teachers regardless of what they are training in xx

Hi Katie, thanks for sharing this video. Could you guide us with how to write a Reference Letter for a teacher who wants to apply for a teaching job in US or Uk or wants to apply for a scholarship. Hopefully you'll reply.

Thanks Katie! This is really helpful as I am a mature student with previous school experience but my predicted grade is only currently 2:2 and I wanted to apply for a salaried role with QTS & PGCE and I will take GCSEs later on in June/July. Any other advice for someone in my position? Thanks, Sophie

Hi Sophie, I’m a mature student and got a 2:2 and still managed to get on the teacher training course of my choice so I suggest just looking at what each course requirements are.

How do you get on a salaried QTS scheme? Or is it better to get funding and do it through uni where you pay?
