1. I have like a set date where im planning to watch all the comebacks I missed (it’s in a day or two) and when IVE came up on the screen I went “HEY HEY HEY!” without feeling myself and had to cover my screen until it was over HAHAHAHA 2. Congrats on finishing your bookkkk!!! I’ve been busy because of school unfortunately, but I’m so happy to be watching a Kelley vlog again. 3. I’ve been writing my litfic novel since june of 2022… and I’m only 20k words in. I feel like if I were to get to the end of the draft, I would also rush through it because I just need to experience the feeling of finishing a draft as soon as possible. I’D BE CRAZY MOTIVATED IF I HAD A COMPLETE DRAFT. But writing slowly makes me think deeply of my characters and what story I’m meaning to tell.. it makes me appreciate what I have come up with and notice all the little things. A few weeks ago, I decided that I don’t have to publish this book. I realized that the reason why I was trying hard to rush through was because of the dang “You didn’t finish your book yet? How long have you been writing?” I’ve been getting these questions since I was like… 10 and writing a fantasy novel. But it’s okay because these people probably mean no harm. It’s just that they’ve never really experienced the whole crazy process of writing a book. Once I made that decision (“I don’t have to publish if I don’t want to”), I started adding WHATEVER I WANT. literally everything I feel and experience into that book. And now I’m even more attached to this book than ever before. And it feels good :) 4. Another thing is..there’s always going to be a flaw in our writing process, and that’s okay! I don’t understand how people “fast draft” and get everything done so quickly either. It feels so impossible to me. But we all lead different lives and have different schedules, and we’re all different people who work differently. And sometimes we have to accept our own writing process and work on improving it, rather than comparing it to other writers. 5. I haven’t tried writing a magic system before. It’s intimidating 😭 I hope you have loads of fun at the retreatt! And congrats, once again!! 💕💕💕

Congratulations on finishing your first draft!! That's not a "little" win at all, that's a huge deal! I can totally relate to rushing the end of a first draft because you just want to be done with the dang thing already. And honestly, if your magic system hasn't completely broken at least once in the drafting process...did you even write a magic system? LOL I'm glad you had a breakthrough later in the process, though! Love the tattoo! Have so much fun at the retreat, and best of luck on your revisions!
