WRITING VLOG | Saying goodbye… 📦 

im working on revisions at the moment too and im finding it so difficult to not line edit and try to make sure everything is perfect. i think in this stage the most important thing is to focus on making sure the plot is good (: loved this vlog btw 💓

Thanks for the reminder that moving is chaotic and stressful, rather than just me being bad at it! I'm trying to juggle moving out of our flat, while working a full time job and preparing for my driving test in two months and it's not leaving a lot of time and energy for writing and youtube :( Also congrats on the new job! I hope everything goes well!

Congratulations on the move and the amazing job offer! Moving to a different country sounds incredibly stressful. And the commute! I hope it all goes well for you! I just saw a Twitter thread that was semi-viral about a person working remotely in the tech industry at their job and now all of the sudden they are demanding employees to work in person with no exceptions when it’s been remote for 3-4 years and most employees live in different US states. So ridiculous. I think most jobs (especially in your industry!) can be done remotely. It’s ridiculous. I’m sorry. One of my career goals (in addition to getting a literary agent and being traditionally published) is to be a TV drama writer in the entertainment industry. In screenwriting, you can’t query. I’ve written 36 scripts and been a finalist in a few major TV writing fellowships. But Los Angeles is a car driven culture (like most places in the U.S.) and due to my disabilities, I am unable to drive. The thing is, work in a TV writers’ room CAN be done remotely on Zoom or another online platform. But most showrunners don’t want to do that and require that lower level writers have industry experience that I can’t get (showrunner’s assistant, writer’s assistant)-it’s just very problematic and I’ve been denied internships (when I was a student up until last year) because I’m unable to drive. It’s abhorrent. Anyway, sorry for the rant! I hope your writing motivation comes back! I’m feeling blah, too! 😭

Congrats on finishing up that move. Moving within the same town is stressful enough, and I can only imagine how much worse it is moving between countries. (Giving up plants is almost as heartbreaking as giving up pets for me, personally, so it's sad to hear that you had to let them go. But I understand why that has to be done.) Also, congrats on the new job! That commute sounds like a doozy, but we do what we have to in this job market. But really, I wish you the best with the job, and I hope that with this move and this new chapter in your life, that you're able to find some balance again. Get lots of rest. You got this!
