stay in there kelly! you’ve had such a tough year, and ur content has helped me so much. im so happy your in this writing community and it would be so empty without u! i understand the pressure to write in vlogs🥲 creating content while ALSO creating your **literal** novel drains so much of your energy and creative time. that’s honestly why i don’t film a lot of vlogs and when i do it’s only for a tiny writing session (not even a full day lol - i don’t know how u do a week!!?!) i cannot WAIT for the sit down videos, bc as much as i adore ur aesthetic, beautiful vlogs - I adore listening to you chat about anything!🎀🫂 i wish u the best in the new year and for ur kitties safe travel! i’ll be away from home for 6 months - also travelling so you’re never alone🤍🌸 p.s plz make a line editing advice video!! i wanna crack that wise brain of urs!!🥰

When I get stuck on a chapter, it helps me to just put a note to myself what I want the chapter to accomplish, even if I don't know how to accomplish it yet. Then just move forward to the next chapter. Writing (or editing) out of order is totally okay.

Take the time you need for your creative process! You know what is best for you and what you need! Would you ever consider doing a video on how you got int freelance editing? Would love to see it!

I personally love the craft videos!! I’ve written for over a decade, but I feel like there’s never too much to learn or relearn. I also like the idea of monthly vlogs. Do whatever would work best for you, Kelley. Wishing you safe travels with the move!

I think that’s what I need to do, set aside a small amount of time each day even if it’s 10-20mins to work on something. More specifically my poetry. I’ve been writing songs lately and I challenge myself to do one a week, in 24 hours. Which can be stressful at times. I was also doing the behind the scenes vlog of me writing each song- had to cut those out for now lol. But it has been helpful and made the song challenges a bit easier to focus on and complete.

Ahh, best of luck with everything, Kelley! I hope you have a safe move with your kitties. It’s so painful to move out of a place that has been home, even for a few years. I felt similarly when I had to give up my apartment. I know the weekly vlogs are taxing for you, so if you’d like to do monthly vlogs, that would be great, too! Would also love to see videos about how you got into freelance editing and how you get clients as well as your process for submitting short stories and poetry! 😍 My birthday is on Christmas, so it was fun to see you vlog on my birthday! Definitely see if you can get a high quality mask (N95/N99) before traveling because so many people are sick right now. COVID and flu cases are really high. Not sure about Canada, but I know they’re high in the U.S. I hope you’re able to stay illness free! Best of luck with moving, writing, etc. We’ll be here when you get back. 🥰

Obviously do what's best to enjoy the process!! Sometimes we just need to spend more time on something just to then unblock a lot of realisations. If it's a busy time why not try out some sillier shorter videos like making outfit boards/sims for different characters or replying to fun quizzes as them? Even with no videos for a bit, I'd happily wait for updates!

RANT INCOMING: Airlines have actually traumatized me. I don't know if you were aware of the whole Southwest airlines fiasco from holiday season 2022, but I was caught right in it. Had a very similar day to you. Only I was flying back home after visiting family. Showed up, flight kept getting delayed over and over again on the app. Totally teased us by moving us to a different gate, only for that to be canceled. Waited in line for an hour to try to talk to the help desk but the line was so long, so I just called the hotline (figured it might be faster while I was waiting) and was able to get flight credits and a new flight booked for a day later, (by the way, I was only like half-way through the line at this point). So, then I left my terminal. Then waited in line for like two hours in baggage claim, only for them to say that my bags had already been flown to my arrival airport. Checked the app the day later, my new flight WAS ALSO CANCLED. Tried rebooking, but was unable to. Gave up, booked a JetBlue flight a few days later since they weren't having issues (meanwhile, I'm stuck wearing the same clothes like four days in a row 🤢). Finally made it back home. Went to baggage claim only for them to say that my luggage WAS STILL AT MY DEPARTURE AIRPORT. So, I had to wait like two or three more weeks to get it. (Oh, and by the way, when my luggage finally did arrive, I also happened to get someone else's who had the same name as me, so there's that). I will never, ever, ever check luggage in during a holiday flight again. That's the type of thing that only needs to happen once to burn you for a lifetime. So, I understand how you felt. I'm sorry that you weren't able to visit your family. RANT OVER But yeah, I personally do enjoy the weekly vlogs, even if from a writing perspective a lot doesn't seem to happen (but I don't mind that, because that's just how writing is). But the pressure that you feel from them is totally understandable, so I wouldn't blame you if you decided to go for the monthly route.
