I was at Commerce also in the 1980’s when Force did a full 1/4 mile burnout, backed up then proceeded to win the round. It was a great show. Wished I could have seen Stevie’s burnout.

Back in the 70's at Santa pod in the UK 2 American funny cars (Paula Murphy and don shoemaker) did a damn near 1/4 burn out side by side. Then they both turned around on the track and ideled back down the strip the wrong way,crossed under the tower and ,now back in their own lanes staged and run. I was a teenager and it's still one of the coolest things I ever saw.
