This'll be the third time I'm getting a character to 60 and I can definitely agree this is what New World should have launched as. The game was mishandled so poorly for years and combined with a lack of content, it's died twice before. It's a visually stunning game with snappier combat and movement in a now properly fleshed out world with solid lore. Definitely leans into the more casual 'dad friendly' design but is still rewarding if you want to go harder as the character/gear progression feels really good. I hope they can keep the momentum going this time but if not, it's still worth the experience IMO.
What about the war system, gold distribution, territory control, market, towns, taxes, non-existing end game, bots and more bots, microtransactions, seasons, expansions and the initial cost. Don't forget aim lock, latency, desync, matchmaking and 1 OPR map in 3 years. Enjoy your numbers dropping everyday.
@@gamezonereactions8388 I can see you're just talking shit on every positive comment on this video and then liking your own comments LMFAO. You literally just listed features of the game as if they're negatives, and I've never experienced bots or any form of desync. No game is perfect including New World, why are you so mad? 😂
@@gamezonereactions8388my dude, you spend a LOT of time and effort complaining about this game. Seems quite sus… It’s over, you 2 weren’t meant for each other. Find another game that doesn’t hurt your feelings and move on… there are plenty of fish in the sea
@@Beansahol oh yeah for sure . That’s mostly what I’m doing and I’m only lvl 28. Just leveling my secondary resource and crafting skills and hunting . I’ve made some cool leather augmented gear. The game is a blast. Not understanding all the non stop complaining about the game lol
@@gamezonereactions8388 True. If you like doing that mainly then you'll love endgame, tradeskills is about all there is for the loop. PVP is horribly designed, almost every system is trite, boring, or under-thought/developed.
I played 500 hours over the years but i rerolled for this version and it is 10x better, more refined, tonnes of QOL improvements. The game as a whole is much easier as your given a regular stream of gear and big changes to sheer volume of mobs in key quest areas. It always was a special game but content lacking. I dont have the expansion yet but even so its a joy to play and level up in.
"I have 4k hours in the game. No, its not worth it. They need more content" - PCMR I am console peasant, i am enjoying this game immensely. If it gives me 50 hours then I am good bro.
Depends what you do, if you like PvP then this game for you, there tons of content for it. PvE is Ok but for me new world always been about the PvP content. regardless both PvP and PvE there at least 100-200 hours.
I am new to the game and have almost 50hours in it already, loving it! it has old school mmorpg feel to it with controls that beat most mmorpgs such as TnL easily!
It's good. I never played it before Aeternum, but it's one of the better MMO's I've played. Combat with the spear, greatsword and bow is fantastic. Leveling up the void gauntlet now and that's pretty fun too. The only criticism I have with the combat is that I believe some of the weapons should give the option to dual wield. We should be able to dual wield the hatchet, sword, gauntlets, etc.
Brother shut the actual fuck up you dont need to respond to every single comment expressing how bad you think the game is. Nobody gives a fuck. But let me guess i commented so i must care right? You obviusly either werent good enough to compete in end game pvp or you got bullied out of your guild. Who tf takes the time to respond to every commrnt just repeating the same shit 😂😂@gamezonereactions8388
So you basically just read the highlights off the store page, you had to re-release the video because you didn't understand the pricing before making it and threw it under the bus and you barely played it at all.. only footage being the first 2 min of the game. And you think for some reason that qualifies you to make a "is it worth playing" video. Top notch content here.
This isn't a review. It's a tldr on what the fuck this new "expansion" "re-release" is for people who are out of the new world loop and haven't played for ages to help people work out whether it's worth trying or not.
The problem with New World is that it originally was meant to be a World PVP game however they changed last minute. It make sense that it would take 2-3 years overhauling the game from a PVP focused game to a PVE focused game.
I would enjoy the game but for me I need build variety and options in games. The lack of skills/abilities is what keeps me away because it just feels like everyone does the same thing and no one is unique. Sure some people like that, having less to focus on but I personally enjoy my spreadsheet games where I have to either plan out my build on my own before hand or go in blind and risk messing up and starting over or lastly look up guides to help me out. This also makes replaying the game fun because if you mess up and you have to start over or you just want to try something else on your next char the playthrough is fun again because it's still fresh/new because of having a new build and a new way playing the game. This is why I loved BDO, Lost Ark, PoE etc because even if you make new chars it's still a fun experience because your gameplay the second time around is different. Another issue is lack of endgame content for a game that has been out for a while now.
Hive of the Gorgons _is_ a 10-player expedition, so basically you could call that a new expedition, just done in a bigger raid group vs. the usual expeditions. It's pretty good and challenging imho. The sandworm is more like an arena event tbh.
As a new player to new world on xbox, coming from playing wow exclusively this has been amazing for me the crafting alone is a time sink I can get behind. But overall this is now my new home for my mmoish needs
The end game will never be fixed because their systems are all intertwined and can't be unraveled, plus it's not worth their time, they are working on Lord of the Rings. They won't fix the low percentage of people that participate in wars. And there will always be a small group of people that control the territories, gold distribution, town control, taxes and markets. Don't forget the bots making all your grinding worthless in the end. Having 1 OPR in 3 years shows their priorities, being microtransactions, seasons, expansions and marketing you an Action RPG.
I see you everywhere hating on this game. The game is super fun. You don’t even realize how deep this game has its hooks into your psyche with how much you complain about it 🤣
Im just a simple new player on the xbox Console. I already like it better than throne n liberty. It feels somewhat like zelda breath of the wild, mixed with other stuff.
Solid review. Left out that the archetypes give you a really nice leg up on 3 profession combos(gathering, processing & crafting) but otherwise good stuff.
I was curious about it. Thanks for talking me out of it. Ill just hand my money to KCD II and elsewhere. One day Ill find an MMO I can actually get into.
this is a dumb question, do I have to buy an expansion or something to play? haven't downloaded to just check. ok jfc are you actually asking chat gpt instead of booting the game up?
I was very excited to jump in, but I'm honestly SHOCKED at the price. That's a huge mistake. It's clear Amazon is new to games, because this is a sort of overhaul patch and shouldn't be sold as a new game like this. Why should players pay for them fixing the game? Overhaul patches like these are amazing, but they should never come at an increased price. Patches like these could potentially lead to tons of content creating on youtube talking about how great the game is. But that's not gonna happen at 60 bucks. I'm not paying 60 bucks for an mmorpg, when I know there is an in game store. I can play Guild Wars 2 base game completely for free and for 30 bucks I'm getting the two first expansions. Seriously, which mmorpg asks for 60 bucks? The only one that still does this is World of Warcraft and they can only do that because it's a 20 year old mmorpg still going. It should be MAX 40 bucks and even that is pushing it.
No, the combat in New World is "action combat" whereas WoW is "tab-target" New World's combat is pretty fun, especially melee in my opinion. But it's more similar to dark souls combat now with being able to lock-on the target. Throne and Liberty is more similar to WoW classics combat, where you'll do auto attacks the whole time and still have nearly 12(?) abilities to attack with.
Throne and liberty released recently which has similiar, more modern combat it' fun 7/10 fast food gaming. Lacks atmosphere of WoW and has grind for +9 weapons with weekly quests etc.
I'm reading that you can't craft top tier armor & weapons and that the top tier items can only be acquired by doing pvp and raiding if so what's the point of crafting?
you can still craft max stuff but you need trophies or town buffs to get the max GS. also everyone has always wanted good gear from raids and endgame pvp, that’s why they never got played before, it wasn’t worth it
The PS5 version looks awful, i messed about with quality and 4k settings and high bandwidth, used 2 different VRR 4K monitors and the graphics are still blurry. I think they have added FSR and thats why its blurry on PS5. Unless they can patch this there is nothing i can do my end to fix.
I'm not a fan of it either. At the same time I'm not really sure what their options were for console players. Zero aim assist would make ranged weapons pretty much unplayable for them.
It’s negligible. AIM lock sucks with ranged weapons can easily dodge it. The only weapon it might be an issue with is the BB but they nerfed it so it does 20% less damage with aim assist on.
@@meytah8382 I find it to be rewarding. A bit messy though with the scaling sometimes, you can get OP quick for the story if you do side stuff. But it’s still fun.
i didn't realize it was broken but I haven't gotten to end game yet but they did add a faid. games more then just end game anyway. we tend to forget that because wow conditions us to skip everything and go to endgame its sad.
@@Nytrusdeathcyde Yeah, I agree; the problem is the devs of NW is gradually following the same footsteps that WoW did. For example, they made leveling quicker and way easier. So you'll quickly end up at the end game, and the world will become dead because there's no point in leveling up alts either. And then you've run out of content but there's really not much to do at endgame other than spam the same dungeons and OPR/arena. You'll very quickly gear out your character, too. They could've designed the game so much differently.

I agree after playing New World back when it launched and rerolling a couple of years back where nothing was any different the thought of grinding professions etc for a third time makes me feel literally sick. There is just something about new World that makes me gag. Having recently realised how pay to win T and L actually is and how much advantage swipers get Im loathe to play it again, epic growth stones are just too damn difficult to grind for and ultimately as with any MMO there just isnt any point - world PVP is a joke in T and L and as usual many players are just too damn good at the game for some reason (at least in WOW Classic everyone can compete IMO and even I can get PVP kills), alliance conrtrol of all world bosses and even zones like Sauradoma island at night is kind of trash IMO. So yet again im without an MMO to play, roll on Ashes, however player owned towns and guild owned 'areas' just NEVER works in an MMO, so Im not expecting it to retain players for long. Sigh WOW Classic IS the yellow brick road to MMO success why dont developers just follow its lead and progress it.
Your video hits the nail on the head. I keep telling people who think this is AMAZING!!! is this is the SAME GAME.. nothing new other than console support and better cut scenes. The game is now what it SHOULD have been 3 years ago and anyone who had played it in any amount in the last few years will not see much of anything new.. it's the same game, just polished and repackaged and charging you once again. It's Amazon milking the cash cow. I used to play this game alot and this didn't even slightly tempt me to buy.
I didn't like it on pc because I'm primarily not a PC gamer. But Holy cow is it good on controller...dropped throne and liberty for it and im very happy
@nunyabidness5835 everyone has a different opinion. Some don't like it, yet its widely considered as really good and better than tab targeting. Sure, it's not bdo for action combat, but it's definitely better than gw2
@@iabaca hm maybe I should try it on controller but I’m not used to using one. I personally love gw2 combat. Your right about everyone has preference. I don’t really like the weapons and skills they have besides the hammer I did enjoy hammer
I'll never understand the people that say a game isn't worth it after playing for thousands of hours. Is this the best of the worst kind of situation for you? Was there nothing else to play in all that time?
It looks worse, it feels worse, the "story" is more intrusive but the quests are the same. It's nothing but a money grab via the Hype and exploit method, targeting console players.
This was the worst content ever. OPR, the old dungeons, crafting, trials, arenas, etc everything is obsolete. It makes absolutely no sense to make them since they give maximum 700 GS items. The new pvp zone is full of premades hunting solo players. Even if they can hit each other, the collateral damage is minimal. OPR matchmaking is still a joke. The matches ends like 200 vs 1000 and players can change build inside OPR. That means you can queue has dps and inside swap to healer so you team has more healers than the other. HIVE is only for hardcore. You will not pass even the first boss with randoms, and players with expertise will check your gear before let you in. In other words happens the same as always: Hardcore players rush the same bg over and over again while randoms waste their time. Ah! I almost forgot! I bought a medium chest with the goldcursed coconut and it was full with random perks i don't need! Lol! Now i have to wait 7 days to try again. Hahaha haha. Whatever i try to farm and i get will be with random perks. Crazy. If I want to upgrade an artifact I need an item that droops in HIVE and to get it again i have to wait in days!!! What AGS did this time is inconceivable.
fool you? man you guys take video games way to serious. when u gonna learn to play video games for fun, it doesn’t have to be this perfect video game that you play for the rest of your life…
Normally I’d agree, but shit I gave it another try and they really cleaned up the game and made it fun. I see myself easily getting a couple hundred hours of good fun out of it before I’ll take another break and wait for the next expansion or whatever they do. The bugs are gone, all the janky shit is gone, the new story is acctually engaging and interesting, and the economy feels balanced.
lol maybe its just your pc if u play on pc. we all have different experances on mine it runs fine i havent noticed any stuttering ect. hopefully they fix that in the future for u. graphics are fine graphics aren't everything lol
@@thugaegalo6689same . I’m on series X and I’ve being playing literally every free minute that I have had since launch on Tuesday and it has been running flawlessly.. no lag, no stuttering and super smooth. Only thing that happened was once got booted from server because it felt like literally every single person that plays on that server seemed to be on at that time lol. Which I look at that as not necessarily a bad thing. But was able to get back in after ten minutes of server maintenance… Game is popping so your loss
@@Nytrusdeathcyde It's always people like you defending this poorly optimized game, even though it clearly stutters. And if you claim you don't experience any issues, you're obviously lying.
