Thank you thank you thank you for this wonderful talk. I love listening to in-depth personal historical journeys while I'm painting. The good, the bad and the creative. Love it!
I cried when I visited the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, in Cleveland. So many of my music heroes had already died. Most I never saw live,...but I dedicated my youth to their music. I'm still a huge fan of those people.
I was once dragged to a David Bowie Concert at the Tweeter Center in Tinley Park IL. in the mid 1990's . Bowie's guitarist was Adrian Belew who lived in the Chicago area for years so that David Bowie introduced him as Adrian Belew from Chicago . It was the best concert I was ever taken to. Bowie was so fn professional doing all his music like it was heard on the RADIO. The show was so good , It was like seeing Frank Zappa or Neil Young just to mention a couple of North Americans', talented , and creative , especially live shows.
Elvis then the Beatles . Bob is exactly right about the 2 most popular acts in the world for years. That is why even to this day there are many Elvis Impersonators and many people of that era actually have fun seeing those acts. Elvis was a God even bigger than "the king" especially to women back then.
