At one of the ruin sites, there are 2 groups of buildings with a paved path between them. Just off the the path, there is something I learned of that was really surprising. We were there on a very hot day, maybe 103 (?) and I felt cold air. And there was small box like structure with protective grating over it with cold air coming out of it. WOW was that nice on a a very hot day. We came upon a ranger and asked about that and were told that there is an underground cavern with an opening there. When the atmospheric pressure above ground is lower than below ground, the cool air of the cavern is pushed out; when the situation reverses, the hot air flows back into the cavern. There are several of those places in the vicinity. So breathing caverns - the Indians had air conditioning - sometimes.

🙋‍♀️Hello Russ! Loved the intro! I felt like I was sitting next to you when you sipped your coffee. Neat. I didn't even find myself putting on the breaks once with you. Not even when Mario Andretti passed us. I loved seeing how people use to live years ago. Intelligence levels back then, vs now when it came to building. How well some of it stood through the elements. Was that not the loneliest Black Eyed Susan you ever saw?

Thanks for your video! I was there photographing these Indian Ruins a few weeks ago in July and you should of walked up to the top of the hill to that Citadel Ruin, the path takes you around the other side and you can walk up inside of that ruin. The landscape on the back side of that Ruin is amazing! When I was there the sky was full of the big white clouds and made it such a beautiful landscape scene for photographs.
