In this collaborative video with Infinite Pixel, we returned to Coventry airfield at the end of August to speak with owner Charlie Walker and other members of the restoration team. We discover more about how things are developing with the restoration work on ‘Night Fright’ as the team seeks to get this former WW2 C-47 Dakota aircraft airborne once more, and in time to fly over Normandy for the 75th D-Day Anniversary in 2019.
Our full interview discussing all about the C-47 Night Fright Restoration Project with Charlie Walker will be available to listen to on the WW2 Nation Podcast shortly. In it we will be discovering all about the service history behind this remarkable WW2 aircraft 42-100521, which took part in all the major airborne operations in the North-Western European Theatre of operations during the Second World War. As well as learning more about how this project's origins, we discuss RAF Membury, and the aim to have it flying with Daks Over Normandy next year.
----IMPORTANT----
We are not Historians. We are just ordinary chaps who are learning about WW2 history and documenting our journey. We are exploring this period of history from the sides of both the Allies and Axis. Those with sympathetic views towards the Nazi regime or hold any type of extreme views are not welcome here on WW2 Nation.

Marine Corp still had 2 active Dakotas up into the late 1980's. Cheap to operate.
