And while I loved seeing them come to my markert of Augusta, GA, the arena was usually 1/2 full at best most times they came, so with no real payoff to the wrestlers, I can't blame them if they drop my market for the safety of the wrestlers, and focus on my more shows that are on TV. Having said that if AEW would come to my market, and do TV then I think they could fill the arena, and have it actually look good on TV calling it a sell out crowd.
?? I’ve been told AEW wrestlers get injured because they don’t do live shows. Now wwe stats not working live shows will prevent injuries? They barely wrestle on the main shows as it is.
@@tazmike523 There are a number of factors at play you need to understand, first is how WWE poorly markets there Live shows so many don't even know about them when they come to town, they never do any kind of TV which for many is a negative paying as much as WWE charges to see a show, the per capita income is overall lower than a market like Atlanta, or Charleston so people don't spend as much, the demographics of the CSRA(Augusta and surround communities) is starting to skew too a more retirement age which don't care as much about wrestling as other events, the area where James Brown Arena is has a bad reputation for crime at night, plus the arena being old, a lot of people don't want to go it(that's being addressed eventually if they can get their act together). So yeah a lot of factors in play that AEW could take advantage of if they market their product correctly, do live TV events in or around Augusta that people want to show up for, and price the tickets accordingly thus giving people more value for their money, as some more smaller local wrestling events have been selling out in recent times.
No it's not because TNA is being used by NXT what's TNa being used by NXT NXT will kill TNA and that's when they bury TNA wrestling like WWF use WCW and kill wcw
@@BlackBoyKingTV but a lot of fans "WWE" fans want say that or acknowledge that if it wasn't for AEW... WWE wouldn't be doing no working relationships with other companies...AEW my not be other people cup of tea but they need to see what good they done for wrestling business...
@@JohnnyHDBR I agree 100%. All Tony Khan did was present an alternative. And these people act like he killed someone. While simultaneously supporting Vince McMahon. This is why wrestling fans are the most negative fans in any sport. Todays modern fan would root for WCW to fail too
There's one huge name that can convince Hunter to bring Riddle back, and Hunter will do it no questions asked if Riddle is not signed anywhere. That name is Randy Orton
@@MatthewBrecki mean, they do go way back no? Wouldn't be weird to assume that they're close friends, on top of that, Orton is a respected member of the roster his input would be heard by the higher ups
There gonna bring him back eventually anyways. He's already talked about everything that happened in interviews u can find on here. Matt riddle I'm talking about. I bet my entire life he will be back within 3-5 years max. He's enjoying his life and making plenty of money right now to watch the documentary and he gets so much more time with his family. Just type in Matt riddle documentary n find the one he's sitting at a bar
We’ll never get to know who was on the other end of the surf shark phone! It’s the lie in KO’s face all over again…. Wait was it Pete who threw the pie?!
I watch WWE and AEW, but I have been tuning in to TNA more. I have really enjoyed it, glad to see the ratings are going up for them the wrestling industry is on fire right now!
I got the feeling that Darby won his title shot before Tony realized he needed to book Bryan's "when I lose the title I'm done wrestling" angle. The Bryan vs Nigel match has to get done before that happens. They also had to figure out who's going to take the title from Bryan and end his career. I'm guessing that's going to be Moxley from the heel turn on Bryan and the changes to Grand Slam.
@@DeonSmith-ek8ne Vince was a horrible booker the last 15 years of his career. Triple H is good at booking ple's but the TV shows are boring. Still better than AEW though. TK books the way I did when I was 8 year old playing with action figures. He doesn't care about storylines or vignettes or good production value. Nah. He just wants to sign a bunch of people to an already over bloated roster and pay them a bunch of money while ignoring all of the glaring problems with his product.
So, let me get this straight. Darby had a title shot at the Grand Slam event. He gave this up to put the said title match on the line on that event. Then Nigel gets the title shot at that event... for reasons? I'm so confused...
And Tony made the match and didn't even talk to the world champ beforehand! He must have told Nigel today he can have the match if Daniel has recovered from his attempted murder and he should go out there and announce it.
@@BlackBoyKingTV Did you......did you misread hiss sentence? He is not saying Nigel is hurt. He is saying Bryan is hurt. They said he was on an iron lung and likely not to make it to grand slam. Khan then in kayfabe books him for grand slam. Its different if Daniel himself accepted the match via satellite on a hospital bed.
@@aerostrafe1075 Because its a STORY. He's not really injured you dolt. Its to create suspense. Will he wrestle ? Or wont he? If he does will he be injured? Its called KAYFABE dummy
Nigel threw out the challenge because Danielson is hurt. He either wrestles an injured opponent or gets to gloat Danielson is a coward if He doesn't accept the challenge. It's pretty basic heel stuff
My guess on the Darby and Danielson match at Arthur Ashe is, and if this is the case I do think that they need to further elaborate on it next week to clear up any confusion, but my guess is that since AEW have established that they have authority figures make/ change/ announce things like whether a match is happening or not, and that since the person who said that Danielson wasn't going to make it to Arthur Ashe was Mox, that Mox simply lied to Darby in order to goad him into putting his title opportunity on the line and that Darby bought it because he likely saw that Danielson was suffocated with a bag and carried out with an oxygen mask on just a few weeks ahead of Arthur Ashe, and also because he still holds some level of respect for Mox which he talked about in his back and forth with Mox.
Difference between Riddle and Punk is that Broski isn't anywhere near to having the drawing power that Phil has. But i still think he could be back somewhere down the line, just not anytime soon.
I think everyone is missing that this Jericho/Orange Cassidy feud is a red herring... None of the reviewers have mentioned Big Bill's reaction to Jericho's promo about friends
I think having problems with Vince and thus getting let go and then being brought back by Hunter is vastly different than being let go by Hubter though...
I don't have much of a horse in that fight because I think they're both turds, but I think I'd take Riddle being back if it meant Dana getting canned...
Why would Dana care about who WWE is signing... I mean I get both of these companies are under the TKO umbrella but how does that affect wwe signing people.
@@human0225 because Dana White has pull and his word means something. If he doesn’t like a guy, then people in that corporation will listen. Wwe and UFC are not ran inside a vacuum. There is a lot of cross management … and Riddle has burned a lot of bridges inside both branches of TKO.
I’m SHOCKED that Luke completely missed/skipped over Mox telling Darby: “I don’t have the time to explain it all to you right now, but…” which hints at a much bigger situation looming that is motivating Mox. It was the biggest Easter egg of the segment.
Respectfully, Sammy did this to himself by turning down a story and refusing to turn heel. He like Mercedes & The Bucks are way better as heels. Now, I can only imagine that they pitched him to join Jericho that’s what my first thought was. He just literally needs a gimmick is all. Being “the best ever” ain’t gonna cut it we know he can wrestle there’s just nothing to invest in.
He keeps getting into trouble backstage is his biggest problem. He got into a scuffle with Andrade. he made comments he shouldn't have. Then he just came back from suspension for the Jeff hardy match, for going on with the match after he injured Jeff. Don't think he turned down any storylines. He isn't clicking with the audience again, because of him.
Would not mind an RKBro reunion at all. And Riddle did have a point on what he said...he might've been a problem child backstage, but the WWE-Punk feud dragged on for years and now Punk is back and one of the top guys both in the ring and - apparently - backstage. Maybe Riddle can turn over a new leaf 😉 at some point as well.
Keep in mind, Danielson hasn't had the chance to respond to Nigel yet, accept the match, or demand the scheduled match with Darby. They could be playing it where Nigel knows that Danielson can't take the match because he is recovering and Nigel will frame it as Danielson being a coward, fueling a larger build to a match further down the line.
Agreed they need to run venues in smaller markers WWE is dropping with at least weekly tv once in a while as full arenas even smaller look better on TV than bigger ones 1/2 full at best.
Aew need a time to make up for the strep Tony Khan from power to give it back to kenia mega and the Young bucks so they could be in charge of the divisions aew need a board of directors team and the creative team is not working who fought for yesterday to have TK stripped from power and get that power back to the EVPs as executive EVPs of aew so aew will have the division back once again say yes if you fought for it. Who vote that 4 to come true say yes?
That 80s cheese 🧀 gem im not a fan at all! Wrestling fans like the dumbest stuff..this joe hendry and orange Cassidy got y'all shook 😂🎉I don't care for neither one of them
It would have been fine if it weren't for the complete nonsense regarding the world title. Danielson is too banged up to fight at Grand Slam... Oh sorry, we meant he's too banged up to fight ANYONE CREDIBLE at Grand Slam. Nigel McGinnis is fine. Slap in the face to anyone paying attention, AND to Nigel.
Ahah! It's an angle. Yup... Nigel is confirmed to be apart of Moxley's Band Of Miscreants. Confirmed. Run in, DQ, Beat Down, Mox and Danielson is back on. Book it! =3
I stopped watching AEW television because it just became a chore to do with my day-to-day activities, but the OutRunners are genuinely making me consider tuning back in, that’s how these guys are.
Matt Riddle is not wrong... CM Punk would have celebrated WWE going out of business just over a year ago and now he works there. Cannot really argue against the small issues Riddle brought to the table compared to Phil Brook's 9 year long smear campaign
Did anyone notice Big Bill give that look to Jericho when he was talking about there’s are no friends in wrestling. Possible face turn. Beside that everything that Jericho is doing just sucks.
I see the possibility where Daniel gets defeated by one of the baby faces, one particularly who is considered an underdog and at that moment Christian cage cashes in the contract and becomes new AEW champion. This maybe Darby but I think it will be Moxley who wins the shot from him first. Mox will lose against Daniel and Darby or other major face earns shot at the championship where they ultimately win the championship. But much to their luck its when Christian gets his plan accomplished..It creates further chase to the baby face's story and fan will back him up. This is similar to Daniel's story in WWE with Randy Orton and Authority which culminated at Wrestlemania. Although the story is similar, this formula may work if executed prefectly.
Daniel is dropping the belt to Jon Moxley or Darby genius most likely Moxley as he is a heel and it has a story built in with Darby. Hangman will probably get a shot too
@@BlackBoyKingTV yeah, I can see the story going in this direction as well.. lets see how will they connect all the dots now because the story is getting interesting.
Danielson vs. McGuinness makes less than “not a whole lot of sense,” it makes ZERO sense, and it’s all because of Tony Khan’s terrible booking and management. There are two possible reasons I can imagine why Mox said what he said to Darby: 1. Mox didn’t know Bryan was supposed to defend his title against Nigel McGuinness on Grand Slam, in which case Tony Khan is a clown for not communicating that to the AEW roster. 2. Mox DID know, and Tony ACTIVELY told Mox to say what he said, in which case Tony is a HUGE clown who doesn’t know how to build hype for a match that people are already stoked for.
I think they decided the Nigel match might be more buzzworthy, right or wrong. People have been wanting Nigel to come back just to fight Bryan. Or again we are building this Mox storyline. He knows something, maybe Tony does too? It's the bigger storyline at play. Now if the payoff is good, then yeah, if it fails, then this was a bad idea.
They went out of their way to say "if he is cleared" they even have it on the poster. So its probably going to be an angle with Nigel being a troll in some way
Not interested in a Riddle return ( never liked him, never will ) . That being said, he's right about one thing, it's that the WWE never closes their door to anyone ( Punk, Bret, and even Ultimate Warrior, were welcomed back in, in the end ) . So, on paper, yeah he could return. He mentions Punk to show that anything's possible, but, there's just one thing he forgets though. The reason why WWE brought back Punk, is because he's a mega star. He brings in the money and the ratings. Riddle is not at all in the same situation, he's not a mega star like Punk ( or Bret or Warrior ) . Riddle is more like a Heidenreich, a Luther Reigns, a Kenzo Suzuki, and WWE never brought them back, so... It's not that the door for a return was closed, it's just that WWE has no interest in them because they ain't big names, they wouldn't boost the ratings or anything. Riddle is in that same boat. It's not that the WWE would be like " No, this guy we'll never bring him back, we've closed the door on him " , no, on paper the door will always be open. But, it's just, why would WWE have any interest in bringing back a nobody, someone who won't boost the ratings, someone who won't bring in a lot of money, ect ? He's a guy that causes multiple problems backstage, and who's just as important on screen as a Heidenreich or a Luther Reigns was. Wouldn't make sense to bring him back, to me. Bringing him back would be too many negatives, and not a single positive in return to make up for it.
Mox said Darby wasn't getting the title match, Darby took the bait because babyface. Nigel challenged Bryan, Bryan just wants to kick someone's f**kin head in at all times.
Lack of reaction throughout the night was cuz it’s in Lexington. I don’t see why they didn’t do Cincinnati again. It’s and hour away and the crowd is always so much better.
Sounds like the issue with the tag team gauntlet, which AEW used to do, was listen to the crowd. They want the Outrunners regarded higher toward the top. Private Party beating the Bucks on the first Dynamite was a welcome surprise. Since then, they haven’t tried to run back that match more than once I believe?
None of this makes sense. Darby doing a Cody Rhoades dropping his shot at WrestleMania is incoherent.Darby looks like an idiot. Darby should have said I'll fight Bryan if he's cheated for the title but if not I'll face Mox. Mox not thinking your test means nothing. Wrestle Danielson and beat him to prove it. Why wrestle Moxley? There's nothing to gain. Mox didn't even have any stipulation. If he loses, what, he has to tell Darby he thinks he's ready? Nonsensical. And why would Bryan wrestle Nigel on the same card as his attempted killers are wrestling?? Why wouldn't he day he'll face Mox. There's nothing in a match with Nigel. He's going to take some time to recover by being in a tough matchup with an old rival while his attackers are just hanging around?? Horrible booking.
It just feels like WWE is becoming more what I wanted AEW to be with a more sport-like/serious presentation and AEW is becoming more what WWE used to be with the over the top presentation. I don't think AEW is bad but it just feels like something's still off.
Bryan vs Nigel not happening at Grand Slam Dynamite but may at WrestleDream or All in Texas or Grand Slam Australia It is a Huge Match should not be wasted at Dynamite
