WCW was mostly killed by the Time Warner/AOL merger. Without Ted Turner there to protect it, they were definitely going to get axed whether the quality of the show picked back up or not.

Aye and 2000 set new records on PPV sales, buy rates, gates and revenue WCW had no chance.

It was an easy decision for new management based on the numbers. The damage was done, nobody was gonna take a chance after they completely destroyed their own name and reputation in 1999-2000.

Irony is that 98% of the shows in the Attitude Era were PG. In fact it was the Ruthless Aggression era that was TV-14 more often.

Kyle Morgan PG now and PG then is different. The product now is closer to a G rating. Most of what made the Attitude era great was not the edgyness (Although this did help a lot with the quality) it was mostly them ''opening the creative envelope'' in Mcmahons words.
