Yeah on rewatching it it was a lot of momentum. The crowd and the cold and open stadium were throwing things off at the beginning when watching it live.
Soon as he showed up, I immediately knew he'd take a crazy bump. My favorite was the DDT from Gargano on Pete Dunne through the table and the the Ciampa White Noise off the ladder on Tyler Bate. Both were sick.
The reason that Jason Kelce and Lane Johnson helped Rey is because when Jason’s brother (Travis Kelce) won the SuperBowl, Jason got a Rey Mysterio’s mask in the celebration, and a couple days ago Mysterio “contacted” him to congratulate him on his career and to get him a green and black mask instead of a Kansas City Chief’s mask…… besides, Jason Kelce and his wife are basically the king and queen of Philly
About a year ago I would watch videos of their concerts and jokingly call the lead singer Rhea Ripley. Then later realized they sing her theme song. So this was just perfect
Crowd sucked cuz 85% of the event sucked. R- Truth and the main event were the only big highlights. R Truth got the biggest pop out of everyone outside the Tag Team Main Event..........I love R Truth and think the Miz deserves a run as a babyface, but cmon they cant be getting the 2nd loudest pop of the night
@@vishwaa5158mid lol then you surely have so poor taste tag team title match was the match of the night along with intercontinental followed by main event. Rest matches were decent except jey vs jimmy
There in Philly last night, crazy wind through the whole event (we were in nosebleeds and screaming the whole time which is where the real fans sit) also heard audio issues for the event but trust me it was electric in the stadium! Wish it was conveyed to those watching
The fact that it was their childhood dream to face each other at Mania and this is what we got. No wonder why Rikishi didn’t want to be the special guest ref
In my opinion It’s not meant to be a 5 star match. They brothers, deep down they don’t want to hurt eachother, but they want to prove their worth and show why they are the best uso. Anything you can do I can do better type. But yes a little underwhelming, I thought it would build to something, but decent in ring storytelling and when Roman loses, which he will, maybe this will lead to something big. Or maybe I’m wrong, but if I’m wrong, well then we all wrong
This whole notion that people need to lose at wrestlemania is dumb as fuck. Where they lose it doesn’t all that matters is that they have a compelling story as to why they lose it
@@User-b9q2zsheamus is better than sammi. He's the only physical presence similar to gunther, 6x world champion, king of the ring, royal rumble winner. Ye sheamus is more of a believable winner than sammi 😅😂
Now also due to the cold weather and the strong winds the sounds of the crowd was altered. Lets see what occurs at night 2 to be able to judge the crowd.
Sami and gunther had the best match right next to the 6 man tag match. That brainbuster scared the livin shit out of me. I thought they botched the superplex at first and i thought gunther was concussed😂
For Real i'm glad Gunther Lost to this crazy move that hé has never had to deal with. Good storytelling i didn't predict Sami to win but i'm fine with it
Sami Zayn vs Gunther is my personal dream match and getting to see that with my favourite wrestler going over made me so damn happy. We were screaming our fucking heads off at 11 in the morning.
Me and my Mate played ‘take a shot per superkick’ during the Usos match. So I wanna say thank you for posting this because i blacked the fuck out for the rest of Mania lmao
I miss when there was only ONE REAL superkick in the WWE... Sweet Chin Music. Now everybody and they momma does that shit to the point where it rarely wins matches
The main event was fun i thought it was great even though it was a little long After that the rhea match and the gunther match were highlights for me Uso match was probably the biggest dissapointment but im guessing its the first match of a long feud
I'm so happy Sami caught the victory. WWE 2K15 is my favorite WWE game of all time and Sami Zayn was a character in it because of the NXT mode. I loved playing with him, even though I do like Sami, I did kind of doubt him if he could do it. But oh my God, he did, I'm so happy for him. The underdog strikes!
I predicted the Rock & Roman going over, absolutely the correct decision, especially Cody eating the pin. Can’t have both Seth & Roman eating pins before their title defenses. Now, Cody is definitely winning tomorrow.
13:00 I have to say that as a Phildelphian, seeing Kelce and Lane Johnson was the most jaw dropping and exciting moment of the night for me, there involvement was absolutely meant for the Philly crowd Also I have to say that the crowd last night was an embarrassing representation of Philly and I promise that they do not represent all of Philly
philly fans are some of the most emotional in the entirely of sports (in a good way). i was expecting way more pops and reactions but i'm disappointed and it lowkey ruined a lot of night one's hype
One thing that really bothered me were the ads plastered all over the place. I can let the Prime logo slide, but having an entire LED advertisement on the ring and barricade was just annoying and very distracting.
For those Saying the crowd sucked, understand. Outdoor stadiums NEVER fair well on TV (for what ever the reason) but as someone who was there live, IT WAS ELECTRIC!!!!! Just a CRAZY atmosphere! Regardless of what you may think, I can promise you that in reality, it was fantastic 🤷🏾♂️
I was there in Philly sitting behind the announcers table, my section was into every match I can’t speak for the rest of the stadium but we were going bananas for Rhea, Jey vs Jimmy, Gunther vs Sami and all.
Guys I went to NXT stand and Deliver and the crowd was pretty good. I didn’t go to Night 1 Mania, but I am going to Night 2 hoping the crowd would be more hyped in person.
I was in the crowd, and it was super cold and very windy night 1. As you can tell the difference between night 1 and night 2. Night 2 was warmer and barely any wind most of the night.
The Sami & Gunther match was basically Rocky 4. Where Rocky was taking all the punishment from Drago only to just find a way to win in the end due to his shear determination & perseverance. Sami was Rocky & Gunther was Drago.
I’ve no clue how but my dad predicted that Kelce would come out in the Rey match because he wore a Lucha mask at the chiefs after party (he doesn’t really watch wrestling which I think makes it more impressive 🤣)
The only thing you could connect Travis Kelce and the LWO match is, after the Chiefs superbowl win, there was a party and Kelce was wearing a Rey mask at the after party. Also, at the Pat Mcafee Show, there were a ton of Eagles fans there, multiple times the crows was chanting the eagles theme. i know its Pats show but i think there was more eagles fans there than you think.
I was watching Wrestling with a friend who's not really ever been big into Wrestling and he was hooked from the first two matches. I then filled him in with the storyline stuff and he stayed up until the end just to watch the Tag Match finale. This was a great show for non-Wrestling fans / people who wanna just try Wrestling.
What I would have changed about the matches: Rhea vs Becky: Becky delivers a second manhandle slam and Rhea kicks out still, making Becky beside herself and respecting Rhea at the end 6 Man Ladder Match: Nothing, it was perfect. Maybe Ricochet taking down JD Mcdonagh since JD had cost Ric his Andre the Giant match Jey vs Jimmy: Everything, tf was this. And Jimmy should have won by cheating or deceiving Jey to prolong this rivalry Jade, Bianca and Asuka vs Damage Control: Maybe Jade taking a few bumps, other than that it was fine Rey and Andrade vs Dom and Santos: Dom and Santos winning with a Carlito heel turn Gunther vs Sami: Sami really shouldn't have won this. I love the guy, I wish he wins the world championship, but he should not have dethroned friggin Gunther, Chad is still the best one to do that Cody and Seth vs Rock and Roman: the crowd, I'd change the frickin crowd
The wind and cold weather did put a damper on the enthusiasm, but when awesome truth and sami won my ears were ringing from the pop we were just grumpy from the weather tbh
I know a lot of people think its mid and i understand. I dont think its mid i do think its a good night but i see why yall say that. Its probably really the usos match leaving a bad taste in your moutb tho💀wwe got to put a limit on the superkicks they use .5 per max buddy
1.Rhea vs becky - rhea's entrance was fire , good start to the show(8/10) 2.tag team ladder match - It was perfect so many great moments everyone looked like a star and they finally splited the damn titles😂, awesome truth and theory waller best choice of champions(9.2/10) 3. Rey andrade vs dominik santos - w match short & simple , the result might be questionable, crowd was not responding (7/10) 4. Jimmy vs jey - hell naw wtf 😭 super kick spam it didn't do it for me i was expecting way way way more 🤦🏻♂️ (3/10) crowd weirdly chanting yeet everytime 😭 5.damage ctrl vs jade bianca naomi - W match, fire entrances for both teams , jade's aura is unmatched (7.5/10) 6. Sami vs gunthet - oh my god wwe sold me on sami i was so pumped after the build up for sami entrance , even though i wanted chaddy daddy to dethrone gunther 🥹, This was the best match of the night for me . I was cheering for sami to dethrone Gunther but i knew he wont , but he did 😨 i was shocked but i accepted (10/10) for me 7. Roman rock vs seth cody - i didn't expect rock to give us a 50 min classic, it was perfectly choreographed w story during the match , Rock looked best in the match , every entrance was perfect, hope cody wins tomorrow 💜(9.5/10) WrestleMania night 1 overall(9/10)🔥 Phili crowd was not good , can't get away with this open stadium excuse hoping they do better at night 2
How do you dislike Jey vs Jimmy but like that 6 woman disaster? That was easily the worst match on the card. It’s not even like the woman’s division is as big as the men’s, burying Asuka and honestly also Kairi for essentially one star who barely was in the match?
Lane Johnson was the other guy who was kelces teammate. To me they helped Rey because kelce had that Rey type of mask at the superbowl when Travis won. Rey co-sign with them and that’s were they got the connection
The main Event was a complete W. The rock was involved much more than I thought, couldn't tell he was almost 60. The enrances were amazing as well. The whole match was great. Old school start, and new generation finish with chaos and multiple finishers
Jey vs Jimmy was bad. LWO vs Legado del Fantasma was decent with a weird finish, though the crowd seemed into it. 6-woman tag was short but I get why. The rest were great matches
From someone who went yes it was cold as hell and no crowd was not dead AT ALL sound crew was messing things up throughout the night but the crowd was ALIVE and very well loud
The crowd was crazy as someone who went. One time a dude wipes advertisement was presented and everyone just chanted dude wipes and that was the best environment as I heard this is awesome thousands of times
love your content Santi but im not gonna lie, I was in Philly tn and I dont think the camera did the crowd justice because the place was extremely loud. maybe the fans on the floor looked out of it but 70% of that stadium was hype the entire time
Unfortunately yes because everybody all got tickets lol but this crowd was ass I was there just a bunch of mfs looking around bored and stuck to their phones and not watching the match . This might be my last mania ever I go to lmao. My last once I went to was 30 and being there for 8+ hours the crowd was STILL electric and even we were sad about takers loss we still got loud as ever for Bryan’s moment this crowd just suckkkeddd
@@jayden7212I would be laughing so hard if after Cody wins the match and crowd actually boos him out so loud. On one hand people were saying WWE can't make roman wins because crowds will goes mad it's Philly crowds they are serious about it and will boo roman and rock out of building like 2015. Back in present after WrestleMania same internet fans are cursing Philly crowds to be worst and disrespectful lol
I was there at Wrestlemania and the a big part and reason the crowd was kinda dead and weak was due to the weather. Sometimes when I would pull out my phone to record, my fingers would go numb and everyone was just not having it with the weather.
12:38 the background for the Lane Johnson and Kelce saving Rey, is that the Kelce brothers have admitted to being WWE fans, and Jason finding a KC Chiefs Rey mask after the Super Bowl and wearing it to party. Combing this with needing an easy Philly pop being Eagles players, and party of the offensive line, that has become very well known to Eagles and NFL fans because of their play, the New Heights podcast, 2 Christmas albums and other shenanigans. That’s about the only backstory they have.
I think kelce getting involved was because after Travis won the Super Bowl Jason had a Lucha mask on at parties. The other guy is lane Johnson who plays with him
I’ll be at Night 2 doing my best to be loud, but I’m not sure how far one voice can carry😭😭😭. Hopefully everyone else in the crowd is lit tonight too lol
I was there last night, my section we were pretty vocal but it dies pretty quick. I’ve no voice this morning I was yelling so much 😂 gonna need help to be loud night 2
For me it was kinda boring...for a Wrestlemania and the number 40, was expecting a lot more. The biggest spotlight of the show was Michael Cole talking about the weather
12:30 it’s true, it’s still random. the only connection i can make apart from obviously philly, was that jason found and wore a rey mysterio type mask with the chiefs logo on it for a while when he was celebrating with his brother.
Most shocking moment is probably Sami vs Gunther. I kind of expected Sami to gain the upper hand during some point of the match but i never in a million years expected him to win. Best match of the night is the tag match (Rock & Roman vs Cody & Seth) Overall: 7.5 to 8/10.
It’s because when the Chiefs won the Super Bowl he was scene celebrating with his brother Travis while wearing a Rey Mysterio mask, he has also said he’s a huge fan of Rey Mysterio
I was there and the crowd WAS NOT DEAD. Also, dont blame your perceived lack of enthusiasm on the weather. It honestly wasn't that cold if you dressed accordingly. Night 2 will be slightly warmer.
Not gonna lie. The Miz and R-Truth winning raw tag titles really tugged at my heart, R-Truth is such a wonderful and seems fresh each time. R-Truth is an under appreciated legend. I don’t understand why Andrade doesn’t get more credit. He is so freaking good and always has been. Also this crowd was undeniable that Philadelphia is a crappy place to be and they should never go back.
The only reason the crowd seemed dead on night 1 because it was super cold there especially at an outdoor stadium. It was like less than 50 degrees out there throughout the whole night and imagine you’re a fan that’s sitting there for hours at a time in cold weather 1:02
Jey and Jimmy NEED to expand their moveset if they're gonna make it as singles stars. It felt like they went through their entire repetoire in the first 90 seconds of the match, and that's why it devolved into superkick spam. The law of diminishing returns is real with these two.
Biggest revelation since Vince has been out was clean finishes. No foolishness. Cody lost after taking a Superman Punch, Spear, Rock Bottom and People’s Elbow. So losing didn’t make him look weak. Gunther lost clean but in a way that made sense as Santi pointed out. Such good story telling.
It was super cold out, the problem of having an open air stadium is taking a gamble on the weather it was really windy and that killed a lot of the hype everyone around me was shivering
I think the open stadium and the way in which the crowd was so spread out, lead to the lack of noise. Especially when they kept banging on about 72k people, cause it didn’t sound that way
Outside of Jimmy vs Jey which was impossibly dissapointing, every match was good. The arena acoustics were bad, and WWE did nothing to make it better because even when you did hear them yelling or doing certain chants the announce team was just significantly louder than the crowd. But match wise? Basically everything was great. The standouts were the ladder tag match, the Sami V Gunther match, and the Main Event. All three of those matches were absolutely sensational and I’m so happy for everybody involved. They all did amazing.
Santi this was my first ever show and I will never forget it. I watched from 2008 till maybe 2015 and then i stopped watching only to come back earlier this year thanks to youtubers like you and TheGreatOne. I just wanted to say thank you for all you do for this community.
I expected so much less out of the Six-Pack Ladder match. The spots were crazy, and Waller & Theory getting titles was surprising. Becky v. Rhea, Gunther v. Sami and the Main Event were AMAXING to me. Jey v. Jimmy was... Weird? Disappointing? They didn't really manage to say anything with that fight, imo. They didn't reconcile (which would excuse them taking it easy on one another), they didn't go all out. I didn't really care for the feud and was still disappointed. The LWO v. Legado match and ES-Team v. DMG-CTRL were ok. The most interesting thing is just how over Jade is, and she's barely donr anything yet.
Jade, Naomi and Bianca’s attires looked like they were paying homage to the X-men. Jade as Storm, Bianca had a cyclops visor, and Naomi kinda looked like Gambit
