I remember reading gun magazines in the old days, and Mike was always super informative. He's always been an expert in older guns,God bless Mike.

Nice video, had the chance to handle a few of these during my time with Frankonia Jagd back in the 90’s when I was the black powder and surplus arms specialist.

It really does, and it shoots as well as it looks, I always look back on these and wish we would have had more time with all of these guns but it is genuine these are my first shots ever from a G33 and it did not disappoint! --Jeremiah

Love the content of these videos. Mike has such a depth of knowledge I have learned a ton from him and the rifle and hand loader magazines over the years. A single shot series would be neat. Lots of history

I know I speak for Mike as well when I say thank you for taking the time to watch and comment! We were on a crazy schedule to get this all filmed in time and he was recalling nearly all this information right off the top of his head and all of this was unscripted on the fly. Thanks again! --Jeremiah

Nice little slip-on butt pad makes a huge difference. Extra length also does great. My no. 5 seems to have a short butt stock, heard that was common. Clay.

That makes a lot of sense and is a great idea a little something to take the edge off the recoil, as much as we were joking back and forth about it, the pad does make it less comfortable. Great suggestion and thank you for watching and taking the time to comment! --Jeremiah

I have a vz.24, first year commercial action custom made into a 458 Win Magnum. I hunt bear and elk with it,. On elk I do worry about the possibility of wishing it had more range, but such a gun needs to be carried afield.

A few years ago I got a beautiful ww2 german military mountain mauser but unfortunately it got stolen from My house with other ww2 items , I remember it had a very good kick, ww2 guns and rifles are great and the Germans mausers were tops, out of all the ww1 and ww2 rifles to me the most accurate was the swedish Mauser 6.5 ×55 I had 2 ( stolen from my house too with other stuff) I had a 1899 and a 1930s swedish Mausers ,I remember the only other rifles that were accurate was a Winchester pre 64 in 243 caliber, the swedish Mausers were made for the military but they used the best steel.
