The outfitters dont hunt that basin cause they dont want to work that hard. The time and dedication you put into that hunt was absolutely unbelievable and you should be forever grateful for that bull it was a beautiful mature bull and you are a rockstar for staying out on the mountain as long as you did and your dad is a legend to do the whole hunt with you. This was a great film! Good job on the editing, the narrative, and shooting! Plus great hunting. Only thing I could add on would be to pack a set of camp clothes with you and pack your hunting clothes away as soon as you decide to start a fire, cook, or when you've decided to pack it in for the day on the mountain to help with your scent.

I glassed that bull for two nights and intended to make that crazy climb on the third day but tagged out in the am in a different spot and I'm glad I didn't have to try because you already had your hands on him. This is just a great film! Best real hunting film in awhile.The units you were in are my close-to-home general areas that I hunt mule deer and elk every year. Its nice to see these areas through another hunters eyes. Great play running the ridges up there. Happy New Year and I hope you can make it back to Wyoming for a another hunt! Its a special place!

New sub here. The editing and commentary of this hunt really impressed me with how it brought the whole hunt together. Your bull and the hunt for him is the kind of story guys who don’t hunt the west every year dream about doing. You did it the way most guys have to do it. You guys put the time, went through adversity, and shot a champ of an old mature bull. Way to go on your guys success, and it was a great hunt and pack out to watch!

You got me thinking about September. As a former outfitter who chased after elk with oversized antlers for many years I’d say that you got yourself an excellent bull. I enjoyed your video.

Fantastic work gentleman! Living not too far from that area, you need to have time and weather on your side to get an animal the size of an elk out as the work getting 350lbs of meat and antlers out is going to far outweigh getting yourself and gear into it. Applying high country mule deer tactics to an elk hunt can be very rewarding and my knees quivered when you said it took 3 days to pack that big bull out. However, I've always like to say, I'd rather spend 2 or 3 days packing a big bull out then spend a week looking for a raghorn to fill my tag that was closer to the truck. Congrats on a great hunt and thanks for sharing it.

Well done on a great hunt and production of this film! Like Brian Call said, you did some good storytelling, something a lot of RU-vid and professional channels/shows lack. You were hunting here around Jackson Hole - some of the most challenging terrain with good numbers of elk. But you showed that in order to get that quality of hunt, you really need to work for it (usually on foot) and plan accordingly doing your homework. Like your neighboring outfitters told you, that drainage holds animals but they didn't want to navigate it with their horses and guides. That's probably why you didn't see much for human activity in there! There are many that are just physically incapable of doing what you and your father did, so thanks for bring us along on the ride to live vicariously through your efforts. Can't wait for more; I subscribed!
