I’m sure wyrmwood is gonna love this video. Your points are really well thought out and make the product compelling still! I can’t wait until MGT 2.0!

Thanks for another great video, Perc! This kinda makes me wish I had gotten the player desk I was originally planning on getting. That being said, if I find myself in a situation like that, I can already think of like 5 different solutions to solve that. They're just not as aesthetically pleasing. hahaha

Thanks for posting! The rolly chairs are nice, but you should buy a Wyrmwood chair for fun. The armed Diana is surprisingly comfortable.

I really love seeing practical uses on how to set this up and what it looks like. My family enjoys board game night and I been thinking about investing in this. How is it for table top card games like magic the gathering?

You would likely find that MTG could comfortably work for either in the vault or on the toppers. Playing in the vault would likely be more unique and fun but also allow for a better view of the cards since they’re a bit lower and more visible for all to see.

@@ThePercOfGaming Thank you for the reply, I was eyeing up the medium size table and that sounds good either in the vault or on the toppers, thank you!

Thanks for all of these videos. Very informative! Could you share the width of the armrests? They look like a decent width. Are the inside edges flush with the vault? Just curious if the view of things close to the edge of the vault is obstructed.

Wow sorry I somehow missed this comment a while back. To answer your question the arm rest is 3.5” wide and yes the inside edge of the rail is flush with the vault. Depending on your chair height and how close to the table you’re leaning you could have a small amount of the table obstructed but it is normally only 1-2” at worst.

How strong do you feel the player desks are? I am wondering about holding a hefty game like the Gloomhaven box on there during play. Do you feel the weight of a hefty game (15+ lbs) could cause problems for the desk or the table?
@ThePercOfGaming
@ThePercOfGaming 2 года назад
That wouldn’t be an issue. Not sure what rating of weight it would be but for sure Gloomhaven would be fine.

Is this the black walnut or rustic (black) walnut table? Great videos, super informative.

When playing games like Wingspan with player mats, are the bottom bits of the player mats obscured from you view while seated? I'd hate to have to crane my neck (heh) to see into the vault all the time. Difficult to tell from the video. (Sorry if you've already answered this.)
@ThePercOfGaming

Because you can sit forward on the rail it’s not an issue to see in and against the rails. If you use a player desk it can be a little more complex. I recommend checking out my player desk view video to learn more if you care about player desks.

I’m thinking of getting this exact table but unsure how comfortable it’ll be in the game room. If I may ask what dimension is your game room wall to wall? Also nice chairs, do you know the make and model by chance?
@ThePercOfGaming
@ThePercOfGaming 2 года назад
12 feet wide x 12 feet long (the space from the front of my kallax board game shelves to my doors). I have approx 4 ft of space from wall to table rail due to chairs being a little wider. With chairs tucked in that gives approx 2.5 ft of walking space to move around them. I also have enough room for people to sit on either end of table although the double doors must remain open for that side to be used as an end cap. I wouldn’t go less than 3 ft of space from rail to wall for dining chairs since they tuck in tighter as that’s industry standard. The chairs are secret labs 2020 omega black3 soft weave. I also purchased a Titan in PU leather and would highly recommend the soft weave for the minimal up charge. The PU leather will wear out quicker and get damaged more easily from my tests. Only reason I’d go Titan is if somebody is that big they need it. I’m 5’10” 160lb and fit comfortably in omega. One thing to note about chairs is that the arm rests don’t go under the dining table height by about an inch. Otherwise they’re a great buy and people have enjoyed using them.

I don't own a gaming table but I still try to get my mind wrapped around all the money spent to keep dice inside the gaming table (with the recessed area that game tables provide) only to see a bunch of dice towers placed inside or around the outside of the table designs... WTF. Ok I get folk don't want the dice rolling to ruin their fiddly game but surely this is overkill and redundant. IMHO one of the entire points of this recessed area was to control the dice from rolling off the table...So are we back to the idea that people cheat when rolling dice without a die tower...(a rarely spoken thing but seemingly public knowledge and implied in the popularity of dice towers?)
@ThePercOfGaming
@ThePercOfGaming 2 года назад
Appreciate and respect your opinion on this. Personally I love the satisfaction of using a dice tower (sounds in particular). The benefits of a vault go way beyond dice not falling off a table including having the ability to have a second game out with toppers on, visibility since it is lower than table top height, and ability to reach across table easier due to recessed height. I don’t think I’ve ever met somebody I felt needed to use a dice tower out of fears of cheating but could understand that might be a concern for a select few highly competitive circumstances. I hope you’re able to experience a gaming table some day as it’s a wonderful experience especially with the MGT. Thanks for watching the video and sharing your comment!

There’s actually a decent amount of space around the table still for players on the end or snacks. That said if there’s a specific game you’re curious to see at the table let me know and if I have it I’ll showcase it in a future video! I plan to show a feast for Odin which is notorious for being a table hog.
