Wyze Cam Outdoor External Antenna Modification 

Hi Nickolus, thanks again for the detailed video. I know your didn’t pull out the lens unit. I am having issues with my PIR. It doesn’t seem to trigger the camera on even though I have made all the right settings on the app My questions are: 1. Where is the PIR? 2. Is it possible to clean or fix it? 3. I see the battery has 4 wires - Red, Black, yellow and white. Do any of these pairs power the PIR? Thanks again

Hi Nickolas. I just came across this video. Thanks for the detail. I have (4) WOC v1 cameras working off a base station but they appear to be reaching end of life, in that two now will no longer charge. Thanks to your video, I was able to safely extract the battery in the first dead camera but, cannot find a source for a replacement. Any suggestions?

Hi Nickolus, i did a tear down for any visible damage to the parts and didn’t find anything of concern. I went all the way to removing and putting back the PIR sensor. After I put back everything, the camera is getting into a boot loop and not coming back online. The blue/yellow light comes and then goes after some time but not connecting to the base. Can you share your thoughts? Also any info on the some of the flex cable- for the powerboard and for the internal boards. I may have damaged one of the cables but using a replacement from a V1z Thanks

The main problem I've had with WCOs is not so much range as BATTERY problems. It seems if the charge gets too low they will refuse charging. I wish there was a readily available replacement or a process to REVIVE them.

Great video. Have you ever had water get inside the camera considering the antenna is mounted on top of the camera? Side note: I did mine and must have gotten a little lucky as I actually didn't have to trim the plastic support piece that slides in next to the battery. It slid right back in perfectly. So to others attempting this, make sure yours actually needs to be trimmed before you actually do so.

I believe my problem will be solved with only a small increase in range. Should I try upgrading the camera or the base first? Which upgrade is easiest and which gives the best signal increase? PS Thanks for making these videos!

Great vid, How did you get the metal plate out, and what are the measurements from the sides to where you drilled the hole? TIA...
