What people don’t realize is that x-24 is not meant to be some charismatic/badass villain. He’s a personification of what Logan always feared of becoming in the weapon x program. He is a living version of Logan’s worst nightmare
@@whatsittoya4959I agree with you, very true even though he is a clone that’s definitely what Wolverine was remember in days of future past? Jean gave him his memories back though.
@@marvelswadeteamup400 I thought Mutants were able to live longer lives than humans, if they didn't die prematurely. I just wish that Logan would have taken down X-24 along with himself. Like if Laura had one more vial of that blue stuff tucked away and managed to inject Logan with it, giving them enough time to get away from X-24, while he sacrifices himself for them. I think, in some ways, a more fitting death would've been him dying at the border of Canada and U.S. Like how he's always been either a Canadian or American, and sometimes neither.
@@zaynes5094 yea he just got hella over powered, no one has came close to kill Wolverine. Literally X-24 was the only one who did have the strength to kill him only because he was in a weakened state.
when logan says "it wasnt me, it wasnt me" it makes me so sad because when charles confessed to x-24 he thought it was logan and then he killed him.. hopefully charles knows that but still is just so sad.. so so sad
The father stands up to the corrupt local police with zero fear. The son comes at X-24 with a bat without a seconds hesitation. The mother aims a gun at X-24 again without hesitation, trying to save a girl she only knew for a few days, and then tells his husband to stay downstairs to avoid him getting hurt. The father does the exact opposite and runs upstairs right after hearing the gunshot trying to protect his family, gets stabbed in the chest and falls down the stairs, then gets back up and runs him over with his car and demobilises him with a gun. What a badass family
Seriously, I watched this movie for the first time (like completely, I've had basically all of it spoiled for me anyway) and I was literally so upset because i knew the family was done for as soon as they invited Logan and them into their home. That's one part I didn't actually know about but I in a sense did know because it was near certain that their good deed wouldn't go unpunished
This movie is so perfect. It makes you feel, it makes you care, it tears you apart and rips your guts as everything you thought was just comic book characters become so real and so relatable: the downfall of Xavier, Logan getting to be old and miserable and losing everything he once hold dear to him, the tragedy of X-23, the mindless killing machine that is X-24, the world going to hell... Sometimes the real apocalypse is not in the big catastrophic events or ruthless villains, it's in the little things that shape our world for the worst and we don't realize until it's too late. This movie has so many layers and so much meaning that, by the end, you cannot avoid crying after witnessing the whole journey. Not many superhero movies get to this level of beauty.
It's sad to think that superhero films nowadays can't be even 1% of what Logan was, the Wolverine film transformed the way this fantastic universe interacts with reality, It's such a good film that it's unfair to give a summary compliment, it deserves to be applauded for everything it is until your hands get tired...
What’s terrifying about X24 is that’s it’s not human, meaning it has no conscience or remorse for what it does, It just kills whatever stands in its way with no mercy to give. It’s like the terminator
I feel he still showed some mercy for Charles. Seem he was little attached to him. He was supposed to be a killing machine but he Listened to Charles's story and then killed him without turning that into a brutal butchering.
@@SP-tr8fm Nope, when he pulled the claws out, he was about to stab him some more before Laura interruptd him... you can see him tensing to stab him more...
I love how this scene turns into from emotional to a horror experience. First the sad part to hear Charles when he starts to remember his seizure in Westchester which he regretted and said that he don't deserve that perfect night, before X 24 kills him. Even when Caliban was devastated in 2:19 to see X-24 kill Charles and that innocent family he, Laura and Logan just befriended and Logan was so shocked to see his clone, Charles dying and Laura kidnapped in 3:00.
Can we talk about Charles monologue before he dies? It was even more gut wrenching than anything. "This was, without a doubt, the most wonderful night i had in a long time... but dont deserve it ". It really hurts seeing the kindest mutant of all have so much regret and pain.
It's especially strong because it very nearly confirms the theory everyone had at the time, which is that Charles, during one of those massive seizures, killed the X-Men.
@@Member_Of_the_Golden_DawnHes pretty damn powerful though like he has 6 sharp ass blades he can easily conceal, heal instantly and cant die from bombs, guns or missiles. He’s like the ultimate weapon
That innocent average family being brutally killed if fking horrific and disturbing. That not invloved in logans mess, they have no idea whats going on, they were just killed for no reason to them, especially that teenage boy! Jesus christ its so dark
I really love the fact Logan went and checked on Charles first. The family he knows, and reassures he didn’t do it. But also, I wish he started to defend his “daughter”. I really rather have loved that both Charles and the father of the family lived and Logan got back his daughter. Also what would’ve been the alternate universe’s version where Charles lived? In MultiVerse of Madness..
I think mortality was the point of the movie though. At the time this was meant to be the definitive end for jackman’s time as the character. Finality is very rare in superhero movies.
@@samogonbrother but at this point Wolverine and Hugh Jackmann are tied together. So the finale for wolverine should have been his retirement from the role. Just think it seems a little more impactful that way.
@@bradysmith4245honestly i have some faith that Deadpool 3 is gonna be very good for this reason. I don’t think Jackman would’ve returned if the script wasn’t good, and if it wasn’t a movie with his friend Ryan Reynolds, who probably did most of the talking him into it (along with a fat check of course)
Not gonna lie, I never cried to any of the Marvel films, not even Infinity War or Endgame, but this one is the first one I cried to, especially when Charles died.
Regardless of how we all\some feel about the previous versions of X-men and they're different portrayals and actors, seeing Xavier die in front of our eyes, really hit us. Then of course Logan himself.
As a dementia nurse this hits so much harder. Fuck Alzheimer's man... I'd bet all my life savings that there's a way to cure it or at the very least inhibit most of the symptoms but there's some rich, pompous prick out there wanting to monetize it to make them millions before it's released to the public. I love this movie but it's a difficult watch for me because Charles represents the disease perfectly although in comic book form of course. There's so many people out there who's minds are failing them whether it's dementia or something as common as mental health.
Its sad, but we're not meant to be here for eternity. Our Bodies are part of physicality and will return there. "us" on the other hand that utilize these bodies to experience rich colors that make a sunset, rich smells that make for a good family dinner in the evening, the rich feelings of love and anger - never age, never wear out, for these aspects of reality are non physical. Physicality in itself at the smallest scale loses all physical form and simply becomes "Properties", it is consciousness that is capable of "Creating" physical structures from "potentials" that make up physicality - in other words it is life in itself that gives rise to the physical constructs we interact with. Life, including all life that is capable of interacting with its environment, not only on earth but across the cosmos. Dementia is awful, awful for the individual experiencing it, awful for those around them, just.. terrible. But we're not supposed to be here forever. Due to the sheer complexity of existence it has allowed for all sorts of issues to occur that make the process of passing over potentially horrifying. Western Culture has nailed it in our heads that we must keep ourselves here for as long as possible because "There is nothing after death, this is it". Terrible belief, considering its so shallow and holds absolutely no "facts" to support it. But as a result we end up forcing individuals who are ready to pass away, to stay alive and endure the pain of a failing body as we pump them with chemicals to keep them here for as long as possible. We shouldn't fear death, just the process that may occur to reach death. Death is part of the process of our very existence and is required, it seems. We come, we gather a unique experience from our unique perspective in the cosmos, then our disassociation of self breaks down as our body breaks down and we return with an identity, an experience, knowledge. To what? We will know when we pass away. But the Western beliefs of "this is it because I cant remember before birth and when people die they dont come back" is incredibly shallow in terms of logical thought, considering we havent a clue as to what Consciousness is, as to what physicality is, as to what anything is. anyways, I wish dementia on no individual and I hope mankind can discover a way to manage/erase dementia from the process of death.
I mean ngl he is cool af but at the same time it's kinda scary thinking about it I mean x 24 is basically a living embodiment of logan's worst fears that he might end up one day turning into the heartless machine he was originally designed to be
Logan takes place in 2029. The film states that no new mutants have been born in the last 25 years (making 2004 the last year that mutants were naturally born). However, in the ending to DoFP, which takes place in 2024, we see that Xavier's school is still thriving, and it includes many teenage mutants. So this is just an alternate timeline exploring a darker story.
@@MagnumTriumphWell considering the fact that the continuity of these films are non existent, this could very well be the DOFP timeline and they just fucked up the continuity like they always did before.
@@FuriousAnim In DOFP, Xavier states; "If we pull Logan out now, we may set things on an even darker path". My understanding is that this movie is exploring that darker path where humans scrapped the sentinel program and wiped out mutants anyway by putting genetic weapons in the water supply.
An unfeeling killer Logan is a terrifying thought. This movie went from a superhero film to a horror movie for this scene with the family, when the kid with the bat shows up and you know he has no chance, heartbreaking.
I know I KNOW it is perfect as is for some people But GOD DAMMIT I really really wish we had Magneto in here the film too. I can just imagine how Erik would have burst through the door finding his best friend dying and he would try to attack X24 while Logan made his way out with Charles and Magneto would have died here in a last ditch effort to save his friend. Because Professor X has died on screen 3 times now and Magneto never died once. I think it would have been savage yet sweet if we saw him die to protect his greatest friend.
Now imagine if Logan DID end up becoming a heartless machines from the very beginning just like how the x programming wanted him to be he would be a way bigger threat than x 24 considering his admantanium skeleton is way stronger and more durable
Its very depressing ending for Charles. All his efforts and battles that he fought. At the end of his life Mutants on the verge of extinction, thus all his moral code and ethics resulted in nothing but a tragic end of failure. Professor X was good, whiles Magneto was correct on all points.
@@vk3638 I know, pedro is a great Joel, my personal opinion is that Hugh is the Perfect Joel. But regardless I’m happy pedro is doing the character justice
Probably the most devestating moment for me is right before his death, Charles saying "I think I finally understand you". Charles realizes, now having been responsible for the deaths of those he cares about, why Logan is so committed to being an outsider and why he doesn't let people close to him. He's finally experienced that same pain and as a result, understands Logan's self-hatred. It's so sad that this is what he's thinking in his final moments, especially when he did so much good in his lifetime.
What Charles Xavier did: - Prevented Nuclear war - Saved generations of humans with Mutant genes - Saved the world from an insane mutant God wannabe - Saved the Earth from crazy aliens What did he get: - Stabbed in the heart by a weapon made by man 😤😤😤😤😤😤 Magneto is always right
This is one of the most heartbreaking moments in comic book adaptation history, but the only small comfort I can take from it is that Charles lived long enough to know that it wasn't *HIS* Logan that murdered him.
although mr sinister and sabertooth did not appear(yes sabertooth nearly appeared) but it was still good to see how James mangold utilise Wolverine`s nightmare in the film itself
1:44 REALLY MAKE ME SHOCK! I WAS NOT BELIEVE THAT CHARLES HAS BEEN STABBED. I WAS TELLING MYSELF THAT THIS SCENE IS ONLY A DREAM....I WAITED FOR SO LONG FOR CHARLES TO WAKE UP BUT NOPE. HE'S DEAD AND I WAS SPEECHLESS
Charles had his telepathic abilities intact because he stated that him and Laura have been “communicating”. We as the viewers assume that Charles couldn’t sense that it was the clone and mistaken him for Logan. Not the case. Charles was facing his final moments with mortality and HIMSELF, and was making his final omission. He knew it wasn’t Logan, that wasn’t a surprised moment when he faced the clone. DAMN
@@jamescarriere3646 how does that make sense? Your point was that Charles knew it wasn't Logan while he's talking to him. How is Charles trying to speak to the real Logan relevant?
Zander Rice is the perfect villain for this movie. He somewhat of Striker but better and more smarter I think..? But the only problem with weapon X his project got a little sloppy and rapid. God this movie was a masterpiece I am really missing Hugh Jackman as the one and only wolverine. 😢😢
