Let's assemble the first part of the X-Carve, which includes the frame, waste board, t-tracks, side stiffeners, and side rails. I ran into a couple of hiccups along the way but managed to work through them. This thing is really starting to take shape!

Couple of thoughts: 1) Reminds me of putting together Heathkits back in the day, if you are old enough to remember them 2) Sympathy for factory workers in the second/third world who do this day in day out for pennies.

Did using only one washer instead of two on the back board of the work surface cause anything to be out of alignment later? I'm running into the same issue with my assembly of the x-carve

Not that I can tell. The back board seems to just be there to make sure the gantry mechanism doesn’t bump into anything when it goes all the way back. So more of just a clearance thing.
