I don't even use Twitter except for viewing tweets linked elsewhere, but once again you're expressing exactly what I've been feeling these past couple of years. The more 'radicalised' I get, the more inner conflict I feel, yet as you say, I can't unsee things. I can only hope there's a way out of the darkness for us both.
We need more central people that can talk about both sides and nut out what is more likely true or more than likely rubbish. [Edit] Would be great to have an extension for X that was like ground news, showing which way the tweet is leaning.
Why do you need 'central people'? Have you not learned about Communism? Why can't you DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH, and use your God-given Gift of Discernment?? Why would you trust these people that have been lying to your face for over a century???
@@dukedex5043 Because both sides can lie and if it shows you which way it is leaning you can look up the opposite view points. Generally, these days, you can't get a simple TRUE or FALSE information return. Instead it is an interpretation.
@@dukedex5043 I never said one way or the other was the truth. Both have their bias, and knowing a leaning can help as both sides frame things differently. The video creator seemed to indicate in his video that there was a lot of right wing bias happening in his X. So my suggestion was to get an extension similiar to what "Ground News" does which shows which way the tweet is leaning, which would help him (the author of this video I was replying to) decide if he should accept that tweet or ignore it. Edit: Next time I will just DM Kizzume personally since replying here, some people forget that I am replying directly to the video. Also note, I'm not American nor live in America, so couldn't care which way your news leans. But base on the way the news leans, I can most certainly see how things are framed differently.

Being aware of biases is the first step to compensating for them. And what I tend to do if I find myself being 'radicalised' (aka 'oversaturated and overwhelmed') by a certain topic, or mindset, etc, is just take some time out and do something entirely different for a while - kinda like I am from pretty much everything at the moment, as I reassess pretty much everything about this new reality I find myself in - of which, I have to say, I am less than a fan. Both 'sides' suck donkey balls and, if I'm being honest, I'd not hire them to manage my larder; let alone my country or, in the case of POTUS, the so called 'Leader of the Free World.'
Ideologically we are less polarized and agree on far more now than we have ever have before. On the other hand our day-to-day communication skills are garbage. Very few of us seem to hold themselves responsible for their actions while those on both sides say that the others must be personally responsible. It is the others that must be punished and if you don't agree with me then you are equally evil. The majority of communication is all judgmental morality in defense of a self created identity. Applying morals to yourself seems to have been forgotten. Moral character is virtually extinct.
If there is one thing that the internet has taught me since the late 90's, it's that adults and institutions lie and deceive... a lot. The struggle is then to move forward positively as a tax-paying citizen with this knowledge in mind. Before the internet I felt that everything was mostly OK, now it seems like I have to pretend everything is mostly OK.
US immigration problems are a valid concern, but there is currently a sort of social contagion/panic occurring with the issue, and it seem to be propagated on X.
I drive myself a little crazy responding to comments online sometimes, but I always try to remind myself that co-ordinated brigading and comment bots do actually exist, it's not paranoid to point that out. X (formerly Twitter) is absolutely rife with that kind of stuff, it's far from the worst online in that regard, but, currently at least, it's a dumpster fire.

And this is different from the Pre-Elon Twitter how? And as we get to the back-end of the post, we get to the same thing on the Left, but without the "radicalized" critique, it's just ignorance of the other side, no that many far-Left as opposed to the far-Right, interesting. But I ain't one to gossip... .

@@kizzume When I was young I emphasized more with Morpheus, now I identify more with the struggles of Cypher and his steak. Everything is so damn complicated now. I don't chase after that rabbit as hard anymore.
If your views are based on truth, you don't have to 'like' them- just acknowledge them as painfully factual, if necessary. Truth cannot be hidden or denied, just because it's unsavory or inconvenient..
