X-lite Pro external multi protocol D8 Opentx2 3 nightly builds

This is dangerous and should not be done unless you understand what you are doing. The builds are for testing purposes only. The X-lite Pro is not my daily driver so i do use it for testing only at this time. If you decide on doing this please be careful and think about your surroundings first!
This is how you flash the opentx 2.3 nightly builds to your taranis x-lite pro.
In this video i show that the external multi-protocol modules are working (kinda) to enable us to use D8 mode frsky recievers (possibly others but i don't have others to test)
With the nightly builds there are new D16 mode options for the IRSM on the x-lite pro. These options still does not work as of when i recorded this video.

Never mind, it appears that I have solved the issue after reading through comments here. As you've mentioned in previous comments on this video it is very essential to create a new model with the newly installed module. Cheers!

Great that someone dares to try the nightly builds! :D I'm about to buy an Q x7s with an R9M module included in the sale.. Do you know if and when the Q 7S will work with access firmware and also maybe the multiprotocol module?

Am looking at getting into the hobby and buying my first radio, the long term plan is to be able to take the drone and radio with me up the ski fields and hikes. The X lite pro seems great for this due to its size and already coming with a carry case. Given that i am only starting builds now and am looking at using the r9m lite pro and r9 receivers would you recommend this radio or do you think the x lite pro is dying out due to its limitations?

Strange, since this video was published OpenTX has moved on to 2.3.9 and yet when going to operate the iRangeX IRX4 mini the X-Lite Pro does not even see the module. After disabling the internal module (or not, either way) and trying to activate the external IRX4 module nothing happens. The remote just beeps when trying to select away from "OFF". I wonder if the nightly builds published at the time of this video had the functionality and then it was removed for the release? I cannot find the specific nightly build firmware mentioned in this video to test it out, it seems to have been removed. Anyone else had any luck with firmwares release subsequent to this video?

After seeing your video I have order Xlite Pro and MPM multiprotocol. Do I also need to update my firmware on my TX f

Hey, can't find the Companion 2.3.0N7. The latest version in the website is the 2.3.0N68, which doesnt include the multimodule in the Build Options. Version 2.2.4N7 includes the multimodule option, but it doesnt support xlite-Pro, only the regular xlite. Any ideas on how to enable the multimodule option in the version 2.3.0N68? or where to find the version you used in this video? Thanks in advance! Cheers.

I have upgraded the firmware for x-lite pro 190626 and it does not receive the IR4X module, do you know why?

Nice video, thank you. How is this function with 2.3.9? I can't seem the MPM getting to work , I do see R9 and XJT as external modules, but not Multi. Any idea why?

I am having problems and I'd appreciate your help. I have an x-lite s and an vantac multi protocol module. I was under the impression that the mpm would work with the x lite s out of the box. I'm a spektrum guy and I do not know much about opentx. I have not updated my tx or mpm. The tx is running firmware from June 2019. When I go under external rx I do not see a multi protocol option. I am in the process of learning to update the x lite but I have a feeling it wont solve the problem. What do I need to do to get it to work? I would greatly appreciate any help at all!

Thank you in advance to anyone that can help me out. I’m trying to bind my x Frsky x-lite s equipped with xjt lite module to Tinyhawk Freestyle 2 and they won’t bind. I’ve followed the steps in this and no dice. I’ve tried multiple d8 options for the external and have tried making the tinyhawk compatible for d16 through betaflight. Any thoughts? Should I get a different drone or transmitter?

I do notice that my Vantac MPM doesn't just turn on. I have to switch models to get it to turn on. I was getting super annoyed thinking everything was bound, turning everything off, getting outside to test fly only to find things were not bound. WTF lol I must've come in and out 3 times before realizing the MPM wasn't event on. Only when I switched to another model does it kick in. For now, my entire fleet (all 2 3-inchers with XM+ and 3 micros with Frsky SPI on D16 LOL) are air worthy with telemetry :) :)

I don't see the multi protocol option in companion 2.3.3N53, is it removed from recent Nightlies?
