Alternate Old woman Storm learned Magic as she got older and her mutant powers diminished so she became a sorceress so they could adapt the storyline in this version of earth. They are taking bits and pieces from every era. Like Magneto wearing that purple outfit and her Mohawk phase and losing her powers is straight from the 80's but they meshed it into the 90's era. And how Morph looks is his Age of Apocalpyse alternate reality look aswell. So they are mixing concepts here and there. Also one of Storms ancestors was a Sorcerer Supreme Ayesha and other priestesses.

I wonder of this will require a trip back to Africa? 🤔 This would be VERY cool.

Most likely, back in Kenya a Tribe worshipped her as a Goddess. They might have information on her ancestry and be able to connect the dots. Or they could totally surprise us and use the Scarlet Witch to teach her magic or mentor her in magic like in the comic series.@@pharoah487

The X-men were created during the Civil Rights movement. Xavier represents MLK, and Magneto represents Malcolm X. The mutants in my opinion represents black Americans.

yooo I didn't even think of that with the "Uncle Tom" angle. You definitely gotta stick around and comment more on this channel! Also, that ending with The Adversary... That's the strongest moment of "WHAT? ITS OVER?" I've had for any show in years. I NEED to see how they bring this home now.

That Magneto/Rogue part is gonna be something to keep our eyes on definitely. One of the bigger risks their taking and their handling of it will have major waves of the rest of the project one way or another. But nothing will undo the hype at seeing Cyclops and Storm both get the rspect they deserve right out the gate.

Well Bishop's power lends itself naturally to tanking energy attacks and hazards (something he used to shield Storm in the 1st skirmish so it's not just his White teammates) and Storm's moment serves a greater purpose as a major plot point and the start of her character arc for this season. Also, as the only two Black X-Men on the team, anything they do can be looked at through that lens. Doesn't make it reality, though. Take Storm's "Omega Level Threat" moment. Was that Cyclops ordering a Black woman to be his personal firing squad, or was Storm the best X-Man for the task given the scale & strength of her powers and the need to destroy the sentinels in one attack while leaving the team unharmed?

I respect your opinion, but the LGBT black guy who was the head writer(that Disney fired)seems to have played on an old stereotypical trope that black people can take more pain than other groups. Bishop didn't have much dialogue, maybe he doesn't know how to write heterosexual black male characters, we shall see.@@StormKoriHQ

@@andysawyer647 Yeah she is but just know that they intentionally do Storm wrong. The Mohawk and leather punk fashion was meant to be a joke. I’ve been a Storm fan since the early eighties and she was our first Black female hero and instantly represented how we viewed the strong Black women in our family so this particular story and that Mohawk seriously bothers me. I can hear them on the other side, behind the scenes, their racial jokes and abuse towards Storm. But because she has so many fans they hold back but still lowkey put it out there.

Enjoy that rereading! tbh that may be the best thing about this show, the fact that it's inspiring so many people to pick up the classic comics. We might just be at the start of an X-Men Renaissance. Of course they could also fumble at the 10 yard line and I'd explode in fury lol.

As for the first fight, we can definitely chalk that explosion up to "Bishop's powers were dampened by the plot" lol because idk why else he didn't absorb the fire from the explosion. It didn't bother me *too* much as it's par for the course for all these team based superhero shows, basically. At some point, someone's powers won't work or they won't do something they would usually do for no other reason than "we want/need the other teammates to do something." Can definitely see how it's annoying to watch tho. Also, since they're doing Lifedeath and due to a couple other small things, I personally think they're also setting up Storm to take over as leader later on in the season. So I'm fine with them starting that transition now by taking away her powers. It'll also give us a chance to see how much of a force she can be even without her powers. However, I'm using these first two episodes as the baseline. So when she gets her powers back, they better not revert her to something less than this.

Does "holding people accountable" include actively working to deplatform people, get them fired, and prevent them from ever moving past their offenses? Even when those offenses are as simple as "saying something I disagree with?" Because that's what I'm referring to. It's a complex issue, definitely, but denying its existence is objectively false.
