The fact that the Rogue scenes would've only added 5 more minutes is criminal that they didn't keep them in. She was vital to the original trilogy and bridging the gap between the series was obviously the main goal here. Well at least she still got paid
I agree, she had the closest relationship with Logan, other then Charles, so it would have been great to see her there with Logan at the end. Also, Magneto should have been a teacher cameo at the Xavier school in the new future imo
Here’s the issue. It removes tension from the end of the movie. Part of the end was that what’s her name (girl that can go through walls) was dying. She couldn’t hold on much longer. When rogue takes her place it’s no longer an issue. I know that there is already tension with the sentinels but both situations together really ramps it up.
@@popermen694 meh, not really, if she couldnt hold much longer it would have been cool to see her having trouble keeping logan in touch with the situation hes in, just like when he hurts her after seeing stryker, that would have been an interesting way for him to lose a fight imo
I’ve seen this movie like 10 times but it was on tv one day so I decided to watch it again and all of sudden rogue popped up and I couldn’t have been more confused lol
There were another days of future past deleted scene when kitty talk to iceman. Only saw at one channel sadly i never found it again. I think they were would be available at disney plus in the future my guess is upper 2025
Lets be honest, those sentinels are the most cruel and scary "villain" in any hero movie ever. When they show up, you know they just gonna murder everyone in their path and the heroes has no other choice then run.
Yeah. It was the point of Terminators in Terminator movies once... Since then, they have been just throwing protagonists around from one side to the other side of the room, trying not to hurt them at all.
It's a bit messed up they cut all the Rogue scenes from this film. She's been there from the start. It would make sense she's there with Logan at the end.
@@-JavCold- its so weird, i recently just watched this movie again, and i had to search this up, because i swear i remembered rogue taking over, was what happened the first time i watches this movie
We cannot blame him because there was no time for mourning no matter how much you want to, given the situation where those sentinels were about to wage a murderous rampage upon them
I don't think Rogue gets enough credit. Not only can she absorb someone's power, but she's also an EXTREMELY fast learner! It takes some mutants years to master their abilities while Rogue can mimic it in seconds! Amazing
She's not a fast learner, her powers give her a temporary knowledge base that allows her to use the same powers at comparable proficiencies. She will eventually lose it (with the exception of anything that she would commit to memory for herself), but essentially, she's taking more than powers.
@@machdude3366 Anna was able to do the Southern accent in the Zachary Levi football movie. If she put that same portrayal into her Rogue character she would have been perfect in the role.
In xmens 1, 2 & 3 she was scared of her own mutation and worried about hurting others, but seems like since the events of the last stand, she grew up & accepted it, full of confidence in herself. wish they had made this the theatre version & i do hope they bring back anna paquin to reprise the role, even if its just for secret wars
In Xmen last Stand Rogue took the shot of the cure. You see her in line for it and end of movie you see her touch Bobby with her bare skin and he was perfectly fine.
@@matthewhoward5514we also see Magneto move the chess piece without touching it, which suggests the cure isn’t permanent and in Days of Future Past he has his powers in that future segment.
@@leonormanandie4211so did Mystique that's why they were supposed to have Rebecca Romijn sitting across from him and she was supposed to look at him with that grin Nad Those Yellow Eyes and then... yeah
Meh I prefer them as possible love interests. It woulda kept it close to the comics storyline. Even mystique turned into Jean, Storm and Rogue.....hinting that Logan didn't know who he wanted as he was with all of them at one point.
@@Yomomaloveme uh yes but she does age. And i didn't mean right then. And I think she was 16, 17 in the second one. But she wasn't with Logan until she was in her 30s in the comic. So of course Logan wouldn't try anything then. But he looks in his 30s for years.
@@Yomomalovemebro it didn't matter how good your memory of rogue's age, wolverine os like 100yo yes? 😂😂😂😂 i am not following x men, but I rememberes wolverine's age is very very old
For the people who wants to see Rogue in the movie even though she's not in it besides the ending so if want to see her in the movie it's called X-Men Days Of Future Past: Rogue Cut
It would have been great to see Rogue her comic accurate,yellow/green costume or even the most dark green& hint of black outfit back in her early times in the Comics,ha?.
I think the final scene where Logan wakes up & was in the Academy hallway seeing Rogue with Booby, she is wearing a greenish outfit there?. Sorta a closest nod to the comic source material of her we can get for now even unrelese-Cut is still good?.
@@pauhy5601 It was the 2000s, sadly. Where Rogue became more emo and angst, too contrast to her usual sarcastic happy fun-go-lucky attitude in the 90s. How was Rogue able to fly again?
They had a lame excuse that the run time was too long and they wanted to squeeze more showings at the theater…. Sucked cause she was heavily featured on the trailers
I prefer the Rogue cut so much more but in Xmen the Last Stand Rogue took the shot. So she could actually touch someone without killing them. Who could blame her. Her power was useless in a fight or battle. I would have loved to see Rogue when she had her powers touch Mystique/Raven.
From my understanding, the cure was only temporary. Like when Kitty and Beast got close to Arnie, the effects weren't permanent. They used Arnie's DNA to create the cure...so I'm assuming it only last for an unspecified time. That's why at the end, we see Magneto regaining his powers as the serum wore off. That's my take on it 🤷🏾♂️
The Rogue Cut edition makes more sense, its like something is missing in the other one, theres some hole. I mean, I know who is missing, glad they released this version.
Missed one of the scenes where Logan take out his claws when Magneto uses the rebar against him. It’s a short scene, but Rogue still looks at his claws in fear since she got stabbed by them before.
It's not that he didn't. As he probably felt excruciating pain the moment Bobby died. But he knew the only way to save him was to get Rogue to Logan. He had hope he would be back as well as the rest of his xmen
Rogue's power should've been the center of this version's Sentinel program, but since JLaw as the it girl back then, they had to focus the entire movie on Mystique. Mystique is only able to change appearance but she can't copy other mutants' powers no?
I FEEL LIKE THE TWO WOULD HAVE BEEN THE CENTER OF ATTENTION, BECAUSE MYSTIC CAN CHANGE SHAPE AND THAT HELPS THE SENTINELS BUT I REMEMBER 1973 , NOW I WOULD HAVE LOVED THE FUTURE TO FOCUS ON ROGUE BEING THE POWERFUL MUTANT SHE IS AND FOR SHE TO HAVE BEEN CAPTURED TO GAIN THE POWERS OF OTHER MUTANTS
I do NOT care, they should’ve figured out a way to put these scenes into the theatrical release. FOX really screwed over Anna Paquin as wrong and I pray MCU keeps some of the LEGACY X-men actors.
A better way to go would've been to have her show up with the super strength and flight that she had in the animated series as a nod to all the die hard fans. Finally have her go all out in a fight with the sentinels.
Well, I don't think the strength and flight were her own powers in the first place. It's just that she absorbed them from Ms Marvel and managed to retain them.
@@dimaudalow I know. But it's comic accurate to the character. And a lot of us who were kids when the first movie came out were surprised that flight and strength weren't included because our first introduction to the character and her power set included those.
It's interesting in this version of Days Of Future Past, humans are also still alive. In the comics and animated adaptations, ALL humans and mutants were on the brink of extinction. Master Mold (who is not in this movie), the AI tasked to build Sentinels, deemed all humans and mutants the same, and started targeting both.
I think the main reason they cut this out is that it would have made the movie too long... Also the action sequences had too many plot holes if they didn't do it right. Like they were surrounded by metal. There's no way Magneto would have to run from those sentinels.
Exactly. Too much metal for there to had been ANY casualties at least for their escape from the mansion scene Bobby/Iceman dying at the *end of the film (theatrical version) made more sense - but still, including Rogue in the movie SHOULD HAVE BEEN a thing - **just edit the sequences
I must say, the sentinals in this films look way more terrifying than any other adaptation. Having mystique's gene into the mix, it allows this machines to shape shift into whatever predetaory form to kill any mutant that means it also injects the fear of unknown horror as well.
Im playing marvel snap and just watch again xmen days of future past and on credits i see rogue which is 1 of my fav card on marvel snap but dont know the scene and search on youtube and here i am. Only 1 scene with bobby/iceman but this video I've never see before
Not really. Live action Rogue is nothing like the confident, sassy, and extremely powerful character from the comics and cartoon series. It's not entirely her fault, since the writers didn't do the character justice, but I really have a hard time believing Anna Paquin could pull that off.
Some of the decisions made for these X-Men movies blow my mind. It makes absolutely no sense to cut Rogue's scenes from the movie as it would have improved in my opinion.
They cut her scenes for pacing issues they felt it didn’t let the movie run well but a year later they released the Rogue cut and that seems to be the version people prefer cause it resolves some plot holes and extends some other scenes
This is from The Rogue Cut, a different version of the film released to dvd and stream and not theatrically. It puts the scenes Anna Paquin shot back into the film.
Kitty Pryde suddenly having time travel problems makes no sense. Nor does mystique being the platform for advanced sentinels. They could have easily slotted Rogue into either role as a better fit.
They did experiments, dissection, and DNA gathering from mutants in First Class. Darwin and Emma Frost are the powers we see most when the sentinels are defending themselves from attack. They couldn't implement those powers into a sentinel without Raven is all that they were saying. Rogue was for a special darker program where they would have basically created the crappy Deadpool or Apocalypse... sentinels with a ton of powers all at once defense and attack
They shoud have inclueded her in the filme. It'd make it so much better! Missed such a great ending with Rogue saving Logan, and the future, just like he saved her in the beginning!
They always shoot multiple scenes and endings to the Movies. I prefer the Rogue cut but in Xmen the last stand Rogue got the cure shot at the end of that movie she touched Bobby with her bare skin. I think thats why they cut her out because she got the cure and the cure shot didn't kill them Like Sentinels do. Xmen is all over the map especially with the age of William Striker. He couldn't have gotten that old from the 70's to the 80's when he gave Logan his antmantium. Don't try to make sense of X men movies after 3rd one just relax and enjoy.
I think because they didn't write her a long script so her 4 minutes in it didn't make sense so they just cut Rouge out that's why they call it the Rouge cut version 😂
I disagree. She acts nothing like the character in the comics. This is the real Rogue: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dcTr3TqGaio.htmlsi=Lvi5PnljGkTxy98o
I never saw the Rogue scenes before but in a way, while I like Rogue as a character in the comics as well as 90s show & films, I think keeping her out added to the suspense in the film with not only having the Sentinels hunt them but also Kitty having to keep Logan in 1973 while she’s seriously hurt had me feeling nervous with them. Keeping Rogue in this case for this story would’ve been a lazy cop out being as overpowered as she is in the film.
So for some reason i remember the slogan for rouge cut beeing something like se Rouge Sore but not once did she use her strength or flight. I felt kinda robbed.
No Ms marvel.....so they couldn't give her those powers. Or they wouldn't have been able to use Ms. Marvel in the Avengers as she'd be in a coma permanently until Rogue wakes her later....but I don't think she'd have her powers back. She'd be a normal human again.
0:04 What do the doctors there do to Rogue? And how did those doctors get the opportunity to experiment on Rogue at the Cerebro in the post-apocalyptic world? God I don't understand what's going on
A lot of them were caught. And as her power steals other powers, life, and memories. They probably put everything they had in to catching her to the point noone could save her.
Yes and no. Because it was supposed to be in the original. But she had fans me included.....but those fans complained so they put out a Rogue cut dvd with all the scenes they were originally gonna put in it anyway. So they could have saved themselves time and money by doing that in the first place.
