Imagine if you had to choose either of them naked…we all know the obvious choice. He got resurrected in LOTR, she was abandoned. Even alice just kept fighting zombies. She was the unlucky one.
I mean, he's standing in a metal box with prisoners inside of metal cells. The moment they tried anything they would just be crushed like fruit inside of a can.
The best thing I find is that he knows he most likely doesn’t even need to use his powers. Magneto is so incredibly charismatic and trusts his own intelligence and communication skills to be able to convince almost anyone over to his cause.
"There's a powerful mutant who can control the metal looking around for this prisoner" "What we gonna do?" "Let's transport her in a truck made of...metal"
@Kaos Nova pretty sure these things weren't there when this movie got released ...and full carbon Fibre car isn't something u can just make when u want to transport a mutant
The dark knight flipped a tractor trailer onto its back, the last stand flipped the entire tractor through the air. Different standards, both excellent executions.
I haven’t watched any X-Men movies but Magneto seems like the kinda guy to flaunt his power, kill anyone to get what he wants, and be absolutely brutal. Am I correct in saying this?
Sir Ian McKellen's magneto character was extraordinary. He was both evil and good, while playing the character. That's how much powerful he was, in the movie.
There’s something so satisfying about Magneto in a way that just makes him seem cooler than Jean Grey/Phoenix. Like she lifts anything but it’s with the focus of her mind while Magneto, everything that is metal repels or attracts to him because he wills it to. It’s like the coolest form of limitation a superpowered being has. I’d prefer controlling metal and steel any day over moving stuff with my head. That shit would likely give me an overblown headache 😂
In the movies, he’s only limited to ferromagnetism (controlling metals), but in the comics, he also has control of electromagnetism as well so he can even change the earth’s magnetic pole, create force fields, harness electricity, etc.
Magneto is practically the ultimate weapon to human civilization. Our world is made of metal. From cars to aircraft carriers. That and how he uses his powers like a mixture between raw power and art.
@@cruxivar6026 I guess to him metal is not that cold/bad. lol jk, but taking her with him would mean first, helping out a "human" which is against the cause, and second she would be in danger having no powers. He could also kill her or something to prove he was loyal to the cause, but that's why I say deep down he dismissed her like that so she wouldn't be in future danger.
He probably would have killed her if she didn't save him. He despises humans for oppressing mutants and killing his family, enough to kill them out of spite for that.
@@Matthias27182 that wouldn’t be in character for him. He always kills with a purpose. He wants to serve justice. He isn’t gonna kill a helpless lady on the ground for no reason
Biggest thing was Juggernaut is not a mutant; his powers were mystic and magical. Leech's negating powers and the cure wouldn't have worked on him anyways.
This scene always bothered me. Yall go WAY back AND she ain't got no clothes! No phone! No wallet. NO POWERS! She in the middle of nowhere and she probably cold smh. Yo left her there to straight die. He could have dropped her off somewhere at least...
I really disliked how they portrayed Magneto in this movie. He would never abandon Mystique after she saved him and he would never call mutants "paws" either.
For Magneto the cause of fighting for mutants was higher than any personal feelings. He was truly sorry but in his view she had nothing left to contribute at best and as a human now could potentially be an enemy. His ideology was a greater driving force than morality. That's just Magneto.
@@KENOMAN1969 But could you even betray someone who is so close to you, no matter what they become? To me, I would rather think these feelings more carefully and try to look after someone I know for a very long time. Even mutants thought this is treason, except someone who met from being mutant to human or other way round. This is something they do not understand about love and kindness.
@@gtaipan7422 Remember Magneto was a holocaust survivor who watched his mother die in front of him. That type of trauma changes a person. He would do anything and sacrifice anyone if he felt it would stop that from happening again. For him it's war and that means sacrifice, even of loved ones. I'm not saying it's the right choice or even the one I could make, but it's who Magneto is. It makes the character interesting, and Ian Mcchelon rocks the role. He understands the character perfectly. Watch X-Men First Class to get more detail on his time in the camps and what it did to him. Here is a link to more on the character ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wwyLuFKc0uY.html
@@KENOMAN1969 Thanks so much for your explanation and the link you've sent me. I agree that war happens to consume us into a different character; a more violent and vengeful type. Even mistakes we've made.

As we can see from the first clip, Magneto has quite a bit of range with his ability. That begs the question, why didn’t he use his range to reach the metal in the electronics outside of his plastic prison?
Magneto's prison had multiple power generators creating inverted magnetic fields that completely disrupted his ability to use long range magnetic ability.
Eric was cold in the scene his ideology was basically rooted in the same racism as the Nazis, Humans vs.Mutants. Charles wouldn't have shunned Raven like that especially after her selfless act.
I remember watching this scene in the theatre when i was a kid and it made me so sad to see Mystique being left off specially after she sacrificed herself for Magneto
no, it's just utterly myopic. I get eric is supposed to be mutants for mutants, but his absolutist stance here was odd. Charles has foiled his plans for decades, yet he still treats charles with respect, yet here he just turns his back on his most trusted aide. Who of course turns State instantly and tells everyone his plan. Not very strategic. An intelligent man would have still found a use for her. Leads one to wonder had charles lost his powers, would he kill him because he couldn't defend himself anymore? Showing all that pomp and bloviating about how much he respects charles to just be bullshit.
"We have these guns that take mutants powers away right? Yeah why? I don't know mabey we should just open these doors and shoot these powerful mutants to remove their powers. Nah why would we do that, nothings gonna happen."
Id like to see a a more visually comic accurate magneto in the future with ian's voice that would be chills. But I love Ian, he will be the best magneto for a while yet
