We might as well pencil this in as an annual event where Omar keeps updating the reading list until X-Men is fully collected in omnibus format through the Hickman run. Everyone is going to keep voting for it and it is Omar's favorite series to discuss.
thats an amazing video. you know what would make it perfect ? without any mention in the beginning of video, after you analyze the run from bishop's crossing, up the legionquest, SUIT AND ANNOUNCE ALL THESE IN 2-3 MASSIVE OMNIS! oh boy the dream
This xmen reading orders made me become a patreon. Not only you deserve it for the hard work but theres no way I could have understand how to read xmen and fill in the gaps without this. Also I really wanted those notes haha cheers Omar
Still angry at Marvel for not folding X-tinction Agenda/ Days of Future Present into Claremont/Lee Vol. 1. Yes, it's totally obvious why they did it. But it would have been nice for Marvel to throw the fans a bone for once when they are constantly milking them for every single dollar.
Thank you!!! Nice to see the line of Xmen comics after I moved on from them as a young adult. Now that I'm an old man I'm going back and buying as many of these Omnibuses as I can. Excellent reading order!
We need that days of future past hc in the Omnibus format :) Only you can make that happen Omar and not just that bunch of others like fatal attractions, shatter shot and wedding of cyclops and phoenix :)
X men brought me to your channel and made a fan of your channel❤️❤️❤️. So yess they hold a special place in my heart plus there's Wolverine and storm!!!!
I need like a comics explained or comicstorian type video channel to do a chronological order of all our favorite marvel and dc characters and really give us a laid out detailed universe explaining channel
Great work as usual Omar! You're the person who made me get into X-men after a decade of just avoiding it all because it just seemed to daunting to me. Thanks a ton, now let's hope these oversized HC's can get some reprints or some omni version pairing them together!
@@qrsx66 yea, it’s always hit or miss. Like with Inferno or Mutant Massacre. People will find omitted pieces that they will demand to be in reprints. Overall, I think it’s a good thing to do it right eventually.
@@Michijere77 Yes tell me about it. How many times DC did it wrong ? (Death of Superman, New Teen Titans, Infinite Crisis...) Marvel did Squadron Supreme,... Captain Britain has a new printing with more material, but also it seems some from the first printing won't be in the second, I'm not sure or it was just missing in the anouncement info? They should offer a volume of the new printing to first buyers in possession of the previous one any time they do that and it should be inforced by the the World Order Police of Goodness and Harmony.
@@qrsx66 yea, I get the frustration. That’s why I think channels like this one are good, because they get advanced copies and Omar knows enough to tell us what he feels is missing beforehand.
I love how excited you are, I cannot wait to get to these. I’m looking forward to the video what tells us when to read new mutants, Excalibur etc. Thank you so much Omar 😊
Despite not being huge into X-Men, not because I don’t like it I just haven’t read much, I really appreciate your hard work on these reading orders, Omar! You’re the best! Algorithm gang!
Thanks for this X-men reading order. I was in and out of the hobby starting in the 1990's, so this really helps for someone trying to make sense of it all. So glad I've found this channel. Appreciate you, Omar! Welcome to my subscribe list. "...burger-eating scene..." LOL! Loved that. Thanks for the laugh.
Ah, yes. Another reminder of Omar's comics sorcery and the X-Men spell it laid on me. I used to think that I would only collect the Jim Lee Omnis. Boy was I wrong! My goal now is to stick with the Claremont reign. No quarter asked, none given! Thanks Omar. =)
Hey Omar I just wanted to say thank you for your suggesting about a pool list I didnt miss out on king in black or any of the other orders on my pool you're amazing thank you so much
@@rickyspanissshhh of course this is marvel they are listening to most of what we want so far. So If we say we would like to see those books they mite make it happen. Omar made a list marvel did 2 off the list we bought them out. They came with more we bought those. It's what DC needs to do give the people what they want.
@@mohammedazam6562 ah fair play. I started with Batman late last year and reading along, whereas I’m collecting and stockpiling the x men stuff so I can read them all together before they go OOP
This is exactly what I want on my shelves, I’ve got three of the books already and I am looking at grabbing a couple more soon, just hope they redo them all as straight reprints or some kind of new omnibus etc.
We need all of these OHC's to be combined and re-released as Omnis, especially with Road to Onslaught finally announced! I have a huge gap on my shelf between Claremont/Lee Vol. 2 and Age of Apocalypse.
And here I thought I had the complete Uncanny X-men run in OHC if I got all the omnibusses. Nope missing three issues between Claremont and Lee vol 1 and vol 2. :(
I just hope that Fatal Attractions be reprinted in a near future. Marvel could also make an Age of Apocallypse prelude omnibus collecting Phalanx Covenant and Legion Quest prelude, and maybe do an omnibus that collects Bishop's Crossing and X-Cutioner's Song (and maybe the X-tinction agenda??), that would be perfect and a lot of books out of print could be again in the market :(
Hopefully they release all of these over sized hardcovers in omnibus format over the next few years as well as silver age 1-2 which would give us a nice unbroken run of omnis all the way up until age of apocalypse. One can dream I suppose... Already watched the other reading orders just on to show some love though 👌🔥
Great vid as always my man! Too many out of print OHCs! I would love to see Bishop’s Crossing OHC get a reprint! As well as the others that go for hundreds on the secondary market...
Hey Omar. I absolutely love these reading order videos. They've helped me a lot to know what omnibuses I'm going to buy next. Do you have any idea if the Fatal Attractions hardcover will be reprinted in the near future? Thanks!
Didn’t even realize the adjectiveless X-men omnibus were a thing. Looks like volume 2 is out of print, but I did see volume 1 available at CGN. Wonder if/when they’ll get a reprint? (EDIT: reversed ‘em)
Hopefully one day we get something just called X-men Volumes 1-50, and we can read everything and not have this sorted collected editions to go through with a road map.
Do you think they’ll throw Bishop’s Crossing, Days of Future Present, Xecutioner’s Song, and Xtinction Agenda together as one or two books? I’m assuming they’re definitely going to rerelease them in some oversized format.
Question for you Omar, sadly by the time I got to collecting my X-men reading order Fatal attractions HC and X-men Phalanx covenant HC were OOP. So I had to get the Milestones of Phalanx covenant TBP and Fatal Attractions TBP. Well looking at them they are missing Uncanny X-men 301-302, 305, 311, and 314,. Also a few more from other titles, so that leads me to my question of how important are these issues? I mean I plan on getting the HC when they are reprinted but till then will I miss any important details by not having some of these issues?
OK, here‘s my challenge for you. Gimme a Date when those books u just showed us, will all be labeled as Omnibus … come on u can do it ;-) I cannot wait for that day when it will all look clean together, imagine that line between the red and the black on the spine will be all there is !!!
Hi Omar! Do you think we still have a room for adjectiveless X-Men vol. 3 omnibus? OR another omnibus that will cover between Bishop's Crossing and Fatal Attractions?
How is it that X-men Vol. 1 and 2 Omnibus contain issues from Uncanny X-men? Uncanny X-men Omnibus 1,2,3 and 4 where in the part one video, right? Are does issues relevant in a new context or what is the reason for this reading order?
I'm trying to get into reading X-men comics now and it is so fucking frustrating because it seems like 90% of x-men omnibuses are out of print for some reason, what is the deal? Each time I find an omnibus i want, it averages $200+ and there are so few for sale that you almost have no choice.
@@NearMintCondition a lot of the late 90s storyline omnibus', i finally broke down and paid $250 for an age of apocalypse omnibus which is somehow the lowest price i could find, Now I'm trying to find Jim lee X-men Vol. 2 that isn't ridiculously overpriced, and even ones i wanted like legionquest and zero tolerance, or even Apocalypse and the Twelve are in the 200s, it just seems like every x-men omnibus except for the early year x-men storylines are out of print
I'm still a bit confused about Uncanny vs. Adjectiveless X-Men, tbh. I'm no stranger to characters having multiple books, but do the stories get too confusing?
After Uncanny X-men issue 280, there were too many X-men characters for one book. So they created a second book called X-men. Uncanny X-men became the gold team & X-men (adjective-less) became the blue team. The stories aren’t confusing, because they’re mostly stayed within their own teams, except when there was a crossover.
@@josefuentes9145 Ohh, I see. Thanks for explaining that. I was kinda wondering how the whole Blue and Gold thing worked with the titles. I guess it still wasn't clear to me.
3 minutes in and he's already showing us Alf. What is this if not confirmation? There were those who said this day would never come. What have they to say now?
I wish someday Marvel fix the age of apocalypse omnibus. The X-men Chronicles 1-2, X-men Universe 1-2 & X-men prime should have been included in the main omnibus & not in the companion. Plus remove legion quest issues from the age of apocalypse omnibus, that’s why we have a Legions Quest HC.
Wow - ok I just realized I'll never read everything X-Men, like ever. I wish my local library would invest in an omnibus collection so I wouldn't have to buy these but oh well.
@nearmintcondition Do you ever think they'll reprint Bishop's Crossing or Phalanx Covanent? Marvel's bringing us a lot of reprint of Omni's but not OHC's
man can we get that x-cutioners song omnibus already so we can include the impossible to fined bishops crossing included in there already plus that will bridge the gap so we have everything in omnibuses from fall of the mutants to fatal attractions
Does anyone know if the wedding Omnibus is sequential storytelling that covers that chunk of x-continuity in full, or is it an almagation of stories not fully filling in the gap between the two books either side of it?
@@NearMintCondition thank you! You did! You mentioned missing content eg black Knight, which made me wonder if it wasn't that comprehensive an omni, but sounds like it's just the Avengers side that isn't 100% compared to epics
