So you're the guy who wouldn't know Clark Kent is Superman because he wears glasses. 3 movies in and you only now realize Cyclops is James Marsden because he took off his glasses 😂
Where in the world did you get the idea there are only three movies in the series? There is XMEN First Class which is amazxing; Days of Future Past and Wolverine and Logan and Deadpool 1 and 2; and Apocolyspe and The Dark Phoenix. Your journey has just began.
The Wolverine is chronologically the next one in the timeline as it takes place after the last stand, funnily enough hes my favorite character in the whole series
the story will continue in Days of Future Past, I heard the Rogue cut is better than the theatrical cut. and yes, the cure, like the kid's power only temporarily affect mutants.
weird thing about the marketing is lots of included angel in a x men suit despite him never wearing it in the movie. Likewise i believe parts of the marketing is about all 5 original comic x men being in one movie for the first time despite them never all being in a scene together and one of them (scott) being killed off straight away.
1 X-men 2 X-2 3 X-men the last stand 4 X-men origins wolverine 5 X-men first class 6 The Wolverine 7 X-men days of future past 8 Deadpool 9 X-men apocalypse 10 Logan 11 Deadpool 2 12 Dark Phoenix 13 The new mutants 14 Deadpool and wolverine when it comes out
So Jean Grey’s personality was called the phoenix. In the comics Jean grey becomes possessed by an entity known as the phoenix force which one of marvel’s most powerful cosmic entities. It gave her absolute power. This movie was inspired by the dark phoenix saga. Although it has cool action sequences but it poorly adapted it. Also it amalgamated a different storyline as well.
Is The Phoenix in any way comparable to The Scarlett Witch? Cuz I know both Scarlett Witch and her brother Quicksilver are mutants. And Scarlett Witch is supposed to be insanely strong. I've never read comics and only know these movies (didn't see the Dark Phoenix movie) I was just wondering if these 2 mutants were like on a different level than the others.
@@InvaderZinga well scarlet is not a mutant anymore her history was retconned. However she did battle the phoenix force in avengers vs x-men and damaged it.
7:13- I know, right?! I hate Storm so much in this movie. Who is she to judge mutants that want to take the "cure" in order fit in? She is physically normal and has the power to control the weather. Meanwhile poor Rogue can't touch anyone without possibly killing them.
This is not a good adaptation of the Phoenix storyline. This was my first exposure to it and I thought it wasn’t that bad. Then I saw how they did it in the 90s cartoon and thought “Oh my god. Last Stand SUCKS for the Phoenix story!” “We just cut into the middle of an apocalypse?” No, that’s way later. “Is that a new mutant?” Yes and no. Kitty’s appeared before but briefly and played by different actors. That thing is Beast. You’re Team Magneto just from these 3 movies? You should watch the 90s show and 97. I guess mainly 97, but you could be on his side in some of the old show too Wait have you seriously not known Cyclops was James Maraden this whole time? Warren’s super name is in fact Angel Cyclops fans are not fond of how he’s utilized in these movies “I’m the juggernaut bi*ch” is from an old youtube parody! The cure appears to be temporary. Which is sad for mutants that wanted it, like Rogue. Regarding how Charles is alive: he was teaching a class about the ethics of using mutant powers and talked about transferring someone’s consciousness into a brain dead patient, and they showed a man whose organs worked but had no consciousness. Charles transferred his own consciousness into that man, and in the commentary they confirm that man is Charles’ twin brother.
Yeah this film despite being a boiling pile of manure is a first for many Comic-book movie tropes. The first with De-aging The first with a timely reference, “I’m the Juggernaut Bitch!” And the first with a Post Credits scene.
It's quite a disappointment when Xmen2 gave such an amazing build up to the Dark Phoenix saga but I did like some of the adaptation. The scene where Jean kills Charles is excellent and clearly we can see from Pugfapillar's reaction, it does work for people who know nothing of the story. I did want to see a proper Phoenix affect though.
Psyclops power is basically just the eye laser. But after (comic and animated series) Charles dies he’s the one to take the mantle of leader. Not to mention Charles usually don’t go on their operations he telecommunicates so on the field scott is the leader and Logan being the either second or just the wmd
Saw all the og trilogy in theaters, can confirm the bridge was badass on the big screen! My fave X-Men is Gambit, so much as I love the films, they don't reciprocate the feelings. 😢
I had a shitty day… and once again , Puggapillar you made me laugh 🤣 😂😂 so much… you gave me energy to be able to play with my cat. I 🧡your reactions, keep doing what you are doing, man.
You definitely need to watch the prequel trilogy (First Class, Days of Future Past, Apocalypse). You get backstory for several of the characters in the original trilogy and it focuses heavily on Charles and Erik's relationship.
Let's go! Loved watching you react to this trilogy and so glad this reaction came so close after X2! My favorite character is Wolverine himself and X2 is my favorite of the trilogy
You looking up Beast rule 34 had me in TEARS 😂 OMG that was funny! You should watch all the other X-men movies, too! They are kinda connected. You’ll see if you watch.
This has been so much fun. I grew up reading X-Men comics and watching the cartoons and these movies, so watching someone with zero knowledge of the characters/storylines watch these movies has been so much fun. Jean Grey/The Phoenix has always been my favorite X-Men character since I was little, with Wolverine being a close second. In the comics the love triangle between Scott/Jean/Logan was a big thing, which is why Logan was so obsessed with Jean in these movies. I really hope you watch the other X-Men movies (including Wolverine Origins and The Wolverine even though you'll hear people shit talk those movies) because I would love to watch your reactions to those!
Can't wait for you to react to first class and the ones after that, also Charles talked about earlier in the movie to his class about a man who is living but has no conscienceless and what defines ethical and non ethical meaning he could take over his body and live thru him in case he ever did die.
"Could we not have saved 1 of the needles for Jean?" Not really because everything evaporated when Logan approached her....except for his pants, of course. On to the next trilogy for this franchise! You're gonna enjoy it.
The downside of being introduced to The X-Men through these movies is how HEAVILY underused Rogue was. In the comics and the animated shows Rogue was an absolute powerhouse being one of the strongest members of the team.
I have never heard Angel being called Chicken. 😂.😂😅. "Deep fry to cure him." Actually, in the comics, Wanda and Jean are on a somewhat equal level, Wanda though has a bit of an edge since she has Chaos Magic and has absorbed other peoples energy. There are a lot of XMen characters that are underutilized, like Rogue. She can do so much more. She's one of the reasons in the comics why Captain Marvel went into a deep coma. Which I would have loved to see, and if anyone wants the cure I understand her view, cause her power for the most part sucks. Did you forget that part in the movie where Charles was talking about transferring subconscious into another person body with no consious? Nice foreshadowing.
DAMMIT ALEX! I was just about to catch some sleep! I was literally just putting my phone down and then *ding* and now cause I love ya I gotta watch this. Damn you.
At 23:11, the original scene here had her turn a cup into a mini sun and almost killed everyone there. I guess they were going to make her powers closer to what it was in the comics when the Phoenix force possessed her but opted out of that 😂
Even though this movie isn’t the best, I still think it has redeeming qualities, like Magneto’s fate (that ending always makes me feel sad for him, even if they brought back Charles)
I’m not that fond of Kelsey Grammer in general, but daym he makes a great Beast. And I’m VERY fond of Beast. A sophisticated mind in an unconventional body. ❤ Oh, and HAI MILO! You cutie patootie.
@@gatchywatchyentertainmentb2090 - good actor, kinda shitty person… 🤷 You decide how much that matters to you. You’re more than welcome to be fond of him if you like, on a professional or personal level.
My birth name is Storm and I’ve spent my entire life being asked if I’m named after Xmen 😂😅 I wasn’t, but my dad was a big Xmen fan and we watched all these films together
Y'know. After one of Mozarts many successful operas, jealous rival musicians criticized it (the opera) in that it had "too many notes". (pause to let you think about that) To which Mozart replied "...there are exactly as many notes as required to get it from the beginning to the end." The criticizer however maintained his 'position' claiming that certain notes could be excized and the effect would still be the same. To which Mozart replied "Alright, which ones?" My point is --- time and pacing is a variable that can be manipulated to valid effect. To criticize its use you have to 'point out' a valid effect it has on the 'work of art' not just the variance.
Charles put his mind in another person's body. Specifically, a brain dead person's body. The funniest thing is, Beast looks vastly different in every single version there's been. I prefer the more 'evolved' Beast that looked like a blue lion man. He looked pretty cool. Also, yeah, the trilogy was originally it, then they made X-Men: First Class and Days of Future Past. It's funny you called the cure kid Nicholas Hoult, considering he's in First Class.
39:43 I think you should check out rule 34 of one character from every movie you watch from now on after the movie ends, just for the reaction obviously 😏
